  1. Can only test it when I got enough energy to cycle from old place to new place. It took me a 90 mins ride to cycle a 16km journey. getting old nowadays..
  2. My storeroom is small, my current place is big that I can store lots of stuffs with 2 bicycles inside.
  3. I had also arranged bomb shelter shelving contractor to come and install a L shaped shelving for my bomb shelter. The contractor was introduced by many neighbours in Fernvale crest and is quite well known in Punggol & Sengkang area. His pricing is good and the materials used are quality stuff! The contractor is super punctual. I arranged installation at 6pm, he came at 5:30pm. Too bad, owner not at home and he waited outside my gate till 6pm. So far, this contractor is the only guy that I managed to contact in the afternoon and gotten my installation a few hours later. Efficient guy with great service! Wooden planks for the shelving One man show Less than a hour.. all done up swee swee Thank god that after doing the shelving, my bomb shelter does not look too cramped! I can even put my bicycle inside! I got another bicycle coming this weekend, need to self deliver from the southern part to Fernvale by cycling up. Let's see if I can fit 2 bicycles in the bomb shelter.
  4. 29 May 2013 My washing machine gotten from the EXPO fair on sunday will be here in the evening. Arrange specially after 6pm as I off work around that timing. The company that sold me the washing machine is Audio House. They are **** efficient as they called me nearly 8 hours earlier to arrange for delivery. Well, even they are available to deliver, the owner is at work and no one at home.. still have to wait till 6pm. They arrived on the dot. Installation was swift and less than 10 mins, they are done. Audio House delivery men are also very professional, the hose installed onto the HDB tap was leaking initially, the connection is not tight and water starts to leak. After figuring out where the problem is, they took another adapter to connect to the tap and link the hose to it.. Tada, problem solved! Yeah! My washing machine is finally up running! :dancingqueen:
  5. Hi Michael, No, not installed on metal frame. It is screwed onto the tiles.
  6. 26 May 2013 Gotten my last electrical appliance for my new abode in the EXPO fair on Sunday. The price is so good that i got it immediately. Price is even cheaper than Best Denki Warehouse Sales. Delivery will be coming today. Hopefully everything comes swee swee.
  7. 24 May 2013 Vesak Day Nice public holiday for me to queue up for great buys. Need a microware for my new house and Best Denki is selling them half price. Only 20 sets a day. For a 22L Sharp microware selling at $49, it is a steal to buy. Reached the warehouse at 9am and there are already 5 persons in queue. Me and CFO got queue 6 and 7. There are also other household appliances for sale but I got everything I needed except a washing machine. There is another EXPO fair going on. Try my luck to see if the washing machine is cheaper. Gotten one set for my abode and another set for my in laws. Nice belated Mothers' Day present!
  8. I didn't consult my ID about this. I made the decision solely based on my findings in renotalk threads. There are some bloggers who are using citygas and having rain shower in their bathrooms. But so far i only read owners having only one rainshower and not install both in their bathrooms. I stay in the lower floors in my block so my pressure so far is excellent. I got a neighbour staying in the 15th floor out of 26 floors, also having excellent water pressure so it really depends on your block layout and water pipes arrangments.
  9. There is a Best Denki warehouse sales going on at Tagore lane. Prices are cheaper than Mustafa and Mega Discount Store! You might want to drop by and take a look if you are getting your electrical appliances!
  10. The next project is to install digital locks for my door and gate. I got a quote from Interlock.com.sg for 2 sets of Gateman F10 locks at a cheap price. *Edit: Got another quote from another company at a even cheaper price. Wow.. no need to gather interest liao..
