Wow no wonder total reno cost so high cos you are doing so many carpentry. I only did minimal carpentry in my place. The pics look good so far:) lots of storage space!

WAH New, the dining chair and table look good. Love the wall you painted. Much effort! Oh you have to be very careful with the kartell ghost chairs. My colleague bought the reproduction ones and said they do scratch easily, especially if your guests sitting on them wear pants/skirts with buttons on the backside.

Are you appointing an ID or already appointed one? The id will supposedly help you to check for defects. Common defects include checking the tiles (floor and wall) in the entire house for cracks/chips. Checking the wardrobes surfaces and door surfaces for scratches/dirty markings, etc. check the wardrobe doors can close properly. Checking the parquet flooring and skirting for scratches and cracks. checking the water pipes for leakage or clogging in the basins/WC/shower, checking the air con works and the remote controls also work, check the cooker hob and nob work. check the door security system phone. check the water heaters are working. check and knock on all the tiles and hear whether any tile returns a hollow sound underneath (cos it means the tile will crack very easily in future as developer didn't lay the tile properly with sufficient cement). Basically, check everything that you see. Depending on how yim chim you are, some colleagues suggest I bring along a ball and roll onto the floor to check for unlevel flooring. My balcony ceiling was also not level as the developer didn't do a good job and I told them to make it level. Check to see whether any possibility of people breaking in by climbing over from the corridor into your balcony/bedroom window, etc. Hope the above helps.

I think you overpaid ley... $630k seems high for a 2 bedroom old unit. But ok lah you already bought but do be patient in future hor. Sometimes house hunting can take years... I know with almost the same amount you can get a brand new 3 bedroom unit in Ivory @ Joo Chiat, but that was in Mar 09 period. The bad thing though is it is just next to a Hotel8X A friend of mine bought The Trumps next to Kembangan mrt, 2 bedroom 900+ sq ft (but is 99 yrs leasehold) for about $660k in Apr 09. He recently just sold it off after living there for 3 months (moved in on 1 Jul 09 and has to move out by year end) and earn over $200k+ profit! wow...

I love your house! Very nice reno and deco. Love the overall concept and how nicely everything blends together. Really an incredible transformation. Deserves to be published in Home & Decor. Will be sure to buy a copy

Hi HKching Congrats on finally getting your key to the new condo Just wondering if you are installing window grilles since your son's bed will be built onto the bay window. Probably would b good to install. How much did your total estimate worked out to be? I completed my reno for new condo 2 months ago for a 3 bedrm also but just did minimal and reno alone costs about $15k and another $16k on furniture, lights, curtains, electronics and plants. Hope it can be ready soon and you can move in quickly look forward to seeing more pics.
