Where To Buy Woods, Timber, Planks, Plywoods, Laminated Sheets
limlim replied to KayLan's topic in DIY Corner
Hey what do you mean by non bench saw type? I have been going to them and trust their quality. they cut at the back of the shop with a huge table saw type. Those that can cut 8 feet plywood. Always been straight for me and i think many forummers here have sent me thanks on recommending to them a great shop, you should try it bro. Another reason i trust them cause they been using indonesian and malaysian plywood. If your plywood got holes surely means you got the China plywood most shops carry which is very cheap. I have been to Tampines to purchase very cheap plywood. one piece can cost 30 dollars 8 feet by 4 feet but they will never cut. If you cut it will split. Only good for putting on floor as cheap backing. And Hiap Hin also carries it, but they only have it in their store. If you buy it they will advise you against cutting cause will surely split. -
I Got 2 Pcs Of Custom Cut Ply Wood - Is It Expensive?
limlim replied to ahwong's topic in DIY Corner
His is furniture store market rate. i was told per foot square for 3/4 plywood is 3 dollars. So if 8.5" x 22", should work out to about 6 dollars a piece. The other piece will be about $2.25. So about 8 dollars for both. Plus drill one hole 5 dollars maximum. 2 holes works out to $18. So both actually about same price. haha. -
$24 for heavy duty 150kg. just multiply accordingly. one step 8 dollars
-
Haha. Actually the room lock $6.50 is really bad, i just got one from a locksmith at CCK when i wanted to replace my office lock. within a few weeks is spoilt already, the centre part stop coming out. I now stick to the brands that are more expensive arnd 9.50 to 13 dollars. brands include Winner, Makoto Japan, Nelon and POP. haha. They all have some instruction paper inside to make it easier to learn how to undo. For main door, nothing beats VIRO and Nelon

Hey people, the hardware shop I have been going to is offering a big discount on ladders at wholesale prices cause they have been importing their own. They are selling heavy duty 160kg ladders at $8 a step not those light and easily spoilt ones. Most shops are selling at about $10 to $12 per step. Go check out this great offer. Ideal for changing lightbulbs, and even painting. Bought one yesterday and feel that its an offer not to be missed. Address is Blk 348 Jurong East Avenue 1, unit number is #01-1245, just opposite chinese garden MRT. Call them at 65652141 if you want it to be delivered.

hey people. thanks for supporting my thread. glad to know we are happily doing DIY for our homes. and i also would like to thank everyone who has pmed me to share stuff they know. Anyway, i have managed to get the boss to give me his email or the company's email so we can just email him to enquire. Email is hiaphin@hotmail.com. i got him to promise he will reply emails within 3 days. So i hope this will help everyone. but alot of wood still needs to see to understand and believe. haha. have fun everyone. anyway, its been proven, stainless steel screws will not rust. i have been dipping a screw i bought from them in water for the last 3 months, the boss challenged me. i ever bought a stainless steel screw from a hardware shop outside my house and it rusted. So i guess this uncle is honest. I am impressed after getting played out by some shop keepers. i only trust hoe hup and Hiap hin now. Anyway for everyone who emailed me about stainless steel bolt and nuts, the dimensions or thickness avaiable is all metric. meaning 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm. above 12mm, u must get from those screw manufacturers. eerm the product u mentioned, i have used before. i bought a similar one for 13 dollars at hardware shop. haha, 3in1 aircon cleaner.

I think they have aluminium sheets and not sure about just metal sheets. those aluminium and i think zinc sheets, my contractor who was fixing my roof also gave me the same shop to purchase a small piece of zinc when they patching my roof. So i guess they should have some stuff you need. Was there yesterday to purchase stainless steel screws to fasten my swimming pool floor traps. kept coming out when i started the motors. They have recently added a whole line of stainless steel screws those bolt and nuts one. I have been buying from hoe hup at bukit batok. But they always required bulk. Those who just want a few pieces can try this shop too, the price difference is really minimal. i used to get from hoe hup 100 pieces miniumum, at this shop any amount will do. the price difference is about 10 cents a piece. i think is worth a try for small quantity. most likely 100 pieces, they will also offer me the same price as hoe hup.

Ikea is unstained right? if you treat it for termites for the pine, will be cheaper using treated plywoods already

Where To Buy Woods, Timber, Planks, Plywoods, Laminated Sheets
limlim replied to KayLan's topic in DIY Corner
I was checking out the teak wood is actually quite expensive at defu lane. If you really need alot and on a budget, i managed to get hold of a contact from gul drive or gul circle, a factory that is doing supply to all shops in Singapore from my colleague. I will be calling to enquire and try to put up the price here. The teak wood sold at defu is about $65000 per tonne then they will work out slowly the cost of ur wood. like divide by 72000 then multiply by your feet and size. haha. that what my colleague who was in renovation line told me. so he said you bypass the middle man, will be alot cheaper. Will call and update everyone -
up my findings. going to fix a store room shelve, the going market price is at 9 dollars for angle iron 10 feet long. but this shop is selling 8 dollars for above 20. so those who doing shelfing and know what is an angle iron, you all can try.
