  1. hihi seashell, The Kitchen laminates - M3998HL (Horizontal Yoko Cocoa) is from "Jennings", while the wardrobe's - EWW2312NCC (Lorriane Walnut) is from "Black Magic".
  2. Hi preciousjam, We dun know done by who leh. Actually, quite ashamed to say, we really trusted mr yeak and plus we are quite busy with work (+ quite lazy), we didnt go inspect everyday. So we also seldom see the workers; only seen them once... there were 3 of them, quite young, not uncles... so dunno who is ah hui leh... But i must say, we felt the tiling was nicely done... hehes, although we not sure how "lousy" tiling look/felt like. Tiling is the most important, so i am glad we got mr yeak do for us.. hehes..
  3. laminate chosen for Kitchen upper and lower cabinets: Design of Kitchen sliding door, using the same laminate as the cabinets: Drawing of one side of the kitchen This week will continue with the plastering of the 2 walls at Study room & Living room, and fixing of the electrical points. Aircon to be installed next Mon, 16 Nov. Mr Yeak confirmed that will finish all works by 1st week of Dec. That's all for 2 weeks' of work done. Have a great week ahead!
  4. Laminate chosen for our MBR Wardrobe: We have 2 silding doors; each door to be "divided" into 3 sections - The middle portion will be covered by this laminate while the upper and lower sections will be glass. Mr Yeak said adding glass will increase the costs, but he's willing to absorb the additional costs for us. Yippe! Interior Layout:

  6. Crizto glass shelf: - 2 x 50 cm shelves for MBR Toilet = $36 x 2 - 1 x 40 cm shelf for Common Toilet at Kitchen = $28 Crizto 2-tier Corner shelf for MBR Toilet = $34 Baron White B-303 Toilet Bowls x 2 = $250 x 2 - for Guest & MBR Toilets
  7. Sink Mixer = $135 Tempered Glass Bowl - Transparent Black = $110 - for Guest & MBR Toilets. However, we are not installing as per the pix; we are having a 4ft solid table top in Galaxy Black Baron White Basin 457 = $50 - for Common Toilet at Kitchen
  8. Stuff we have bought. We bought all our kitchen and toilet accessories from Royal Fanco [135 Jalan Besar]. I must say the boss, Henry, was very friendly and nice; he showed us all the items (except for the hood, hob & oven) for us to feel and see, before confirming our orders. Plus, all the items arrived in good condition. Turbo Hood + Hob = $780 Cuizino Oven OV728X = $450
  9. Study Room with 1 wall hacked; this is to be the dining area. Intending to add a glass panel.. Again, you can see that the workers have stacked their stuff neatly at one corner We have inspected the tiling done; so far so good, we tot they were pretty good. The tiles were laid evenly and we couldn't feel any rough edges, at least for the wall tiles. Couldnt feel the floor tiles, as we were wearing shoes... but from the look of it, seems quite good. Cant wait for the carpetry to done up and see the full effects.
  10. Tiling Done for Guest Toilet at upper level: Tiling Done for Kitchen: Tiling Done for Common Toilet at Kitchen: Cant really see the effect yet... will update again once the carpetry's done.
  11. Updates.. This is the 3rd week of our Reno liao.. During the past 2 weeks, completed items were: - All Hacking (done during 1st week) - All Tiling (Kitchen + 3 Toilets) (done during 2nd week) One thing i am impressed with is that i felt the workers are quite organised. Each time we visit the place in the evening after the workers have left, we noticed that all the tools and equipments were always stacked neatly at one corner. Not sure if this is the working norm of all contractors lah, but at least this make me felt more reassured lah... Tiling done for MBR Toilet:
  12. Hi Angel81 & Nekorin, Thanks. My RHB loan's finally approved liao. Was so relieved cos mr Yeak olreadi started work and we were so worried that the loan wont be approved. However, i must say RHB quite inconvenient loh, cos the atm card issued to us cannot be used anywhere else and we need to do a interbank transfer for the monthly instalment. Somemore they dun have a IB login facility so cannot login online to see if funds were transferred to the RHB bank a/c correctly; will have to visit the branch to update the bank book loh. But for their low 3% interest rate, i guess it's still okay loh..
  13. Hi Berry Surprise, Congratulations & Welcome to RT!! I am happy that u are getting ur new place.. when is the completion appointment? My new house is currently "work in progress". When we OTP in May this year, we oso didnt inform or seek our parents' approval lah... haha... it's only after that that we brought my hubby's mum go see see look look to let her "approve"... Btw, is your contractor 1 of the highly recommended one? Who? U have a nice long kitchen and i like that the store is in the kitchen rather than in the living hall. I have a relative who hacked the storeroom and built cabinets, which make the kitchen looks brightly and roomy... Maybe u can consider hacking the storeroom and the entire wall to the living hall and have a glass sliding door instead... kekes, just some suggestion... Good hoh, u can "link" ur common toilet to bedroom 2... happy planning... keep us updated with pixs k..
