any shops in particular to get electrical stuff from? apart from TV lah...that one waiting for SITEX. like harvey norman or courts or....? maybe somewhere with a huge showroom so can see many many models/brands, then decide the model liao can compare with neighbourhood shops/alexander village shop etc...??

this weekend (only sat lah) wanna go buy AIRCON..... any reccomendations/advice? like avoid Best Tech and ...?? Gonna get a system 2, likely to be inverter and the refrigerant will be R410 (to that effect) ..... and with 4 green ticks on the energy efficiency rating... trying to be as pro-environment as possible while still beating the heat...

my mom's place uses sliding door in all the baths, no problems getting jammed or anything...don't worry lah... better than bi-fold some more.... use for many years liao....someone one set didn't change from prev owner....so i think it's been used at least 9 yrs liao...

i'm a dyson fan.... i find the tech and the design very well though out...like how the bagless system is easy to dispose of, without touching the dirt even! like how storage is so compact and no hose hanging here and there... further more, the tech is more energy efficient, this translates to more suction fo the power consumed. to me, it's these design "extras" that make the dyson worth and very user friendly.. miele would me next on my list.....seems pretty good too.

i've done the ikea wardrobe for my mom's place...abt 6ft by their tallest unit ~2.36m costs abt $1.6-$1.7k, including assembly and interior shelving/drawers/doors [not sliding---4 wood, 1 full length mirror] a few contractors quote me abt $1.3k for 6ft by ceiling height (abt 8ft for HBD) and includes sliding doors. i guess if you have any odd corners, then built in can maximize the space usage and you can still buy accessories/drawer units from ikea too, just pass to your contractor to include them. hope this helps.

i've got those "woody" look tiles too....mine's homogeneous....check out my t-blog too... one forummer even said it looks like laminate....hhaha... not sure what's the diff between homogeneous and ceramic...but according to what the lady boss told me, when homogeneous tiles get chipped, it's less obvious, cos the inside is the same color. got mine from sin lek...they have 600x600 and 15x600....so you need to lay out 4 of the 15x600 tiles to make one square...but once laid out, these look more like laminates too.... (but so many lines to clean)

i'm using dyson... very power also....but not cheap either...but cheaper than raindow/dolphin lah... bagless!! and supposed to be more power-friendly....ie. more suction for the wattage...

mine expects bed space.... and when she gets a corner, she 'eat' into our space too.... lucky she's small, only shih tzu... if Alsatian ah, i must buy separate bed liao ....
