Hi I bought a fabric sofa and the fabric of the sofa covers comes off. This has been happening for the past few 5 months since I gotten the sofa. I can see the fine threads of the fabric when I sweep or mop the floor. This is becoming of a pain as I can feel the "layer" of fabric on the floor when I walk in the house. Like to check with the folks here, is this what is expected of a fabric sofa in the first months of purchase? Or what are the ways to solve this problem? Thanks

Hi I m going to start the search for a sofa(Probably a L-shaped that sits 4) for my living room. What are the things to watch out for in the selection process? Should be looking for a sofa with fabric material and removable covers as I heard that sitting on a full leather sofa will be warm in our climate.

Hi folks Thanks for replies. I just checked with Blum, we cant buy direct from them but from their list of recommended partners. Do we need to get a carpenter from the list or I can select a carpenter out from this list and have them fit Blum system into my cabinets. What is the typical cost of the granite top? Hi Been pondering over using granite as my kitchen cabinet top. However, heard from some friends that it is required to erect concrete legs using hollow blocks along the cabinet length to support the weight of the granite top. Is this a requirement or there are alternative methods of supporting the granite top? What will be the typical cost of granite top? Also, i am thinking of installing Blum system to the cabinets. What is the average unit cost price of installing Blum system into my kitchen drawers? I have seen Blum system for drawers, but do they exists for cabinet doors with hinges? Thanks

Should I be going for a L-Box design, probably running a trunking to the centre of the living room might be unattractive with the L-Box in place or maybe I havent seen this layout before. One concern, does these 18 watt bulb or 2x13 watt bulbs, or a single 26 watt bulb feel warm while sitting under these downlights?

Hi What are the various designs for the living room ceilings? My living room is measuring 4.6m x 4.15m. I m thinking of having a L-box design with downlights but there is the concern of insufficent lighting in the centre of the living room.

Hi all I understand this topic has been discussed to an extent in previous threads but hope folks in the forum can help to clear some doubt from me and provide some recommendations Previously, I came across this discussion, that to enjoy the experience of a rain shower, a storage heater should be installed rather than instant water heater. Is this true and why is this so? Are there any instant water heater allowing a rain shower to fitted? I m looking at getting 2 instant water heater units for my HDB home. I suppose the instant water heater purchase come with the shower head? To change this shower head, is there any requirements to factor in when making the new shower head purchase? Finally, any instant water heater brand/model to recommend and locations to get a good bargain to for them? Thanks

Get an idea of what I want and perhaps that will be a better time to PM you folks for the ID contacts. oohaahcantona10, agreed, I will probably try to approach 4-5 ID for quotations. Too much of quotations will be a headache to decide. Had such an experience in the selection of my bridal package I was pondering over to keep the homogenous tiles for my kitchen but to remove some of the carpentry in the kitchen. Trying to save some cost if the kitchen flooring is of good condition. Any folks have such past experience? Will the homogenous tiles be damaged in such a scenario? Without visible damage, are the homogenous tiles lasting? Btw, are there any upcoming home and decor exhibitions?

Hi I m getting the keys to my 5rm resale unit (121sqm) end of this month and I have no idea on how to start on the renovation. I have gotten the floor plan for my unit. What are the first steps in searching for a ID house for my unit? Where or are there websites can I view the themes or a mock up? Most likely I will be hacking the existing laminated limber over homogenous tiles flooring. With this in mind, typically how long will such renovation take? Also, understand that $10K is required for hacking and laying of new tiles and another $10K est is required for carpentary. What are the other big price tag items in a renovation? Another concern will be the renovation might be stretching over to the lunar 7th month that is starting in mid Aug. Is it advisable not to continue renovation during lunar 7th month? Thanks
