Sofa Salesperson Say Some Sofa Cannot Go Up The Stairs
SamTheMan replied to jkkwek's topic in Home Furnishings
The maximum length for a sofa that can go into a lift is 220cm on average, this is through for most condos and HDB flats. If the sofa is 230cm, it's fifty -fifty that it can be carried up a stairwell. If it is more than 230cm, the sofa may not even make it up the stairwell. It really depends on the size of the stairwell, salespeople will never want to sell something to you that cannot be delivered. If you like something really long, it is best to measure your stairwell first. The height of the stairwell must be higher than the length of the sofa. -
Hi Komme, Best thing to do is to read this forum thoroughly and then go to the better retailers and get the salespeople to explain to you. Also, try to avoid the retailers with poor service.

Hi Hotstuff, Can you post a picture of your actual sofa? The original picture looks like a 3D rendering. Would like to see picture of actual product.

If it is only the cushions you can DIY, very easy, all you need is a screw driver, stapler gun and fabric. Turn the chairs over, unscrew the seat cushions, place the fabric over the seat pull tight and staple the fabric below the seat cushion, once done, screw the seat cushions back on the chair.

Spend more. Good leather sofas are not cheap, cheap leather sofas are not good.

Hi Ernaz, I mean Singaporean buying from JB, obviously if you live in JB you should buy from JB. I am not saying that JB is worse than Singapore, I am saying we are still 2 different countries, if a Singaporean shops in JB there is no legal recourse, similarly if you are Malaysian and you buy from a Singaporean company that is true as well.

Are These 3 Mattress Brands Safe Bets ?
SamTheMan replied to farkingnuts's topic in Home Furnishings
I will go with 4 star, made locally, both King Koil and Slumberland has production in Malaysia. I would take Vono over King Koil -
I don't mean to add insult to injury but why would anyone want to shop for furniture in JB. As it is there are enough problem shopping in Singapore, in Singapore at least you can bring them to court if you have problems. JB is in Malaysia, our law doesn't even apply. If budget is a problem shop at IKEA or Seahorse. You'll probably end up spending more shopping in Malaysia if you run into trouble with the retailer.

When has Species ever sold German sofas?

The way I see it, Seahorse is excellent value for money, their furniture is downright cheap. But then again if you have a very limited budget, IKEA is always a good place to go. My suggestion is to shop around a little bit more and if you can live with the design of Seahorse furniture, go for it.

Lotus is strictly speaking not a established brand in US and around the world. Lotus is a Thai brand that is registered in Belgium. The only selling point for Lotus is probably how they stitch the ticking to make it look expensive. -
Check the classifieds on Saturday. You can usually find a carpenter that will overlay the laminate. Not expensive.

The best treatment for mould on furniture is white vinegar, clean with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water and let it dry. That should kill the mould and prevent the mould from coming back.

$2,000 is a lot to pay for a synthetic leather sofa. Anyway, synthetic leather is not recommended because it lacks tensile strength, it tends to tear in a year or so. It's better to pay a little bit more for genuine leather.

Never Buy Furniture In Species In Furniture Mall
SamTheMan replied to angry about species's topic in Home Furnishings
Good question. How does angry know it is PU? The other question is how does VeiVei know it is not PU. -
Basically, nobody will do the Ikea styles with solid wood. Solid wood is usually used in rustic and classical furniture. Top international brands will also use MDF or Particle board. You are almost better off buying from IKEA.

Should Id Be Involve In Furniture And Lighting Shopping?
SamTheMan replied to rayfox's topic in Home Furnishings
If you want to go with your ID, you should choose the shops. ID's will choose stores where they can get a commission, you may end up paying more.
