While waiting for the rest of my stuffs to arrive, I received a call from Peeka and I got told that my taobao shipment will be delivered to my place in the afternoon! So happy when I hear this.. the shipment got delayed due to my mirrors and finally it will be delivered to me on the same day where all my furniture are coming in. So excited. Peeka service is really top notched. I received the stuffs about 30 minutes later after I got notified. I bought a lot more compared to my last shipment and this time, my shipping costs are not cheap compared to the initial one perharp due to the volume size of my 2 taobao mirrors. See how the mirrors are packed. They are well protected by wooden crates and bubble wraps. It took me nearly an hour to unwrap the packaging! The mirrors are well protected and no signs of defects! I also got 2 ottomans from Taobao. They came in just nice for my bed side tables! Best of all, the price for 2 ottermans is cheaper than what one otterman is selling in S'pore. Quality is exactly the same!

4 May 2013 All my furniture will be here today! It will be a busy day for me and my CFO! We were all excited and tired through all these delivery arrangements and work commitments. Full house sofa came first thing in the morning. Thumbs up for their services! In my earlier posts about the difficult decision on whether to buy Hommage sofa or the one from Full House and we made the decision to purchase from Full house despite Hommage staff telling me "interesting stories" about Full House delivery... I am glad that I go with my heart and went ahead to purchase from Full House. Good thing about Full House Furniture is that we can purchase through 0% credit card instalment plan and I am very cash strapped after all my household purchasing and it is a bonus to me compared to Hommage where I can only pay by cash or nets. My white sofa with coffee table and carpet My King Size Bed from King Koil Sleep Boutique was second to come. Workers busy fixing up the bed frame. Tada.. my Bed is all setup! Thank god that the mbr can fit the King Size Bed with enough room for both me and CFO to walk around. I have to thank the lady who served us at King Koil Sleep Boutique in City Square Mall. We had requested the bed frame to be done up without a center lining in the middle and the bed frame came in a whole piece. The design we requested has to be made customised so there was no confirmation if the final product will come in the way we requested. So when the bed frame was setup, we were so glad that it was customised to what we requested without additional costs!

Coffee Table is here as well. Workmanship is superb! I love the round round feeling. It has a secret compartment when you turn the table top.. Isn't it sweet? Now I can place my cookies, snacks etc into the secret compartment!

3 May 2013 Full house called me up and informed me that the coffee table and dining table can be delivered today. Wah, so happy! They deliver the stuffs one day earlier than the scheduled date. However my sofa can only be delivered on Sat because the sofa belongs to another delivery team and they are only free to deliver on Sat. I arranged the delivery to come after 5pm as I off work around that timing. They came right after 5pm. The purchase came with free installation and delivery. No GST charges! Tada.. my dining table! Fit just nice below my dining chandelier! Swee Swee..

On the very same day that my golden vodka decal is up, i have also brought my first batch of vodka collection home. They will be on patrol on the top of the red bottle shelving. I can place a total of 15 bottles in one row but i put 10 bottles first for a trial. Not bad for a start. The second platoon will be reporting this weekend.

1 May 2013 Labour Day Hoilday Yeah! Exactly 2 months of renovation and it is almost completed! Today, the stickman is coming over to paste my vodka decal!! Andy is the guy who is in charge of my decal and i can only comment him as Cheap, good and Super EFFICIENT! For those who have been following my thread knows that i am a vodka collector but not to the hardcore type that have every single vodka bottle collection. I wanted to do up a golden bling bling vodka bottle decal in my living room but i am unable to find a good resolution vodka image in the internet. Thank God to Andy! He offered to take a photoshoot of my golden bling bling vodka bottle plus doing some photoshop on the image so that i can get it priinted asap. He took the picture on Saturday and today, he is ready to do the installation! The image that Andy shown me before printing is exactly the same to what will be installed. I didn't expect that the gloss finishing is so nice and realistic. It is just like the bottle that i had! Installation was a breeze. It took Andy just 15 mins to get the whole thing up. The picture is AWESOME! The overall effect is excellent. From my passageway to the living room, i can see the sharp resolution of the vodka decal. 100% $$ worth!!

The taobao clocks that i bought some time ago were also installed. I love this clock in my mbr as i can display 3 photos with it. The colour also blend in with my mbr wall. Swee swee! The one in the living room took me a hour to fix up as i wanted the time to be as accurate as possible to the acrylic numberings. There are alot of designs that you can create yourself. Me and my CFO wanted to do it like a apple shape.. end up like a cartoon pattern. Close up of the clock.

