Very simple explanation. You bought your Isaiah mattresses from OM, they are direct importers. For the same money it will be better value because you skip one layer of margins. If you buy a Sealy, the retailer has to make money, the local Sealy office has to make money, the factory in Thailand has to make money. Seahorse is a good idea, they also import directly so good value for money.

Maxcoil is a local brand made in Batam. They use some imported materials to make it look like they are from Europe or USA. Still made in Batam.

To add to this post. Given that quite a few of the smaller furniture stores have closed down leaving customers high and dry, I suggest that consumers ask for the company registration number. The first 4 digits will show the year the company was founded. Try not to buy from companies that are less than 3 years old.

They are made in Malaysia.

Try Lifestorey.

The simple answer is that you won't get a better deal at EXPO but it is convenient because you get to see many brands at the same time. Going to Sungei Kadut may be more efficient but do take note that Sungei Kadut is the absolutely low-end. So long you are prepared to get low-end products then Sungei Kadut is the place to go.

Saw and ad last week, OM was advertising a leather sofa for less than 3K, says it is made in Italy.

Doesn't help, these guys don't negotiate. They don't have to.

Can you share with us what you bought and also the price?

Dear Woody, I did mention that as consumers you can pay attention to how long a company has been around. I know some consumers want to give new companies a chance and that is a good thing. But for consumers that don't want to risk their money simply look at the GST or Company registration number. If a company is less than a year old, maybe best to avoid. Cheers,

The worse thing is that these people will be back and open new stores and people will buy and be conned all over again.

Still a good price
-
Total price $350? That is dirt cheap

Actually, I am not. Tilam King has not technology only buy parts and assemble, not R&D. But, there are many more retailers that import directly, just need to go find them.

I absolutely agreed but there is a minimum that factories cannot go under.

Napure is not from Germany, Napure made in Malaysia, clearly stated on their website.

I have been a follower of this forum for a long time and basically this is a good forum for new homeowners wanting to buy furniture. I have some thoughts I would like to share with everyone: 1. Buy from established retailers. There have been many many consumers burnt by dodgy shops in the last couple of years. Many of them have paid deposits or even made full payments at shops and these shops have closed down without delivering product. On this forum alone these shops include: Executive Living, The Montella, Species and Sense Art. A good way to tell if the retailer has been around a good long time is by looking at their GST Registration number or their Company Registration number on the sales orders. The first 4 digits show the year the company was registered. It is tempting to buy from such companies because they will make a lot of promises on warranties and give big discounts. But if they close down, who is going to honour their warranties. For example, Executive Living came out promising 5 year warranties on their sofas. What difference does it make if they offer 10 year warranties. They have closed down. 2. You will get what you pay for. There is no such thing as a super deal in the real world, if something is really really cheap you should really really not buy it because good furniture costs money to make. So if something is really cheap either the quality is compromised or the seller does not plan to deliver. So what is really really cheap: 1. Fabric sofas below $800 2. 3 Seater leather sofas below $1200 3. L-Shape leather sofas below $1500 4. Spring mattresses below $500 5. Pocket spring mattresses below $800 If you find the above items below those prices and they are not on clearance, think really hard. As consumers, you work hard for your money, spend wisely.

Jaview is a fan of Fantique. Why would he buy from Rozel. Rozel is not that bad. You get what you pay for, as the saying goes "pay peanut get monkeys" This is always true, you can never ever buy good products with a little money, good products come at a good product price, cheap products come at a cheap product quality.

Dear Angyee, To get mattresses at reasonable prices you will actually have to find retailers that import their own mattresses from factories directly. I do not want to mention which ones. All the popular brands are imported by brand owners and then they markup a percentage to sell to retailers then retailers markup to sell to you. Everybody needs to make money to pay their employees, this is reasonable. Therefore, if you go to a retailer that sell many many brands, I can almost guarantee you that you are paying a unreasonable price.

This company is amazing, they can customise a mattress that is made in Germany in 3 weeks. They must be flying it in. I wonder how they make money, the airfreight will probably cost more than the mattress. It is also very interesting that Fantique has 2 very strong fans that by coincidence created accounts on exactly the same day. Simply amazing.

Goodnite is made in Malaysia. By the way, what is wrong with made in China? iPhones are made in China. It is not where it is made that matters it is how it is made. Slannie is clearly promoting her brand of mattress that she bought. It is also not made in Germany on the website, it clearly states internal parts only.
