In my opinion, whether he is a superstar or not is doesnt matter. I think most of us has forgotten that he has done many good deeds for the past forumerer here, I m consider one of them. If not bcos of him, i dont think i can save the 10K for my renovation cost. I had had ask my reno buddy to quote and the rest is ID, none of them come close to ah soon quote!!! Yes, for the saving I had, there must be a price to pay. Some frustation does kicks in at times, this is normal as we all are human. If ah soon is so perfect he will be given the title of Renovation God not superstar!!! During my reno, even his hometown guy curse him. He claims that he got his own renovation company too and can do better than ah soon. When i post the question why we all go for ah soon and not him? he couldnt answered. The answer are quite obvious rite? why we all go for ah soon, coz he does meet some expectation and most importantly THE COST SAVING!!! One thing for sure, ah soon does care about his reputation, if not he wont even bothered to call me when i make a big complain here.

Fini, mr lau is the manager of that company. Frankly, this kind of standard is not acceptable. When my bulbs and lighting delivered to me, i didnt bother to conduct a thoroughly checks on the quality of all the items. I merely do a inventory count. During and after installation, found 3 items defects on different day and each time they send the delivery guy for replacement without question asked except for third day. The boss starts to "tango" with me, doubting of my complains and ask "how come u didnt check all the items"?? My reply is short and simple, firstly i m not train to conduct quality checks on lighting. Secondly, if every customer will conduct checks including functioning test, i guess they can only deliver one customer per day. I ask him is that what he wants? His reply is "wat time will be home"?? lolz

Is it a norm to paid for deposit for boxes? Lucky me, my mover didnt charge me anything at all. Probably the boxes are combi with new and old. I just couldnt understand why the contractors or services provider giving **** services, didnt they heard about RenoTalk Forum ?? For my movers i had had recommended alot of my frens and relatives, none of them make complains at all. Coz i did told the boss that, he better not messed up as words travel not by mouths nowadays instead by www.com.

Yap, i took alot of risk engage his service. I remembered one of thread here i did hint that the kind of risk i m took, not many ppl will wanna take it. Such as no proper black or white documentation, mostly verbal and no material specification, paying him cash cheque etc. I engaged him bcos most of the forumerer here recommended him and apart from this, cheap and nice. I had given him a good lecture abt being flying aeroplane and not meeting deadline and responding to after sale service. Hopes he listen and take it well. The most disappointed things that is, the hometeam guy that he put him in-charge of my project. Till now, there are few problems poping up here and there which i m still monitoring, will feedback when the time comes.

For my case, we didnt agreed on how to make payments. He ask for it then i pay him, but i hold on to the last 3K plus after i moved in.

If yr master bedroom space are insufficient, you can build yr WIW at bedroom 2, abt 3 meters wide and 1 meter depth. For laminate wood, my personal preference will be pergo instead of Power Dekor. but cos the s/s piping cannot be cut, unlike chrome, there is still PVC joining @ the bottom... tt is the sad part Just curious, how come the stainless cannot be cut? The bottom joint, if the stainless pipe diameter bigger than the plastic joint then it will look nice rite?

U needs to have some plastering skills to do the job, is not that straight forward. Most difficult part is plastering the ceiling, talking abt ceiling, u sure yr contractor quoted u including plastering ALL ceiling? If yes, good for you. Make sure that all the surface after plastered is smooth. Do take note that the package usually does not including wall levelling but for tiling you can insist to level yr wall before tiling. Oh yes, you cant using plaster paste material to do wall levelling, u need cement, sand and water!! cheers

My experience in the last time is that most of the HDB flat kitchen area tile up to estimated abt 5ft 4" height only using 4" x 4" white tiles. Most of the owner will want to tile up to ceiling height. I dont think it is under building regulation, if yes, then HDB must have failed to comply in the past. lolz In the past, knocking down the kitchen wall to the living is a big no no, reason is that this wall will prevent fire from spreading rapidly. However, nowadays the rules seems to have relax.

Whole hse plastering does it included the ceiling, if yes, go for it.

Kartell chairs can it be wall mounted too? if yes can consider. Probably i will get a small side table top instead, those whole pce is tempered glass. Good idea? Furthermore, is waterproof and match my bathroom glass door!!!

The DIY guy gives the wrong information, you cant used a handheld grinder to remove the grounting.

No worries just plaster over the tiles as long as the condition of the tiles are ok, such as no deep cracks lines and hollow tiles etc. For backing, u can ask yr contractor to do tiling on the hob area, if not go for glass panel, aluminium or stainless etc. As long as is cheap and nice. The purpose for tiles in the kitchen apart from aesthetic looks, is meant for easy to clean after heavy cooking. If you can confirm that yrs will be light cooking then just plaster over it.