28 April 2013 Beautiful Sunday! Went back new place to do some house cleaning. In the midst of vacuuming the house, someone knocked on my door. Curious and surprise.. how come someone will knock on my door.. tata.. my ID with her hubby came over my place to paint the bomb shelter cover and door step pebble wash! ID hubby painting the doorway pebblewash. I was told that it will protect the pebblewash and prevent from dust and dirt in the long run. Thumbs up for the extended services! A total of 5 layers of protection paint was applied in both the main gate doorway and kitchen entrance.

Hi Beng, Glad to hear that you are doing fine with your ID, as long as your ID listens to your changes and get it done or rectify within the shortest time. I can say he /she is good. I hear horrible stories from other renotalk threads where contractors/ ids abandon projects done half way or process super slow but payment super fast. Promises are not been delivered and house owners are in the mercy of such contractors/ids. So always communicate with your ID well and make sure things are delivered before you make any payment.

It is sad to hear about this. I went through renovation once back in 2009 and the contractor is my brother-in law's vendor who does big projects from the Cathay Organisation. I can say his services are not always top notch but price is the cheapest among all quotations! I realised that communications played a important part when you convey your ideas to your contractor. I always email, sms him and all the conversation are in words. The message always got messed up cos different pple got different understanding of the message. Even now i went through my second renovation, the communications between me and id can get messed up. So learning point is that whenever there are issues regarding renovation, it is important that both parties can meet up and discuss and resolve it. It is really difficult to convey using messages, email or even through phone calls. Another learning point that i had gained from renovations experience is that "Talk is cheap". Contractors and ids can promise you this and that but at the end of the day, are the things and promises been delivered? That's the reason why i only choose close friends or reliable contacts to do my renovation. The contractor that i used in 2009 is good in pricing but after staying in my flat for 3 years, things are falling apart. Workmanship is a important factor to me. If you save a bit on quality, you might spend much more later to rectify. The Id that i engaged now is a close friend of my colleague whom is going through her renovation in May. She also got the id to do up her house so i have no worries whether the Id can deliver the goods and promises. So far, the working experience is good and renovation is in the final stage. Hopefully nothing spoils in the long run.

Bathroom accessories are also installed. MBR toilet rack up. Gotten from Hoe Kee. Cheap and good! Toilet roll on top of biget.. hopefully it won't get wet. Common room toilet. Fixed up 2 support poles for my mum. Mirrors are not installed today because my taobao shipment got delayed. It will come within this week, hopefully i can get them installed by this sat. Forgot to get the plumbers to install my kitchen accessories.. haizz, what a mistake!

Plumbers came in the afternoon. Finally the golden basin and tap will be functioning today! The reason for the delay is that the pipings for the golden tap is wrong. The taobao seller gave me the wrong pipings which do not fit the gold tap! These are the holes to connect under the tap. The pipings given to me don't fit the tap! My plumber needs 2 days to get the pipings to fit the tap and it costs me $50 for a pair of made in Italy piping hoses! Wah piang, the pipings cost me 70% of the price of the tap! But if i will have to get a new tap, the price will be much more expensive! Installation in the process.... Done Swee swee! Wow, overall effect is shiok!

27 April 2013 Citygas is coming to activate the gas connection and plumber is to install the golden basin and tap and the bathroom accessories! It took a mere 20 mins for the uncle to finish the setup! Excellent and polite service! Stove works great and fire is burning big. Tested the rainshower, No drop in water pressure and the water temp is consistent!

26 April 2013 Spring cleaning day! ID sent her men to chemical wash my place. The whole house is so dirty, especially the toilets' flooring have cement at different corners. Toilet bowls are the worst. It is no different than a kopitiam toilet. When I reached my place after work, the mbr toilet is done. Looks clean to me but it has to be cleaned by crook or by hook! Golden basin and tap not up yet because the plumber could not get suitable pipings for the tap. Haizzz

Hi, you got mail. For the blum products.. my ID includes it into the quotation. All my carpentry comes with blum hinges and tracks so I am not sure how much does it cost individually.

I am a absolut vodka fan. Have been collecting vodka bottles everytime i went overseas and so far i have 20 plus bottles lying in my cupboard. My sisters are also very helpful to add on my collection everytime they went for business trips. Just recently, my second sis got me a denim jeans edition of absolut vodka. Just nice to add into my tv console feature wall. In my earlier post regarding vodka wall decal, i managed to get several quotations to paste a customise vodka decal. Responses are great and prices range from $150 - $300 for the dimensions that i asked for. This one was emailed to me last night. Which version is nicer? Option A or Option B? I can say the person who quoted me this is a very fast worker. It took him a few hours to work out the pictures after i sent him. If workmanship is good, my mbr mural will be my next project to work on.
