  1. More photo of the original condition... BR2 (Study room) and WIW MBR and Common bath Yard
  2. Have the idea of getting a condo since 2005, but didn't make it happened, and suddenly the price shot rocket high that condo dream is no longer affordable... After the financial crisis, property price slide, and our condo dream came back again... We decided to shop for our love cocoon in Dec 2008, and had since browsed through property websites and viewed some of the resale units... Having a new condo and being a first owner is always my dream... hence, decided to buy a new condo instead of resale... Our deal striked just after first view of the show house on 31 Jan 2009... impulsive though, but this is the area we like, i.e. get out of the crowd... price of $670psf might still be a bit high, but we signed on the dotted line without much ado... We want something that we do not need to wait long, and ready to move in after reno... Got the key on 27 Mar 2009, feel so "real" that we finally can have our dream nest... no longer need to go to public pool as we have our swimming pool now... our resort style living Floor Plan Living Room Dining & Dry kitchen MBR BR3
  3. talk to him about your requirements, and see how he responses, and whether you like his idea and the way he manages your expectation... important thing is, you must be comfortable with the ID before engaging their services... i did not specifically look for kelvin even tho his name is quoted in forum... i went to tau design after called them to make sure someone is around... when i went there, kelvin was around... so naturally he is the one managing my case... give thomas a chance if u r comfortable with him
  4. kelvin is the person whom we speak to... met him a few times, first at his showroom when i showed him my floorplan and picture and tell him what i want... then we also met at my new place so that he can take measurement and quote more accurately... signed agreement at my new place... he laid protection sheet the next day... and helped to apply permit (i.e. condo mgmt, PE, etc)... once he got the approval, reno started with hacking wall and sealing of door... we met at his showroom to confirm light points and went through first draft of design... light point is preferably to be confirmed soon, so that they can work on the wiring, while we still have some time to think through the design... we finalised the design and chose material at his showroom last sat, then he accompanies us to shop for lights and fans at balestier... as u can see that we actually met up with kelvin quite a few times, and also call/sms every now and then, so that he understand what is our requirement... especially when you want to have electrical appliance installed, and you need to make sure that there is light point available... for e.g. i want to hv a wall-mounted hair-dryer in the bathroom, so need to make sure electrical point is there... or we want to hv wall-mounted magnifyinig mirror with light at dressing area, also need to make sure that the cable can somehow be hidden... all these requirements you might not aware beforehand, so u need to brainstorm and let kelvin know before all the wiring work completed he holds our house key, so he will go to our house every morning to open door and brief the workers on work plan... they work everyday and progressing well... whenever we visit, we discovered something more is done compared to last visit... so far we are very happy with the service and attitude of kelvin
  5. i saw that straits times article and some pictures of your house on the glass panel of tau's showroom, very nicely done up 2 weeks into reno now... have hacked wall, sealed door, wiring work, false ceiling/L-box... and by end of this week, should be done with painting... hmm, should be able to complete before mid-June... can't wait to move in
  6. I just went down today, they are no longer there Just google, the new address as below: JVD TECHNOLOGIES (ASIA) PTE LTD 135 Kallang Way 1, Singapore 349182 Tel: (65) 6846 2500 Fax: (65) 6748 8366 Email: jvdasia@singnet.com.sg
  7. i just placed my order with woei lee today for the iEasy (R109 remote control laundry system) for $690... for some of you who visited expo you probably have seen it too, the one with light, and can use remote control to move the 4 poles up and down... i went to imm warehouse area to take a look at the actual system and also played with it... like it very much as it required no strength to move the poles with heavy laundry up... however, the boss prefers to assess my new place before accepting the order, because i want to install it above the aircon ledge (slightly out of the yard area) and he was not sure whether it is possible... only after he confirmed that it can be installed then only we sealed the order... i placed $20 deposit as the installation only can be done after my reno completed...
  8. hi, i was at expo (hall 6) yesterday for the home furnishing show and saw some wall mounted beds, you might want to take a look at www.hiddenbed.com... the all-in-one with single bed, desk, cabinet cost around $2688... if u r interested, might worthwhile to make a trip to expo to see they demo how the hidden bed work... the show is until 10 May.
  9. finalised the ID liao... will sign agreement with kelvin tomorrow... we took out some non-essential items in order to keep within our budget... next step probably is to review and agree on the design before the actual reno work can start will post my experience with tau later on, and probably some pictures too
  10. Pls pm me your contact for the lock. Thanks.
  11. hi, am sure that you and ZC are not ID, as no ID will disguise for about 1 year in the same thread hmm, not looking for the cheapest, but looking for the value, incl after-sale service... hv met kelvin 2 times, last sat he was at my place for site visit, so that can quote more accurately based on actual layout/measurement... also get his opinion on our reno plan... i did feedback to him a few items that quoted far too high (i.e. > 50% higher than other IDs)... we are not looking at him totally match or lower than other quotes... we can accept if it's not more than 20%... i think have to give and take... as i do not want him to sacrifice his bottomline either... he has been very considerate, and managed to revise the quotation to match our budget... we are meeting him again at our place tomorrow, as we have some new reno idea that he prefer to take measurement and quote/suggest accordingly... ya, that's for sure, someone in disguise will not post so many pictures my new place near bkt batok, but have not requested kelvin for any viewing yet... i asked kelvin to show me draft design... not the sofisticated 3D plan, but just 2D layout plan... but he said he will only come out with the design after confirmation... is it the norm? this is the first time i engaged ID, so don't know what is the industry norm... as some other IDs did show me the design layout plan, and some even have hand-drawn draft design... i hv another silly question... as i mentioned that i got quotation from 4 IDs, but eventually i can only award the contract to one... but all of them have spent considerable amount of time thinking abt the design and come out with the quotation... so, normally how do you "reject" the rest... i hv never done that before and feel quite bad
  12. this is my first post on renotalk, just registered myself, after reading and surfing through the forum for the past 2 weeks... spent a few days to read through the whole thread, incl the reno blog by Zc31... just want to make sure that the posts are genuine, as i came across some posts in other thread that seems there are ID disguise as forummer for self-advertise have since contacted Tao design and met kelvin at tampines... still reviewing his quotation... a bit on the high side on some items but i believe there is room for negotiation... have a few IDs on my list now - innerview, edgeline and kass design... hopefully can finalise the selection by end of this month
