  1. Selling a Electrolux Frontload Washer (Time Manager 5.5kg) that bought in 2009. The washer is in good condition as it is used sparingly by couple and only operate twice a week. Letting it go at $100. Cash and carry at west coast.
  2. No, both cat and dog won't jump down, even if just second floor I did consider the patio sliding glass panel, which is a fixed panel installed at the side, similar to your picture. However, it will take out significant passageway walking in and out of balcony. Moreover, we don't like the idea that the panel blocked out the view when the sliding door is wide open. So, cutting a hole through the sliding door is more suitable. I have ordered the cat flap and now looking for someone to install for me. Any recommendation of glass contractor is much appreciated. I did contact the glass contractor that undertake the initial work for condo, but they don't take retail job.
  3. Not sure whether it is tempered glass as I can't find the tempered glass logo. Instead, I found a star logo (as attached) with words "FTT<inverted F>". Anyway, I am open to the alternative where they need to replace entire piece of glass panel. Just need some recommendation on any glass contractor who can do this for me.
  4. Appreciate any recommendation on contractor who can install this pet door (pet door will be provided). Basically I need the contractor to cut a hole in my sliding glass door (tempered glass) then install the pet door, so that my pet can access the balcony when the sliding door is closed, when we switch on the aircon.

  7. Congrat qira, seem your reno is coming to an end soon... I did my reno in 2009 (first house), then 2010 (for some reasons I moved) and now I am planning for another reno... so I think I am addicted to reno ... anyway, I regret that I didn't do the flooring last year, so this minor reno going to be dirty and messy I bought one outdoor armchair from gnee hong furniture at their eunos office. Their price is cheaper as they bought in bulk for hotel and restaurant. I am not sure whether they have any outdoor dining set that you want, but you can try your luck. Hope it helps.
  8. I would like to reuse my old curtain which is just one year old and in very good condition. I like the fabric and design, hence, would like to take it with me when I move to the new place . Can someone please provide me the contact who can alter the curtain. I need to trim the curtain as my new place ceiling is lower. Thanks.
  9. got a reply from the ID that the graphic cat is hand painted on the wall, but too bad that they do not provide service just to do the drawing for me. can anyone give me the contact if you know someone can do hand painting on wall. thanks!

Can someone please enlighten if this is a wall decal/sticker or is it actually manually painted on the wall? If this is wall decal/sticker, please let me know where can I get this. If this is manually painted, please give me the contact of the paint artist. Thanks.
  11. for quite some time (abt 9 months) that I didn't access renotalk after i hv done with my reno with tau... i access this thread again to see whether tau still keep up with the good work... and yes, i am going to start another reno again after reading some forummers' feedback on the poor workmenship on carpentry, i quickly check mine, and found that the workmenship of my carpentry is good... i also have the metal stripe, but very smooth cutting... and the lamination have straight line, thin gaps... those that have more than 1mm gaps, which i have identified, had been fixed during the first 2 weeks of HO... i remember the carpenters from tau are the 4 brothers from malaysia (perak state)... i chat with them when they came to fix the defects... they told me they partnered with winston since many many years back... i will be upset if they are not partnering with tau anymore, as their quality of work and attitude is quite professional... anyway, i will get in touch with kelvin when i got my key...
  12. According to the agreement, the 40% is upon "uplift of goods & materials to unit". I did not pay anything until they asked for payment (~40%) 2 weeks after commencement of reno, that was after hacking work and electrical work done.
  13. i got my iEasy (R109 remote control laundry system) from woei lee for $690... i went to imm warehouse area to take a look at the actual system and also played with it... like it very much as it required no strength to move the poles with heavy laundry up... i just have it installed 2 months ago... so far so good... iEasy (R109 remote control laundry system) with lights Control the movement (up & down) with remote control This is the lowest that it can go
  14. i am very happy with the system... totally effortless to move the system up and down i think they have a few types of system, incl the one that u can push out... give them a ring to find out more...
  15. More picture on master bedroom, where the major overhaul took place... we hacked the wall and combine 2 rooms in making a bigger mbr Platform bed Small dressing area on platform TV console and feature wall Feature wall to hide the sliding mbr door Feature wall to hide the sliding bathroom door
  16. yes, i am back, after a long silence... tight travel schedule and did not even update my reno blog for more than a month just to update, my reno completed with handover done... payment effected last sat, tho kevin will still get his guy to touch up some flaws and help me with fixture (i.e. drilling)... read through the thread and see you guys discussed about workmanship... hmm... nothing is perfect... even kevin also asked us to check and let him know anytime if we spotted any defect, he said that sometimes we might see something that he overlooked... we did pick up some flaws and defects, and most had been rectified swiftly... we also understand that some flaws are due to technical constraints, e.g. laminate is of 8 feet length, so they definitely need to join 2 pieces of laminate if coverage is longer than 8 feet... in this case, joint line is inevitable... so as long as the joint with pattern aligned, and joint line is not obviously visible, it should be acceptable... my point is, flaws and defects are bound to happen in any work, as long as they are responsible and had put in best effort to get it rectified, then we should be happy customer we spent about 30k in reno work by tau... well, what we can say is... we see value ok, enough for the saying... share some pictures that taken last week... Living - TV feature wall and ceiling work TV feature wall at a closer view Dining - shoe cabinet and counter-top pelmet (granite counter is original) Shoe cabinet at a closer view Study room Do you realise that the top hung cabinet is longer than the desk... this is not intentional... initially we wanted a day bed, but didn't know that day bed meant 2 feet wide... i didn't manage to physically visit due to travelling... and can't tell from the photo that HB taken... only after the day bed and cabinet constructed, then we realised that the day bed is too small... as it is meant as guest bed... so guest will probably feel unwelcomed looking at this small bed... we get kevin to "chop" away the desk (i.e. sacrificing one drawer space) to make way for a bigger bed... with this last minute change, we have to top up $700 for the rectification... but we rather get it done now than regret later
  17. just tried today, for about 30 seconds, the shinning parts do not get hot... let me know if u want me to try longer
  18. No, not the plugged into power socket type, and the hair-dryer does not come with a 3-pin adaptor. I get my contractor to run the wire for me. This is not auto-on type as well, there is a power selection and switch on the hair-dryer, and you have to keep pressing the swich to activate the hair-dryer. JVD said this is a safety feature. My contractor installed another switch outside my bathroom, which I need to on this switch, before I can switch on the hair dryer itself.
  19. hi piggybank, i will let u know as soon as i tried it... hv not moved in to the new place yet
  20. I bought the a different model of washer EWF8556 at $589, and the same model of dryer EDE36150W at $499, during the recent Electrolux warehouse sale at Toa Payoh (30/5/09). The items had yet to be delivered until my reno completed. They gave free stacking kit, as usual, when you buy washer and dryer. No free voucher though. So I think you have a good offer
  21. This is the hair dryer - Oceanis Standard hair-dryer (1600W) for $85, that I bought and recently installed in my bathroom.
