  1. Updates on reno : Not much has been done except the electricity. Officially, it's not possible to ho by 30 June. Alan passed me a similar tile as skirting for my staircase. Not decided yet......... I will discuss with my wtb tonite before reaching any conclusion.
  2. Oh no, u mean after my 'hacking' problems, I will have problems with scratchings etc My nightmare just started.....................
  3. Aiyah, so envious of u people........... ho soon liao. mine is nowhere in sight, sighs
  4. alan called to 'negotiate'. he asked me to accept just changing the skirting tiles only as it will be 95 per cent similar to the original tiles. secondly, he said even 'professional' tilers cant tell the difference...... omg, when contractors want you to change flooring if you do hacking, they tell you it won't be nice to just replace back the same tiles as it's from different batches. when they are footing the costs, they tell u nobody can tell the difference, even professional! what rubbish logic is it????????
  5. Yup, second time I not gonna be so chin chye anymore! Dunno why for my hse, so many mistakes............ I told Alan to replace the skirting and the staircase flooring. Not gonna accept it as the colour will be different if they don't change the staircase flooring as well.
  6. Mistake after mistake! Previously, they hacked my wall tiles wrongly......... I decided to make things easy for them. Now they hacked my staircase skirting wrongly again! Alan offered to replace my laminate wood skirting or normal skirting back. How can just replace normal skirting since the colour will be different from the normal staircase tiles already? This time round I am really angry
  7. It's been awhile since our last update. Hmm, things are moving still but just plain lazy to update We chose the power dekor laminates for our rooms. It's java teak, same as xvirusga76. As Ah Wei is too busy, we were assigned to another carpenter. After one week of taking the measurements, the carpenter came up with very simple design with not much details. I am not very impress! My wtb decided to take things into her own hands. She took one hour plus to come up with our wardrobe design. I was teasing her that she is much better than the 'professional' carpenter with his ONE WEEK's design. Her drawing :
  8. ok, let me reiterate, Uncle Soon is not in financial trouble................ He did 50 per cent of all HDB projects last year. I believe he made quite a bit over the years already. It's just that it is not wise to accept too many projects whereby the bank loans are not approve still. According to my banker's fren, it's just take 2 working days for the bank to access potential clients.
  9. Uncle made lots of money over the years already Since he is managing so many projects, he is just taking $$$ from those who can pay him first to settle instant payments. If I am him, I also dun want to use my 'own' money to pay first. I definitely dun think he will run away. Far from it! His business is too good liao at the moment! In fact, I saw a few of my neighbours asking him to do some work also Just by doing my work, he got a few other works just by being around the estate..... Cool
  10. That's because Uncle Soon almost completed 6 projects but their bank loans not approved yet so he needed cash to pay sub-contractors! He asked me to pay him 10k cash with less than 24 hours' notice.
  11. Thanks for opening up your hse for me and pridilaw Your hse is very nice and big! Interesting to see your hubby demonstrating the samsung lock.
  12. halo, we paid $1500 for it!
  13. halo, we got a very gd deal for it as it was a 'reject' by his customer due to the fact that the delivery guys were not able to squeeze it into the lift or stairs. Well, one man's meat is another man's poison I pm you the price liao.......... You should get other smaller sets at navinzi.
  14. I am doing L-shape wardrobe also instead of intial plan of the normal 10ft wardrobe. Ah wei came and discussed with my wtb. He said L-shape wardrobe cannot do sliding door. My wtb also quite disappointed............
  15. Updates on the progress of the reno : Common toilet One side of mbr's wall tiles The other side The aluminium top track for the folding glass doors are almost done
  16. Yup, I think glass is pretty cool! We are using lots of glass also
  17. See u guys on sat! pridilaw and I will be there around 2.30pm though. If you guys stay a bit longer, maybe can meet there.
  18. We met up with Alan on friday to discuss about our house. So far, Alan has been pretty contactable and quick to respond. We also met the legendary Ah Wei and the new bunch of tilers. Let's hope that the tiling will be much better than the previous ones that did booy's house and ours.
  19. aiyah, can I and pridilaw come to see your place too???
  20. Ha ha ha, dun worry. Your htb will bare the costs with u Indeed, it's very expensive to get married in singapore!
  21. Hmm, it's mainly done for commercial buildings. We dunno what's the effect will be like for normal home. Hope for the best..................
  22. Sure, that's what forum is for ie. to share info and experiences We got our bathtub from poh joo. The bathtub itself is not expensive. $240 for bathtub $660 for 6 jacuzzi jets $45 for wastage something, cant remember $25 for access panel Total cost : $970 I think the price is before gst. I think adamas maybe cheaper at $930 but dunno if inclusive of all the accessories. No lah, didnt do much research on the storage heater. Joven brand seems pretty common and not much complaints online. I think the main reason it is popular is becos of the pricing. We paid $290 for the 50l storage heater. I think price is before gst at poh joo also. Ariston and ao smith is more expensive.
  23. Our reno came to a standstill recently due to the delay of the slide and fold glass panel system. Yes, it's confirmed today. After the aircon trunking for the living room is up, they will start work next Monday for the aluminium top track Picture of the system :
  24. ha ha ha, having the right size is very important!
  25. Continuing the search for our sofa, we went to Katong Mall's Casa Italy again.. Sad that the sofa that we like cannot fit in our measurements.. So Casa Italy is a NO GO.. Still not discouraged, we went to Evov at Balestier point.. The sofa there are very nice and modern.. and best thing is that it is fully customisable from the length to sofa layout.. The one that we are eyeing costs a whopping $2500.. Above our budget again.. I believe we are going to have a new home without a sofa liao.. Have you tried Navinzi at enterprise one (kaki bukit)? http://www.navinzi.com/ Nothing much on their website though but the quality of the leather sofa is pretty good. We have been to see quite a few brands of sofa even the high end ones but chose theirs due to pricing and quality of course! They got promo at $1995 for 3+2 full leather sofa. For us, we just want quality and simple leather sofa.
