  1. Hi Ossify, Read in some other thread that you are going for full height sliding glass door in your house.. could you let me know how much you have been quoted for it and what is the width of the entire thing... Also how many sliding panel and how many fixed... Pls give me your supplier's contact as well... Thanks
  2. I need some help with something - I intend to make a glass sliding door between my kitchen and dining,, I am wondering if this should be full height or 2.1 m high... If full height might cost me a bomb... If it is not full height, is there any danger of the concrete peice on top becoming unstable and fall off?? Also if anyone knows any cheap contact for tempered glass, pls let me know ...
  3. Hey, I like this so much better.. plus it doesn't eat so much into my living room space like my design... Now shall have to calculate how much feet of WIW i have.. Very helpful this is !
  4. Hi Leechaorui, Thanks dear.... Shall put up the 3D pics soon.. in a few days or so

  7. Hi Newnyew, Am just dropping by to compliment you on your talent and creative skills ... from your painting on ur wall, to the improvising of the coke bottle with the glass pcs to the idea about painting the mooi lamp on your wall.. the list goes on ... You are so imaginative and talented !!!! Loving it !! Waiting to see your place after its all done I wish I was half as creative as you are... I shall attempt to make a couple of headboards for my place after watching a very inspiring video.. hope it turns out well
  8. My blog has gone all silent However, I'd like whoever reads this to know that I have had a very very very fruitful evening today - spoke to an ID who has given me an extremely reasonable quotation. He is from a relatively new and not very famous renovation firm(but he has more 10 yrs of experience) , but was recommended to me by his cousin who works for another famous ID firm.. a young chap, very open about pricing and open to clients' opinions - he gives good suggestions to keep within your budget ... I have even got a few 3Ds from him already.. very nice and attractive designs - will probably sign up with him. I was considering Uncle Soon - but since he is so famous for not keeping within his time limit and most of the time doesn't respond to his phonecalls, I started having second thoughts - and the best part is this ID has been able to match Uncle Soon's price and has a few freebies .. So all in all, a productive day for me !
  9. Hi Yuene, Thanks for your input,... Actually I had thought about making the new bedroom as a master bedroom too - but 2 problems - there are pipings right in front of where the new bathroom door is supposed to be and secondly, if a guest wants to use the loo, they will have to walk through the bedroom ! So, I scrapped the idea
  10. I met up with Uncle Ah Soon today. This was actually the 2nd time and he gave us a quotation.. Could anyone please PM me Uncle's quotation that they have received - I want to do a comparison... Hope I can get some help with this.. Thanks
  11. Hey Simon !! Hello !! How have you been? How is your bundle of joy doing? Was looking at his pics a while back - super adorable !!! Also, just to let u know - I haven't tried contacting Henry as yet.. been really busy - but could you pls Pm me his detailed quotation before I get in touch with him?
  12. Wow!! I must say all of you here are very helpful Ossify, this makes my kitchen so tiny and I cant have a WIW.. I have been drooling over numerous WIW ideas in this forum for many months now
  13. I am seriously taking your pointers under consideration We actually prefer not having an attached bathroom... But maybe I should consider enlarging the living area.. space is always good..
  14. Hehehe.. Mickey M - this is the Wife !!! haha It is indeed a small family - just the hubby and wifey - We are actually fine with not having the master room strange but true !! We actually prefer it like that.. lol
  15. You are clearly an expert at this.. hehe.. Yes, the new bedroom will be the master bedroom cos I'm greedy enough to want a WIW. Well, we first intended to join two bedrooms and have a WIW and study quite similar to what you have suggested... But we need 3 double bedrooms Will have guests quite frequently ... Also the TV feature wall as per your diagram will be mounted on the existing beam?? is that possible - to drill into a beam? As for the shoe cabinet - it will be the bottom row along the entire length of the WIW - I am sure I will run out of space for the shoe storage, then I will probably add a second row for shoes... Upon my calculation, there is 11feet from the window in the living room to the TV feature wall - would that be cramped?
  16. Thank you pinkpetter for welcoming me you are one of the more famous forummers here I notice... About the living room - yes it is long but has plenty of drawbacks - for eg. we cant really have a feature wall cos there are either windows/doorways in the way, plus it is much too narrow for our liking, plus not to forget, the dining area also has to be somewhere there... so doesn't leave much room to play around with if I want a feature wall ... what do u think?? We have thought of hacking the wall between the living and bedroom 3 and relocating this bedroom to the back side of the living area, break down the store and make that the dining area.. so now the living area is horizontal instead of vertical and the dining-cum-living is L-shaped... have a look below and pls feel free to comment If you or anyone has alternative ideas to open up the space a bit more, pls let me know, since we haven't finalized any design as yet.. oh and btw, we are going for a euro-classical look with a modern twist.
  17. Hi Folks, Its finally my turn to document my journey. I have been closely following this forum and drooling over the transformations of each of your 'houses' to 'homes'.. all the while nurturing a precious longing to be able to tell my story with the same enthusiasm So I am hoping that I can share my story with the rest of you, and I welcome your help and participation in every way possible. This unit is located at Serangoon North Avenue 1 - very close to my in-laws place - I like the area for its quiet residential feel and simply because I have spent so many years there, that I am comfortable with it. We paid a deposit for the unit on the 28th of july, resale application was submitted on 30th of July and we had to wait for almost 3 months for our 1st appointment on the 22nd of Oct. Needless to say, it was a harrowing wait, and in the meantime I have troubled quite a few forummers by asking them numerous questions, and have been grateful to receive their help wherever possible. Below is my floor plan of my tiny 4S unit.. It is still in the conceptual stage as far as its space planning is concerned - so your points of view are welcome
  18. Thanks for the info Ripples. another thing I would like to know is - does this epoxy paint come only in white? and is this resistant to mould as well?
  19. Hi Ripples, Classy home and very very well put together place you have I notice that you haven't used any tiles in your bathroom - not even in the shower enclosure... is there a reason? what are the pros and cons of that? What about mould growth?? I was toying with the idea of tiling full height in the shower area and tiling up to sink height outside the shower area... maybe I can get a deeper insight into this with your help .. thanks
  20. Hi, I am interested in purchasing an Oven for mainly baking stuff and roasting/grilling also.. Would like to have your suggestions on which brand I should go for - I think I am a little more inclined towards Brandt and Bosch.. If I could have inputs on where I could go to have a look at both brands under one roof to make a comparison, it would be good... Also pls suggest which place gives good deals... thanks
  21. Hi, where is the turbo sale? and till when? can you tell me their website ?
  22. Your wallpaper is very luxe !!! Adds a touch of CLASS and elegance Loving it !!
  23. Hi everyone, Thank you for your opinions.. a different perspective is always important i feel for any decision. For shopping from GZ, I will arrange to send it to the freight forwarder's warehouse while I am there so I can oversee the entire thing... and since I know freight forwarders personally in SG who can liase with their rep/branch offices there, I don't think it will be a big problem. But I do understand that there is always a risk involved... And even if nothing works out, it will still be a good holiday Hope to soon make my own t-blog to record the process of my renovation and will need all your help again !!!
