  1. That is not possible, if you read the warranty card, it will just say spring system. In fact, the warranty for all mattresses only cover the spring system and all companies will also include a clause that says they will not honour the warranty if the mattress is not in a sanitary condition.
  2. You can try killing the mould with a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water, wipe the drawer then let it dry and put back. Cleaning with detergent and water adds moisture and makes the mould come back.
  3. When a supplier misses delivery dates that is cause for a full refund, go to small claims, you will be able to get your money back.
  4. For RM19,000 you can almost get a European sofa.
  5. That's because if you buy a princebed mattress the sales person would probably get a bigger incentive.
  6. Hi Kalimantan, Furniture unlike technology is highly fragmented because the barriers to entry is not high. It is actually very easy for anyone to start a sofa factory. There are literally thousands of manufacturers for sofas all over the world which is why this forum is very useful for consumers to share their experiences. I will just provide you a list of retailer broken down into the tiers for your reference: Top Tier Retailers, European Products usually of outstanding quality: Space, Marquis, Proof Living, Xtra, Molteni and Co, Minotti LeMercier's (note, LeMercier's carries top tier and mid tier brands so big price range) Mid Tier Retailers, may be mix of Asian and European Products, quality reasonably good: Natuzzi(note, Natuzzi is a mass-market Italian brand so quality not as good as the top tier, but cheaper), XZQT, Lifestorey, OM, Lorenzo, HTL, Domicil, Harvey Norman, Castilla, Furniture Club (FC Homes) Mass Market Retailers, usually Asian products IKEA, Novena, Cellini, Nova, Star Furniture Group There are still many more retailers out there, but the above are the better known ones. Good luck with your shopping
  7. The best to buy is Leather Master, it is called a leather care kit, available at all good DIY stores.
  8. If they honour the warranty I don't see the problem, have you called them?
  9. Chances are that they won't cancel the order, best you can do is negotiate to buy only the amount of the deposit.
  10. There are many places that sell copies of the Eames lounge chair just look around the furniture stores in Singapore. I think it is harder to find copies of the Aeron chair.
  11. Actually $1800 - $2300 for a full leather L-Shape sofa is achievable if the sofa was in Buffalo hide or the if the supplier used split leather for some portions of the sofa. It is a good price, if the seller is willing to write everything clearly on the order it should be quite safe. My suggestion is to just pay a small deposit and then pay up the difference if the product delivered is what you ordered.
  12. Funny, I suppose you should be looking for a very firm mattress, try Seahorse.
  13. Cool, you have a great deal on your sofa then.
  14. Made in Singapore, good price good quality.
  15. Hi Hotstuff, For a 3+2 leather sofa the leather used is at least 10 hides. The price of $1618 is amazing. I would seriously inspect the sofa upon inspection because whoever is selling this sofa is not going to be making any money at all.
  16. Very interesting thread, everyone joined on the same date.
  17. Seahorse sofas are so cheap that you can probably replace them every 2 years. They just don't look very good.
  18. Indonesian teak is typically plantation teak, meaning they were planted and harvest, the trees are younger and theoretically the grain patterns are not as good looking as Burmese teak. Burmese teak typically comes from older trees, but if you like the grain pattern on the Indonesian teak piece it should not make a difference.
  19. Maybe you can try shopping at HTL or Domicil. They are known for their leather sofas, you can first check out their leather range and use that as a basis when shopping for your sofa.
  20. I work in the furniture industry, I am currently using a fabric sofa, but I bought a protected leather sofa for my mother 3 years ago, the leather is still in good condition. I would just say that synthetic leather is not a good option when it comes to sofas, on headboards or even dining chairs it would be OK.
  21. This is not true, there are some very good furniture retailers in Singapore, therefore they don't have any negative reviews here, here's a list of retailers that sell furniture that don't have complaints on this website: 1. LeMercier's 2. Marquis 3. Lifestorey 4. Domicil 5. HTL 6. Proof Living 7. Natuzzi 8. John Erdos 9. XZQT 10. Space 11. Molecule 12. Star 13. Mondi I could go on, in every industry there are good companies and bad companies. Your would notice that if you are willing to spend a little bit more money you get better service and better product. You also notice that IKEA doesn't have bad reviews because they sell cheap products, consumers know that cheap products come with compromise on quality. There is cheap, there is good, there is no such thing as cheap and good.
  22. PVC is the traditional material used for synthetic leather it tends to feel more plastic than PU, PU generally feels more like real leather. However, PVC is more stable, PU has a greater tendency to peel. However, generally speaking synthetic leather has a tendency to crack or tear over time. You are definitely better off getting cowhide unless you have a serious budget constraint.
  23. If it is a new condo, I can almost guarantee you that a 2.3m sofa will not make it up the stairwell. You should really get something shorter than 2.2m or something modular. Otherwise, you end up buying something that cannot be delivered, I don't think the company that sells you the sofa will give you a refund. In my experience, newer condos have very small stairwells, I know because I have gone and measured them myself.
