  2. thanks bro! nope end up we didnt do the wallpaper. decided to spend the money on something else. hehe 95% completed liao! hahaa! left with some stuff here and there. Should be all done within this week. My t-blog a bit behind schedule la~ hahaa Really happy with the end result of our place. Should be moving in next week!!! whoohoo~
  3. woot! looking good! oh btw, we have the exact same bedroom door! hahaa
  4. Thanks! The sofa is the most expensive peice of furniture we bought and we love it alot! hehe~ As for the Rinnai Hood and Hob, we got a pretty good deal. Have sent you a PM on the prices~
  5. Continuing from the last post... - Rinnai Hood (RH-995CT) & Hob(RB-3SS) - Panasonic Fridge 464 - Samsung Washer 8702 - BOSCH Oven HBN 331E2J
  6. After MIA-ing for awhile, it's time to upload more photos and progress! Will give a mini showcase of items that we have bought over the period of renovation! Here goes... L-Shape Sofa from Furniture Club @ IMM Both of us like fabric material but was worried about spills and stains on the sofa. We decided to get this sofa set after the sales lady demo-ed the water-resistance capability of the sofa! It uses a combi of teflon and fabric material, thus it's water resistance capability. We choose bright red for the sofa! - Americana Dining Table and Bench from Picket and Rail @ IFC The picture doesnt include the benches we bought. - 2x squarish coffee table from Castilla @ Sungei Kadut - From Ikea: Klippan 2-seater sofa and Besta Bur Study table.
  7. wooo~ it's no wonder your wife missed the place, it's nice! Looking at the prices for the area now, I was lucky to get my flat before the price went north~
  8. Hi hOurStyle, thanks for the well wishes! And I sure hope i dun disappoint you. I should be uploading the makeoer pictures soon! Just got back after a week+ away. Helllooo annjoy, thanks~! We still had to buy lightings for the living room and other areas. For the living room, we removed the lighting in the middle and added a ceiling fan to that point. As the ex-owner were using halogen lights for some points, the room will be quite dark if we carried on using it. so... we changed it to normal PLC lighting so that it is sufficient without the middle lighting. Will show you some picture later to explain better. We are really happy with the decision to hack away the portions~ so much more space now... hehe. Yea... within walking distance I heard there are plans to build a primary school on one portion of the open space. :S
  9. Hi tower, thank you for the congratulations! We bought our place at valuation, $410k and we're at level 12. Recently there is a new fanatic going on at the empty plot of land in front of 318B.... Kite flying!! So many kites especially during the weekend. Very pleasing to the eyes. Somehow it's relaxing seeing all those kites in flight. Where are you at now? (Edit: I just saw that you shifted to hougang! )
  10. bro i agree lah. it's an owner's decision to choose your own contractor. If you're not comfortable, dun choose. 用人不疑,疑人不用!The first time i met Jason, I had a pretty good first impression and was comfortable talking to him. think that is very important when selecting a contractor. If you cannot really click with your id/contractor or if you have communications problem, how to work smoothly right? Cheers and good luck to all reno-ees!
  11. wooo so fast ah! icic! Well, chop chop transformation!! Hope everything goes smoothly! yea! man utd fan~ ehhee. going to Old Trafford at the end of the month! cant waitt!!! hehe
  12. I think shouldnt be any problem. If it's the screw type then relatively easier, can even do on your own. hehe. If it's rivet type then need a bit more work, but should be able to do if you have the right tools. You ask jason lo, he most prob can help you change. I asked him to change the my window handles.
  13. Hi hi necrosis! although i'm a bit slow... Congrats on your new place and hope your reno go on smoothly! Dun worry ah, so far my reno with Jason is pretty smooth. Some of the work might not be the fastest, but the workmanship is pretty decent, especially the carpentry. So far so good. Jia you!
  14. hahhaahaa~ no lah.. Only hack the areas that are crucial. Kitchen actually we wanted to overlay the tiles.. but my contractor gave me a very special price for hacking and relaying the tiles. soo... hack lo! hahaa So far it has been a very good experience renovating with him.
  15. Here's some pic of the kitchen demolition~~! Kitchen (Hacking in Progress) Kitchen Entrance (After) Minor problem encountered... After removing the washing machine partition in the kitchen, we realised its subtle initial usage.. i.e. to block people along the corridor from looking into the living room, and to hide the clothing hanging on the bamboo poles to be visible from the living room. After some deliberation, we decided that to keep curious onlookers from peeping in, we will put up “one way mirror” film on the kitchen windows. That's all for now..
  16. Start of renovation We started our renovation in the mid of October. The hacking took a few days as the amount to hack and dismantle was minimum. Here’s some picture of the hacking process.. Living Room (Hacking in progress) Living Room (after) Study Room (Before and After) Here's a view of the hacked Living and study room from the kitchen area. Kitchen pictures will be in the next post..
  17. so humble! pressure then will have good results... right???? hahaha! Cant agree more!
  18. In my bomb shelter initially. then later when they paint the shelter, shift to the common room that is more or less done up. Musical chairs lo. haha~ Most of the furnitures yet to deliver to my place..
  19. ahahaha true true~ my reno should finish latest by month end~ cant wait to move in!!!
  20. broo, 5rm no stairs for sure! hahaa~ that picture was to give an example of scandinavian style design and decor ma. Hehe.
  21. my place's reno is coming to an end soon. should be completed by month end latest. oh ya ah.. these few days i call him, he's always in tampines! hehe.
  22. Our reno has started for awhile already. My posting here are a bit retrospective ah.. got to write faster! hehe btw, removing the w/c and sink did not affect my tiles. I dunno if it's normal practice, but for my case, the w/c and sink are not cemented to the floor. They are "bonded" to the floor by silion and some bonding mixture on top of existing tiles. So after they remove the fixtures, the tiles will show. One minor disparity is the colour difference between the "covered" tiles and the other tiles. Nothing a good acid wash cannot remove i guess? hehe demolition pictures coming up! hahaa.. it's our maiden renovation journey, so we had to put a little more effort into the prep works.. But I cant help to think that some things we might miss out. If not for this forum ah, i think worst still. Our reno sure kanna tok carrot head and will miss out a lot of the details.
  23. Hi Chinchye, your place is nice lah. And it's in pretty good condition man. The previous owner did the renovation recently? Anyway, congrats on your new place and hoping to see more pictures!
