My reno too was a major overhaul. Imagine 20years flat in almost original condition, everything must go kinda flat. With a tight budget and manage to get a contractor's quote of 25k rather than those >35k from ID's. Bad point is every now and then need to coordinate and tell the contractor what I want , best point is I save 10K. So all and all depends if you want to " spend " and let others do the tiring work for you or " save " and do the tiring work yourself.

I don't think have "those that can see out but cannot see in regardless of light in the room" kinda films. I've ask around most to most I've got is the " solar films and those that can't see in only if there is no light inside " only ( was quoted ard $3psf ). If you have the contact pls PM me.

My contractor did ask me if I wanted this type of window. But when I heard my master alone can cost beyond $500 already out of my budget.

Want To Build An Attic In My House - Any Contractor To Recommend?
MTlot replied to Butoot's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
I have a friend, maybe he can help. PM me for his contacts if intrested. -
Yeah, he's a contractor and not ID so no 3D drawings. All depends on me for the ideas and he'll do his best to match what i want. So mething good bou't this guy is he will give a lot of suggestion too be it on the cost saving side or on the reno works. For the tiles he bought us to the warehouse to get the tiles and he have a lot of ideas but beyond my budget. I get to choose the tiles but i give him freedom to do both my toilets. I'll go take some pics later and post here.

ossify, why 49ft of walls?? Don't really understand? -
Yeah, just met up with contractor and he did mention bou't the wall ( not just the master wall , all walls ). He did assured me he will try the best to cover up everything. We'll have to wait to see the outcome.

I suppose so.Now see budget if enough then do, not enough then put the bed there and save cost.

Hacking And Dismantling Costs For Whole House
MTlot replied to spearhawk's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Nope from contractor, that is what he quoted me. Mine is hack whole hse no walls. What i believe is there is always a price difference when we breakdown our quotation i.e contractor A might be cheaper in hacking works but carpentry works expensive and on the other hand contractor B charge more on the hacking works but carpentry cheaper a lot. So it still depends on what is our priorities before signing on the dotted line. At the end, I believe all of us still want to see workmanship quality. -
Depends on length i guess. For me I'm using 10ft stainless steel. 1)Tiles - included in your reno quotation. 2)Glass - tempered , additional cost ( usually not included in quotation and expensive for tempered glass ) 3)Stainless Steel - additional cost ( usually cheaper due to different grades ) Above explaination is advise from my contractor. For maintenance wise, I'm not too sure for no 1 and 2 as I've never used before. For no 3 currently using at my in law's hse so far quite easy to wipe off any oil stains after cooking.

DEMOLITION WORKS To supply labour to hack whole house wall & floor tiles incl skirting To supply labour to hack existing sink & stove support To supply labour to dismantle bathroom & kitchen fittings To supply labour to dismantle kitchen cabinet $ 3,050.00 My contractor quoted me lump sum as above for my 4rm. This should give you a rough guide on the market rate for the demolition works. -
