Heh, I know. I'm also the kiasu type. We got an LG also at a discounted price but the smaller silver-ish model. But yours really look very nice. Good price. Our contractor also quoted near $6k. We decided to change all grilles instead at $1000++

Wow, your EM is in a really good condition. Lucky you =)

The ocean blue is much nicer than my ashley blue. Ashley blue in the boys' room Sandstone **** Wild berry in the study room The rest of the house is painted in lily white.
-
Nice fridge!! I didn't change the windows for my place too, even though I would love to have all in white and clear glass but window prices seem exorbitant. Just changed the grilles instead.

Reno day 19 Pretty pleased with the progress of my reno. I'm left with solid top for kitchen, polishing of timber strips, painting and cleaning up. Door knobs have all been removed to make way for new ones. Another good news is that the co. managed to find another supplier for the glass shower screens and backing for the kitchen cabinet. Measurements have been taken just now. Only downside, one of my pendant lights frm lightings.com.sg was found broken when electrician wanted to install. They were delivered before I reached the place and deliveryman called me to say he has placed them in one of the rooms as my painter was there. Called up lightings.com.sg and was told they would do a one on one exchange on Tuesday. Hopefully it is fine this time round.

Thanks Ossify, I'll pass the name to my contractor.

Went to our new place to just look see and keep an eye over the works before I left for work. Picture quality is not very good cos taken with my hp camera. Kitchen cabinet is halfway up Main wall in living room painted but this is only the 1st coat Purple in the study room but I forgot the exact name Ashley blue in the boys' room. Not too happy though cos I expect it to be darker. Going off to the house again tomorrow morning cos lighting.com.sg is delivering the lights. Will take proper pictures.

Heartache!! Hope you can get the wm exchanged. They must! This is totally not acceptable. And we have chosen almost the same fridge as you. Waiting for delivery 1st Feb. Btw, I like your potted plants decals and the ones in the toilet. Very cute!

Refurbish 4-seater Kopitiam Dining Table Set
bigeyedfish replied to Querty's topic in Home Furnishings
We thought of polishing a bit because there's a scratch made by my son on the top. We definitely need to repair the chairs too. -
May I know the contacts for the main gate and how much was it?

Refurbish 4-seater Kopitiam Dining Table Set
bigeyedfish replied to Querty's topic in Home Furnishings
I would appreciate a recommendation as I also have a kopitiam set. Hand me down from my grandma in-law. Need to polish the marble top and also fix the chairs as some are already wobbly. -
Babe, $750 is a whole lot of money!! My whole house MK and Clipsal switches only cost me $120.

Updates

Yikes, ok now I'm a little worried cos I'll have a whole house of timber strips. Must be extra careful. Thanks for the reminder and I hope you find a solution soon.
-
Wow bro, is that the same dining set you have in your current place? If so, it must have been a good one cos can last so long. And you've had 3 big houses. I'm simply awed.

Hi hi CJREDDEVIL!! Thanks, got everything from Lightings.com.sg. Very reasonable price too. Anyway, updates. Have to postpone plans of moving during CNY holiday cos although almost everything will be ready by then, the glass backing of kitchen cabinet and glass shower screens wouldn't be up. The site manager told me it is a problem Singapore wide and the stock would only come after CNY. Need to verify this. Anyone with HO dates around mine having this problem too? Hubby refused to move till house is ready and fully functional. He doesn't want any forms of reno/ rectifications after we have moved in.

Went to lightings.com.sg to get lights for the whole house today. Some of those that I got. For the bathrooms Got a couple of these in different sizes for parts of the house For my living area 1 icecube for the balcony And another similar effect light but the crystal one for the passageway Only downside is that for these two lights, the bulbs cannot be changed to energy saving bulbs Very pleasant service from Adeline, who patiently served us (we were fussy and changed our selection a few times) Awaiting delivery next Saturday. Updates on house: Cabinet base up Gas heater installed KDK V60WK fan installed Timber strips for area in front of kitchen laid However, tiles in the common bathroom are in the process of redoing. Asked the uncle tiler what happened and he said the tiles were not strong enough. But nobody informed us about it. He's redoing on his own.

That's a lot of time. Then you can do homework and choose contractor/ ID wisely =) You're doing a major overhaul? Just to share with you. My reno is about 26k for an EA. We've outsourced electrical and painting works. Sanitary wares/ kitchen sink/ taps/ toilet accessories - $2.4k from Heritage Hob/ hood - nearly 1k from EF Electrical - $1025 but not rewiring of whole house cos electrician said wires are still quite new. We only changed a few light points, change all the switch plates to MK and Clipsal, telephone points for all rooms, heater switch, new SSOs, 2 new SCV points. My electrician did say that rewiring of whole hse for 5 rm is $1500. For lightings, you can save if you're not into designer stuff.

I think this revised drawing for the wet kitchen is nicer than the 1st one. A dash of red makes it more refreshing. And I love your wardrobe laminates! Mine's in the same colour combo but different types of laminates. I think yours look better.

A Simple House For A Simple Couple In Old Airport Road
bigeyedfish replied to Chinchye's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Heh, no I mean the way your tiles are laid. Yours is green. Ive chosen orange. Your green is definitely nice but I didn't see this colour when I went to buy tiles. -
Bro, I was quoted one lump sum of $120 for whole house for SSO (change to MK) and the light switches to Clipsal.
-
Very nice!!! Did you install for whole house or just living? How much?
-
From butterfingerzz's pics, her glossy laminates look very very swee. I have also chosen glossy laminates in cream. Hopefully will turn out as nice.
-
Good luck on your reno. Hopefully things are progressing well. Our target for HO is also before CNY.

I like your mum's idea ;) Better safe than sorry when you have guests over and they push the doors.