  11. A roll of 5050 LED strip at $45. Comes with 5A adapter to power up.
  12. I got a 3 plugs extension bar instead of a single gang or 2 gang socket because it is easier to fix up and i can further use it in my future upgrading project (e.g exhaust fan in bathroom, hair dryer beside vanity mirror, etc) I bought a roll of 5m of 5050 SMD LED strip (warm white) and cut it to 2.2m to install in my mbr bathroom. See how bright it is! I pasted the LED strip onto the boxup.. plus further secure it with clear tape to prevent it from dropping. This is the end result. Bright enough to light the bathroom plus giving it a cosy feeling. The DIY cost less than $100 for both bathrooms. Simple DIY that anyone can do it for their home!
  13. These are the tools and materials needed. I got my LED strips from Qoo10.sg.. the same seller that Bro lancified got from! http://list.qoo10.sg/item/MEGA-SALE-70-DISCOUNT-3528-5050/407342594 I got a 2A adapter to power up 2m of 5050SMD LED strip and also purchased 2 sets of 3 plugs extension bar from Japan Home at $9.90 each. I removed the power plug from the extension coil and connect the wires to the electrical connector. In order to allow the extension bar to stick firmly on the inner of the boxup, i used industrial grade 3M tape to secure the extension bar. Tada, this is how it looks like in the boxup..
  14. On the same day, i did some modifications to my lightings in both the common and master bathrooms. I got my ID to install T5 in the boxup box in the 2 bathrooms but i am not satisfied by the lights that the T5 produced. See.. the light is so short and looks weird.. Therefore, i decided to change the T5 to LED strips. Long before i started to plan how my house reno should look like, i had started reading various renotalk bloggers and the DIY gurus on their creative ideas. There is one particular blogger, user name: lancified who did some serious mods on his bathrooms lightings that amazed me. Now with his original ideas, i mod it to version 2. This is what he done to his boxup.. Original version: lancified got his ID to fix up a 2 gang socket in the boxup. Version 2: I fixed up a 3 plugs extension bar instead.
  15. Gam Xia Gam Xia. Reno is a big lifetime project. It is never ending. Now i am enjoying it like a hoilday chalet before i officially move in June. Just Do it. Yeah. That wall is so empty without deco. Best way is to deco something personal since me and my CFO will spend time doing work there (surf net.. face wall..)
  16. 19 May 2013 The first DIY that I done is the deco of my mbr personal corner. I had decided to do a photo frame montage to deco this wall. Previously I used velco to stick onto the photo frames but it was not so lasting.. end up I removed all the photo frames, repaint the whole wall and hammer hooks to hang the photo frames in the old fashioned way. This is the final result. So satisfied! The montage consists of my wedding photos and other overseas trips photos. So wonderful.
  17. 16 May 2013 My ID finally handover the house to me! She managed to rectify all the minor issues and I got the carpenter to add 2 Excel pull out racks to my kitchen. Tada, these are the 2 Excel pull out racks that I added to my kitchen. This will help my mum to retrieve any pots and pans easily. I also got the carpenter to fill up the gap in between my kitchen cabinets and kitchen kerb. The gap is so obvious previously that I think cockroaches and ants can build a nest inside. Finally, the house is fully renovated and nicely done by my ID, New Nyew. All thanks to her that my abode got her new outlook and I felt so looking forward to stay for the years to come. Though ID has completed her project, my DIY project is on its way and I am so behind schedule!
  18. Thanks for your compliment! My ID did a great job and I add on with the vodka theme.
  19. The kitchen mixer is great, I love it very much and it came with a great price that no shops in Spore can offer me!
  20. Yeah, i mounted it on the real ceiling. Never mount it on false ceiling, it will be too heavy to support. I believe the chandelier is dirt heavy depends on how many crystal balls you have.. i have 72 for my set.
  21. Hi Beng, You need to get your electrician to hang up the chandelier base plate first before you hang up the crystals. If you fixed the whole chandelier up before hanging onto the ceiling.. it will be too heavy to install it up! This is what i meant.. Then when you are ready.. you install just like how i did.. one by one..
  22. The chandelier is super fun to install. If in doubt, contact me to advise you.
