  1. May I have the contacts for the Indo company you are ordering from? I want to source for suitable bedroom furnitures.
  3. I will be meeting with my 1st contractor this saturday to talk about the touch up areas, and to get him to arrange all the touch up in a day. Been so busy and tired to clean up the messy & dusty house every time they come. I went to the Furniture Mall yesterday. They do not have the kind of sofas that we want. Haha, we been particularly fussy about the sofa, especially my husband. We are just looking for a comfortable 3 seater sofa with high backing that can support our neck, and the material used should be plain cotton fabric, with no fancy design. Something like those from Ikea. The colours must be dark blue or grey to make a contrast to our white walls and to bring out the design. Surprisingly it is hard to find plain looking, comfortable sofa. We also went to picket and rail, but they did not display any fabric sofa set. I hope that by next june I have the budget to get CC to do up the empty space in my living room, and gradually into rooms.
  4. Hmm, my whole house reno is around 40k. We bought our flat from the 2nd owner, and was surprise they could live in here for 5 years without any reno. I got 2 contractors, therefore got bits of problems. All the problems are from my first contractor, WH, they got me a bad painter and a tiler. My problems created by WH has not yet rectify, and the contractor has not been contacting me recently. Perhaps he is waiting for me to contact him. Currently I'm buying more time to spot as many mistakes as possible so as to rectify all problems at one go. Been too tired to clean my entire flat week after week when they come to solve few of the problems, and then I found new problems again. I have been wanting to contact my contractor too, but since he did not even bother to tell me the deadline, I will just take my own sweet time. I'm not going to renovate my 3 other rooms, but I love to add in more furniture or change my current furniture to those DIY by CC. Seeing their good quality kitchen cabinets, tables and stools, I didn't want to buy from outside. It is going to be yet another big project, but I guess I can wait and spread it out over the years. CC has completed all the necessary for my kitchen cabinets and living room area, with fireplace. Both of us are super satisfied. Right now we are hunting for a set of fabric sofa. Do you have any recommendation?
  5. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?au...;showentry=5160 Welcome to my blog
  6. Hi, yeah, me and my husband love country house. Especially my husband, he love those old country concept look. If he can he will lay bricks on wall and etc. Of course i love his idea but it is not practical. I will scrub the tiles like mad. Country concept did our living room area and kitchen for us, total less than 20k. We didn't ask about the individual price for the fireplace though. My fireplace look very much different from yours. I find t-blog troublesome, so update my reno process on blog instead. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?au...blogid=578& I have been guessing, is your contractor Creations from the Heart?
  7. Hi, ID is interior designer, they will plan and design the whole house for you. They will also provide you with the 3D design. 3D design cost money. As for contractor, they do not do design or provide you with a 3D design. If you already have a design in mind, engaging a contractor will be much cheaper. ID will usually source for other contractors and sub contractors to work on your house, thus it is more expensive. Usually the contractor has a fix group of sub contractors working under them, therefore their charges are cheaper. They are many who know good sub contractors too, and they will engage their services direct. However it is troublesome, since you have to do the coordinating. Hope it helps!
  8. hi, how much did you pay for the fireplace and where did you order from. It is exquisite. Ya I agree that fireplace adds coziness to our place, when I sit beside my fireplace, I also feel the same.
  9. i like your kitchen too. mine is also a country style theme, but found out tblog too late, too lazy for one now. the price you pay for the kitchen not expensive at all, worth it
  10. congrats, hopefully your reno will go smoothly, no major problems. i have always wanted a flat a tpy, but my husband wish to remain in the east, so looking forward to see more of your updates, it will be interesting.
  11. hi usually gas pipe will run from outside then to kitchen. my contractor quote me around $90 for box up. If you don't box up, will be quite ugly leh, hehe

  13. hi, i chance upon your t-blog & your house is amazing! I love your bay window, & I can imagine sitting there reading a book. It's a cosy corner which I love to have it in my house. Hopefully, my country style house will turn out as gorgeous as yours. you can visit lovely deart @ causewaypoint & http://www.countrydeart.com/. they have wide selections of country style decor. wow, breathtaking!
  14. hi, from what I know copper pipes rust, that's why it is painted. since you are getting s/s pipes, why paint over it? after installed, you can buy those s/s cleaner & polish to retain its shine! hee, hope this help.
  15. Hi, I just bought a AO Smith water heater, 40L which cost $450 including installation. It's an energy saving water heater, US brand. Can contact the boss, Sunny, www.aos-bathroom.com
  16. i think the prices charge is reasonable, it's general contractor price. Perhaps you may want to find a carpenter to check quotes for wardrobe and display cabinet, to find out if your contractor overcharge you. check our with your contractor what type of ICI paint he use, and how many colors you can choose from. also type of material use to build the wardrobe and display cabinet.
  17. mine is a 4A resale flat, only slightly bigger. Changing everything with 20k budget is not possible. You can try finding yourself a window specialist, door company etc to replace what you need, it will be cheaper than to find a contractor to do it for u. since you have budget constraints, you can consider overlay tiles, instead of hacking & retile. bedrooms can consider floor laminate instead of overlay. bathroom walls can tile half or 3/4 of the wall, kitchen to hack off existing tiles and do cement plastering instead.
