Thanks guys! Changed the sensor and its fine now. Apparently according to my in-laws, it was a 5min job. And it cost me over $100 *gulp* Wish I know how to do it myself

Hi, Need some advice here. One of my aircons stopped working today. Can't turn it on with the remote controller but I could use the on/off button on the aircon panel to switch it on. The same remote control works on the other aircons, so I'm sure the problem is not with the remote control. Can the aircon's remote sensor be repaired without having to change the entire aircon? Cos I don't wanna call the serviceman down and pay him to tell me that it can't be repaired =) My aircon is out of warranty unfortunately...about 6-7 years old. Thanks for looking!

Hi everyone, need advice on this. I'm currently sourcing for quotes to renovate the two toilets in my new place (5 rm executive HDB). These are the things that I wanna do: 1. Hack and replace both floor and wall tiles 2. Install sinks, showers, toilet bowls, etc (labour only) 3. Install glass partitions for shower area 4. Glass door entrance for MBR toilet and bifold door for the other one 5. Solid surface top with built-in cabinet 6. Change the toilet windows (In other words, hack the entire toilet and change everything) In addition, also has two built-in cabinets in living room and bedroom to remove. Plus repaint entire house. I've been quoted $12-12.5k by two contractors (both of whom are close associates of my friends and both say its already the best quote). Toilet accessories (sink, toilet bowls, shower, heater, etc) I have to buy myself. Reasonable quote? Please advise. Thanks!! =)
