  1. Yah.. saw your thread over there too! Lieblingsg's taste is not cheap..I've seen his ideas and comments in the various threads over there have never posted in my hometown yet.. just sneak in and look nia.. The kitchen and loo I really like is the one found in this forum under Reiki's thread-Reiki's sanctuary... that's how i got my idea of putting my hob on the short-side of the L. HDB flat never looked so gd! But of coz the cost wasn't cheap either.. He had some practical advice on cable management and hiding as much wiring as possible.
  2. This is the wardrobe I'm planning to build. Hopefully, it will be much cheaper since there's less carpentery. Lilithfiend, have gone to A Lighting Entreprise in Geylang and several others along the Geylang stretch. Will probably purchase my lights from A Lighting or Toyomi (the shop next dr). Have not spoken to many designers coz I feel kinda "bleah" about them. Most of their websites have more or less the same designs (feature TV walls, false ceiling, L-shaped kitchen with sink at the shorter end and washing machine behind..) Xianz.
  3. only walls black..Ceiling will still be white
  4. Didn't have time to shop for lights in M'sia so it's back to Geylang for me. I went to a lighting shop at Upper Serangoon (next to Ideal House IDs) and was shocked to see the exact same lights selling for double the price! If u don't do homework, will really kena chopped! Also went to Ideal House and spoke to Rick to see what can be done abt the kitchen layout and lighting. He will give me a quote by this weekend. However, after talking to him, I don't think he's gonna come up with any innovative ideas. The only useful point I felt that he gave me was not to enclose my washing machine in the cupboard because of moisture and heat. His suggestion for the LVR lights were wall lights or cove lights..
  5. I'm going to spray paint mine white. I'll see if I can take a picture of the one I painted with brush.. Painting by brush is not very nice... can see where the paint dripped but I figured if I hang it above, you can't really see the details..
  6. heheh... exactly wat i was thinking.. Ikea is going to be my new best friend next mth. Just got a call from my lawyer.. 2nd appointment postponed will 25 June coz need time to clear the loan
  7. Yes! But with black legs.
  8. Set! I'm going to buy spray paint liao!
  9. Hi baby, check with you.. when u spray painted ur bird cage, did you put something inside the bird cage as backing when you sprayed it so that the paint won't be "wasted" or did you spray paint it as it is? I painted one of my bird cage with brush and paint but it's a very slow process and was thinking of painting the other with spray paint.
  10. I'm on a low flr, so they probably can carry it up. Definitely cannot go into lift... Anyway, I've dropped the idea liao.. really no space for the table
  11. Was thinking of using 2 Ikea countertops to use as table. or 2 square tables so that can merge to 1..
  12. Welcome to RT, fellow 3 -rmer! R u staying in Lor Lew Lian off Upper Sgn Rd?
  13. I'm planning to have a table that can fit 10 -15 pax comfortably for bible study or meetings. So I don't think I'd have a lot of space left.. . Originally, I wanted to take my grandma's 30 yrs old 10ft round dining table for my place ( solid wood and still in excellent condition). But realised that after I placed the table in, I probably won't have space to walk around the chairs... which is a pity, coz it's a really nice dining table- very mid-century.
  14. Thanks, Gimz! It's really useful!
  15. Thanks, gimz! If I can't have the lab sink in the common toilet, then I will put it outside the loo. It's mainly to handwash clothes. A lab sink looks like this: lab sink
  16. My sofa/guest bed is in the CBR. There's no sofa in the LVR. Only the dining set. I think I really need to go visit some Ids to get an idea of my lighting and my kitchen.
  17. I bought the Bennington C600 multipoint heater.. advantages of a storage tank heater without the tank+the speed of an electric heater without the cost. Bennington C600 Have not used it yet though.. will let you guys know when I start using.
  18. How much did you pay for the chute? I read that there are rubbish chutes that cost $400! Is that the norm?
  19. Nice blinds... are these from hunter douglas?
  20. Err... the only light above the dining area will be the Fanco Aroma ceiling fan light..
  21. Kitchen layout not confirmed yet, but will work layout around my sink coz I've been wanting a nice big single bowl sink for a LOOONGG time. My only concern for the bathroom stuff is if my lab sink too big for the common toilet.... it might be too wide. I don't want to use pails to handwash stuff coz it's rather bad for the back. I'll see how when I do actual site measurement.
  22. Problem is this is that my LVR will be my dining rm (it will just have a dining table and chairs nearer the main door and maybe a display cabinet somewhere), so there won't be space to place any flr or table lamps. I m placing some led track lighting at the other end of the LVR (nearer storerm side). If I extend the track lighting all the way ( almost the entire length of the LVR), I'm worried that I will have flickering lights near the ceiling fan side.
  23. What can I say... great minds think alike. The sink is 800mm x 500mm. Is your Sink's brand Bravo or Rubine or the Korean one? I know the Rubine and the Korean brand came with a sponge holder, which i almost got. But May, the sales person from Adamas, told me that some of her clients who bought the sink with the spongeholder broke the peg that holds the sponge holder and it couldn't be fixed, so the spongeholder was "wasted". Being the "chor-lor" person that I am, I'm quite certain that I'd break the peg one of these days, so decided to skip it (with much tears and regret). How much did you pay for yours? If it's much cheaper, I'd go back and bargain some more! Didn't take any pics, but found some on the web: MBR loo light (brighter than common loo light..) Common loo light Kitchen light (2 of them)
