How To Burst The Property Bubble
santav replied to Wind78's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
hahahaa.....remove the "market rate" subsidy for hdb flats & revert to "cost subsidy"......then the property prices for all will crash like a tonne of bricks....but then again.....knowing that its human nature to be greedy....the asking COV may now be $500k....... -

well...if it's a solid wood door....you can consider making shelves out of it.......movable partitions......table top......etc.......????
-
well....if your white sink is made of porceilain then there not much to worry except for breaking it.......but if its plastic (aka polymer) material.......then it'll discolour & stain after some time......but meantime, why not enjoy using it 1st?.....should it become ugly later...then shop for a same size sink to change......
-
yes...for large sceen....better to go plasma.....LG has a 42" 150hz plasma going pretty cheap too......

i suppose B&D is good enough for a diy user.......i've got a bosch set......using it for many years and it's been passed around family members for use.....so can say its quite heavily utilised......

i dont think it'll be that bad as the resolution will still go by the number of pixels per sq inch........i've a 50" DLP & the pic quality is tip top for free to air channels.....

Water 'containers'
santav replied to blursotong's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
hi blursotong....i used to be in the same dilemma as you...here's what i do now. i have a 4.3L electric hotpot, a 4L electric kettle, 2x 1.5L cool water flask & 1x 2L cold water flask (in fridge). i boil water using the electric kettle 2 times a day. 1st in morning before going to work & 2nd at night before sleeping. freshly boiled water are used to top up the electirc hotpot. rest are left in the kettle to cool. cooled water are then used to top up the cool & cold water flasks every evening & morning. hope that helps. -
yes, using the electric hotpot to boil water does take a long time. for me, i use a separate electric kettle to boil water. once boiled, use it to top up the electric hotpot & the rest left to cool as cool drinking water.

i'm using akira brand 4L electric hotpot......for 2 consecutive months i've seen a reduction in my pub bill by about $20 since i started using a timer to switch off my electric hotpot during sleep time & while out at work (totalling abt 12hrs) each day.
-
i was quoted $120 per bracket including installation.
