  1. Hmm... I wanted to but my contractor was saying that HDB doesn't allow it anymore coz the stainless steel ones don't have a netting below or something which is now requirement whereas plastic floortraps have..
  2. hmm.. looks like I have to go down to the paint store to personally look at all the grey paints, coz Misty looked more grey than Solitude on the computer..
  3. Storeroom rack- From Tony (his advert are all around Fernvale Vista) Feedback: Called on Fri, ask to install on Sat. He say Can! came on time and installed real quick! Hi Fifteenmay, Can i check with you how deep your shelves are and how much it cost?
  4. I like the induction hob..pretty! The blinds are from Ikea? was also thinking of getting it, but the grey one.. wah..everyone posted their pics yesterday.Lilithfiend, you...
  5. Wah... I one day didn't go into RT and there's so much updates!! It's looking gd! I'm glad your painter worked out well. I like your glass dr for the loo and the greige color!
  6. Pinnacle's gate look like this, but my gaps btw the grilles will be even. My windows grilles will also have same design.Vertical grilles with 2 horizontal strips across..easier to clean than horizontal grilles
  7. How much did you spend on your grilles ah? If I rem correctly, yours is wrought-iron? I also dunno why mine so ex.. I know aluminum gates are abt only $200-300. Maybe I should change my gates to aluminum and leave my window grilles as mild steel? That way, it will cost below $1K..
  8. Harros, Harros! No worries, T- blog quite easy once you get the hang of it.. if a computer dinosaur like me can do it, you won't have a prob at all! Nope.. mine is a very old and tiny 3S. Only 64sqm.
  9. Thanks! I think the light coloured toilet tiles would look less dramatic but will hopefully flow with the kitchen look. Aaron quoted me $580 for each window grille based on the specifications I stated (powder coated, fixed grille, 2 inch gap) He also sounded very busy and wasn't keen to do an on site quote, so never mind lah. I wasn't keen on F&A actually (long story...) but his price was the cheapest out of the 3 quotes I called, so I took them in the end .. (Ultimately, tt's all abt cost..) I hope they will do a gd job with the grilles, will let you guys know how it turns out!
  10. How does one decide btw practicality and looks? I would really like a long wooden dining table, but a glass top dining table is so much more practical. A wooden table would have stains, scratches, scuff marks over time, whereas a glasstop dining table would be so easy to clean! But a wooden table is so much warmer looking than a glass table... How? How? How? cannot decide.
  11. No leh, quite alright what.. My 2 window grilles (LVR & BDRM2) were $400 each. My gate was $520. But the design is customized lah.. Will look like Pinnacle@Duxton's main gate. Oh, btw called your town council locksmith.. no can do. They only do your area. Wonder why my town council doesn't have a locksmith contractor? It's actually a bit scary for me to see the progress.. the realization that I would be moving out for gd hasn't fully hit me yet. With each stage of reno (and with each cheque I come out), the reality of me moving is getting closer and closer. It's different when I was living overseas alone. Now, with me living away from my parents while all of us are in Singapore, I feel different... like I'm all grown up!
  12. Here's a closer look of the common toilet feature tile: Had originally wanted it to be silver, but decided to go for a less contrasting color & play on textures instead. Kitchen cabinet & tiles all gone: Toilet wall all gone too! Will place a pocket sliding dr there for the common toilet. They are going to do waterproofing & tiling these couple of days.. praying that the tiler will be gd and it would look nice. I've settled my grilles & gate with F & A Aluminum. Black powder-coated mild steel grilles & gates with 2 inch gap btw each grille. Let see how it turns out.
  13. Where my wardrobe is going to be: Extension of MBR toilet - wall partially erected Where my MBR sink will have to be My new sewage pipes So nice & clean Common toilet will no longer have black tiles & black feature wall as per previous post. I've gone to the other end and opted for white & light grey instead
  14. Wow! I can't believe what 3 days of hacking can do. I knew on paper that I would be hacking quite a lot of stuff, but it was only upon seeing the place after being hacked that I realised how much was hacked. Before: Wall btw LVR & BEDRM2 After: Wall btw 2 bedrms gone;5ft of wall btw LVR & BEDRM 2 gone I can now see the main door from the MBR
  15. Ehh... I didn't even notice it!!
  16. All white. Less easy to see finger prints when you open and close the cabinet doors.
  17. Ikea is cheap only if you are planning to transport the materials and install the wardrobe yourself. If you are asking them to deliver and install, it may turn out to be the same price as a customized wardrobe. If you intend to use the Stolemen pole system, try not to use their shelves as it's only particleboard that will sag over time.
  18. Love the print! How many coats of spray paint per chair?
  19. Hey, sorry... I blur. Don't know how I missed that.. Quite similar, hor?
  20. Take pic of your MBR leh... I only saw the white plank laminate in your LVR like Ossify's.
  21. That's powder-coated mild steel. I clarified with Steven from Metalworld.
  22. I had originally wanted to do the same thing as you since WM will probably be used only once a wk, but this ID I was talking with advised me against it. He said that the WM needs to be well-ventilated even when it is not being used, otherwise the cabinet drs will mould and warp and WM parts gets rusted faster. Not sure how true it is.. Did your ID say anything about it? Will you also be leaving the cabinet dr open when u r using the WM? But I do agree with the rest that this layout looks more spacious and "shun."
  23. Went to Balestier to choose my tiles. LSH was just too crowded and they didn't have anyone to serve me, so after a while, I left and went over to Hafary. MBR loo was straight forward.. I didn't want any feature tiles there. Just something clean and simple that I won't grow tired of. It's the kitchen toilet that I'm having a headache as I wanted a whole wall as a feature since it's so tiny. The 2 other walls will be a plain ordinary white glossy tiles. (a)I like the grid pattern of this tile as a feature wall. Don't think it will accumulate much dirt btw the grid since it will be at the dry area. (b) But I also like the shiny, shimmery effect of this tile Of coz, the ideal would be to use the shimmery tile as a flr tile, like this but I can't because its not a 30x30 cm tile (Smaller tiles are needed for toilet floors so that the tiler can do the slope to the drainage hole. I may change the flr tile of the common toilet to another type of black tile..something not so rough so that it's easier to clean and less likely to accumulate soap scum.. but the general look will be this. So what do you think? (a) or (b)?
  24. My daybed from Hock Siong came yesterday! They couldn't keep it for me any longer, so I had it delivered. It's 2.5 ft by 6ft, abt the same size as a single bed. I bought the 2 cushions on the daybed as well..The mattress is still nice & firm, but will probably need to get professional cleaning for the upholstery though.. I will be using it as my sofa. Love the legs on the daybed It's about the same length as my common bedrm windows I have no idea how the workers will be working around the daybed when they start hacking though. Finally took a picture of the pergo laminate I will be using.. Vintage Venezian