  14. Hi Batman & Rondy, My flat is abt 5-10 mins walk from cwpt... we bought at below valuation at $416k (valuation = $420k); it's abt 12 years old. Though it's below valuation, $416k is still quite loh, if sell next time, likely to make a loss (touch wood!)! Cos woodlands is quite "ulu", unless u have been staying there or like the area; not considered a "prime" location i think. But we like it cos we grow up at woodlands and all our friends and my hubby's family stay at woodlands... Also can go JB, nearer than gg town (if no jam!). Hi Angel81, Yah, very easy to get Mr Year, if not, we can go "harass" him... haha... However, hope dun have alot of defects leh... for your reno, were there many??
  15. Hi upnorth!! Congrats on finally starting ur reno journey and also taking mr yeak too! mr yeak must be very happy that your house is in woodlands, which is near his place. He is currently doing our place too, oppo causeway point, and he's happy that it's near his own place... i used to stay at blk 159 marsiling; love woodlands area... so great to see a fellow woodlander here! Ur Mbr's so big, so envious... if u didnt build a long desk along the wall oppo the bed, could have done a WIW there.. Are u just living with ur 2 kids? If so, dun need to have a designed study room, cos they could have a study desk in their own room as well? Jus my personal view only, hehes, i no kids yet...
  16. helow rondy, Thanks. my quote is $35,750. Yah, mr yeak is just staying a few blocks away from me... hehes, dat's why he said take my job very convenient for him... hehes...
  17. hi Nekorin, But at least got approved. How come u didnt want to try other banks to see u can get full loan? I heard RHB more ngeow than other banks? Btw, how long did they take to process the loan application?
  18. Toilet half-done Close-up. Funny how it looks with the tiles gone, like some patterned lines issit? If not for reno, wouldnt have know it will look like this. Anyway, these are only pixs taken after the 1st day, kinda feel that the progress is quite smooth and fast. All hacking are expected to be done by the 2nd day, Tues, followed by the removal of all debris on the 3rd day (didnt know removal have to take whole day!). Tiling will probably commence on Thu. Haiz, still no news from RHB on the loan application. Keeping my fingers crossed will be approved for the full amount.
  19. Hacking... continued. Wall outside toilet at kitchen half-done All the kitchen cabinets being tore down and "parked" at balcony area MBR - all cabinets being taken out MBR - with the cabinets being "flattened"
  20. Updates... 1st & 2nd Day, 27 - 28 Oct - Hacking/Demolition works Must say it looks like a lot of work done. But one thing quite satisfied is that the workers used cardboard to cover up all the floorings and some walls near to the "hacking" sites. Even the stairway flooring are all covered up nicely. Living Room - Walls covered up nicely Kitchen - Everything to be gone Kitchen & Balcony
  21. Hi necrosis, your rooms and living rooms seem quite well maintained, however the toilets' conditions looks poorly maintained though... I oso have big pipes in my 2 toilets as well.... not covering up might be a good thing cos might be problematic in future and boxing up the pipes make the bathrooms look smaller. But u'll be overhauling the entire toilets right? sure it will look great after the transformation! Is ur reno starting soon? All the best for your reno...
  22. oic... hehes... i hope ur reno will start and end smoothly... btw, any1 applied for reno loan with RHB before? I am now awaiting for their approval, just submitted the application last wed... Heard from pple that RHB's rejection rate quite high... keeping my fingers crossed...
  23. Hi rainbowgal, welcome and congrats... Wish u a smooth reno journey. So in the end, u selected ur tiles...? We went to Sin Lek, Hafary and LSH; utimately decided on Hafary. Heard from Ah soon and Jason that they dont recommend Hafary cos heard that Hafary's always out of stock for tiles and dun give them rebates. But mr Yeak recommend Hafary instead, cos he felt the variety at Hafary is better. If u are gg to Sin Lek again, can look for May Chia. She was quite helpful when we were there, but true that their variety is limited compared to LSH & Hafary. We feel LSH's service okay but not much suggestion in helping us choose.. and their tile prices are more expensive than Hafary like say, 20cts per tiles. We liked Hafary better, cos their tiles seem more modern and to our liking. hehes Just sharing my views.
  24. Hi lord, Welcome and congrats on ur new place too. Mine is still in progress (ie. reno). U getting ur keys soon, and it's year-end, better to confirm early on ur reno, cos i heard year-end is a rush period. U planning to do alot of reno? Show us some pixs leh...
  25. Hi ling3bzr, Haha, issit you? He called me last mon, 19 Oct. late nite to ask if we are still interested. Did u spoke with him that day? Hehes. If it's you, must really thank you hoh... fri i dun know, but we met him yesterday to select tiles lei... maybe he go in on fri and back in sg on sat.. Btw, how come ur reno tuu from aug?? when u starting? Hehes, thanks. Congrats to you too.
