I am trying to create a modern comtemporary looks. My kitchen cabinets are grey and my tv consoles n shoe cabinet are grey white. Now I am having headache over my feature wall. Wonder whether solid or wood will blend better. Glossy laminates usually look better than Matt but once scratched, very obvious. That is what happens to my white glossy MacBook

Anyone try wood with solid color? Does it blend?

My carpenter suggest putting those thick laminates inside the cabinet under the sink instead of those thin white laminates. They mention it will be longer last and less prone to water and moisture. Any comments?

Actually, if you want the effect like Begof mention, can get the rough clolored sticker from DIY shop and stick but it is not easy to stick for big piece. Small piece ok..I did it myself before...

In general, gate are close mah..The default HDB ones are actually on the gate...Usually, I thought there is a metal plate for people to stick it on the iron gate?

Weird, for those who did wrought iron gate, why didnt they put unit number like those in HDB? As in on the wrought iron gate itself...Instead, they stick it on doors, walls etc...

Guys As of today, my opinion is Jap still make better fridges but it doesnt means samsung is lousy. It really depends on what exactly you are looking for. For instance, Panasonic inverter is more power friendly than Samsung models but Samsung make good fridge. Give another 10 years and I am sure Samsung will lead a host of korean brands which will overtake the japanese brands. Look at their LCD TV technology. When Sharp introduce LCD TV panels, people are asking Samsung who? Now, people are rushing to buy Samsung LCD TV.

I totally agree..If anyone dont believe, just drop by United Square and try get the "Special Promo" items once you see the sat newspapers. You chiong down once the shop open and ask for the things also dont have..Haha! Things sold before shop open..haha! I tell them it is unfair because shop just open and all sold out?They give me stupid reasons and are wasting my time only. After shopping for electronics for 15 years, I feel the best price and service is those neighborhood stores like Goh Ah Bee, Everjoint. If anyone dont believe, just go check and find out. I dare to say 90% of those stuff they sell are cheaper than all the "so call" megastores. The only time I encountered Goh Ah Bee price is higher than Audio House is for one going to discon Samsung LCD TV..We just use rationale to think. Is it possible for shops with lots of salesman walking here and there as compared to shops with just 1-2 sales person?

There are some cheap carpenters to do box up if you just wanna do box up. If you get those project/ ID carpenters to do box up, then have to pay $100-130/ ft due to their skills. Of course, there are direct carpenters in this forum. One of them is Jack from JS carpentry? I saw his name being mention a few times and I believe he is those economical priced ones because his price is direct factory. If you just wanna box up, look for this type.

It is same as kitchen cabinet. Like 1ft of cabinet top cabinet = $100 for example. Assuming u have a 1ft full height box up (full height = top, mid, bot), it will be estimate 3 x 100 = $300.

Wonder why so many ppl like to buy from them. I went to their united square outlet before. One word, "SUCK". I saw a promo there and I went there 1st thing in the morning after seeing the advertisement etc but they told me all sold out already...People call in to reserved blah blash blah. lots of gimmicks From then on, i never step into their outlet again.

maybe i make it clearer..My 30 x 30cm, he say horrible but the latest batch still acceptable but definitely not up to his standard. The same tiles comes in 60 x 30cm which i think might be better. Seriously, I have never seen this tiles comes in 60 x 60 after visiting Hafary and LHS

if u email those reputable sink manufacturer such as elkay etc, they will tell u topmount and undermount sink are different. Both are mounted differently. However, seems like in SG, ppl use topmount as undermount too. Therefore I think we need familiar folks like Jaskel to advise.
