  1. guy77, we paid $1499 nett for a series4 40", which comes with a free series4 26". The free gift can only select between home theatre system OR the 26" tv.
  2. newnyew: haha....! everyone's eyeing on that seat! My hubby's friends kept asking if the owner is leaving that behind.... fat chance! So expensive how can they be giving that to us stage: oh ya hor, it's round... din really notice the details. Kinda cute booy: if can i hope our next house will be in bishan area. True lah, we save in reno oredi... Yours is also quite well done up ya. Well, i dislike the idea of trying their luck to make the house smaller and smaller later like HK litat everyone gets only 35sqm!
  3. booy: dunno why HDB plan the housing there to be smaller than the usuals.. calculation error? Frankly speaking, i prefer your area... coz there is J8, one of my fav shopping mall! Somemore the mrt interchange is there, property price over that area will sure hike up in years to come. Bishan was our initial choice but the price is too high for us
  4. guy77: we bought our tv at best denki, during their roadshow in J8. They were like lelong-ing the tv (limited sets) and we got to choose if we want the home theatre or 26" tv. We chose the latter. Anyway, this was like 2 months back, i bet you can get a better deal than this. yea, yours is near the mrt while mine is at the other end preciousjam & flyingballoons & Jupiter Home : thanks! and yea, we were very lucky. After the 30k first-timer grant we paid only $310k, with reno done xherion: not sure if the cabinets were from ikea though hello88: it's laminated, confirmed by my hubby tower: yup yup! we will give the house a fresh coat of paint and a thorough clean-up! Now starting to source for furniture... kinda decided to buy the sofa and console from mode studio liao. keke... you have the same thought as my hubby! Nah, we aint gonna keep tat 'birdcage' lighting... Prolly will fix up a ceiling fan Smallboy: the view is great isnt it lets hope they will not do anything to tat empty plot of land (or at least let us enjoy a few years before they wanna do something)
  5. ashes02: hmm, now sourcing for furniture. Any good lobang to introduce? Tomorrow we will be going to S&C to take a look hopefully there are things we like. We bought the TV though, samsung series 4 (40") at $1499, comes with a free series 4 26". My hubby is comtemplating to use it for his gaming My colleague has given me a contact for appliances eh, you wanna give him a call? She bought from him a couple of times and said is reliable. Just give him the brands and models and ask him to quote you first before deciding. guy77: yup yup! save cost we can concentrate our finance in furniture and applicances Your house... towner road... is it in boon keng area?
  6. pinkpetter: haha...! i wish we could move in right away! and yea, we like the consistancy of the design throughout the house, and spaces are well used ashes02: nope, not sure if the owner would remove it, but anyway we will be using ours. haha! see, uncle ah soon is being protective over his little children in here
  7. familyof4 & ivy: yea, tat's what we are looking for, 100% move in... so we do not need to spend more time and money on reno jesperbg: $340k was the initial valuation. The house was still unsold and after 3 months they did another valuation which became $355k. Guess the owner knew it wasnt easy to sell it off coz they knock down a wall and the fact that the house is small, so the lowest they would accept is $340k, based on the 1st valuation.

  12. good news! our 1st appt is brought forward to 25th May! Its just a week difference but so happy that we could get it a week earlier than before The agent was asking when do we want to move in, he could make arrangements for us (since the occupants already outstation for months). Well well, things are definitely looking better now!
  13. another '$10 donor' here... And had since gave up after 4th try. My HB and i always waited till the established estates balloting to try our luck and you know the balloting was used to be 3 times a year but now... half yearly BTO locations were not ideal as one work in the east and another in the west, so we have to get somewhere central to compromise each other. So after weeks of searching in the resale market, we manage to find an ideal unit. Try bargain the COV to the lowest, and find a unit which requires minimal or no renovation. Better to owe HDB than owe the bank
  14. hi babymaro2003, we had our banquet lunch at PJ clarke quay in Sep08 and all i had heard from our guests were raves on the food and services. Before the banquet started we had our ROM on its stage too, nothing elaborate but that was good enough for us. The place can hold a maximum of 250 pax (22 tables - some tables would have 12pax) and minimum of 18 tables. If you do not go beyond 20tables, i believe all your guests will be sitting comfortably. Ambience-wise, i would say is unlike holding in hotels where there is light effects, bubbles, and other little details and all. We did engage a live band though to entertain our guests and many were first to experience such performance in a wedding, which gave them a different experience.
  15. hi hibernate, congrats on your buy! save alot on reno, just shift in your furniture and you are ready to hibernate
  16. i'm looking for furniture too and thought these might help you... - cellini - novo furnishing - lush for those who visited S&C in amk, what's the style of their furniture? We're looking towards minimalist.... Any suggestions are welcomed
  17. just knew from my HB that our 1st appt is on 1ST JUN Is this the norm? We sure cant move in before the hungry ghost festival :(
  18. tower: we dun have good pics to show the perspective of the house.... Gotta remind ourselves to snap some on our next visit for measurements. pinkpetter: yea, guess they cant change the size of the CD shelter .... still waiting for our 1st appt
  19. congrats! wooo.... getting keys next week, so excited for ya where is your nest by the way? House is in original condition?
  20. this is our floor plan. BR and MBR is combined into one room.
  21. thanks.... feel much better after the med.... yea, very likely to sway away from the list... keke... but at least acts as a 'reminder' what to get and what not... My HB is the more rational one while me... impulsive buyer
  22. nice reno, love the squarish living room
  23. yea, after the wedding and all our savings were totally wiped out Hence we gotta find one which is reasonably done up
  24. nice house and great location! love especially the kitchen (red/black combi) Erm, what we will be doing is to source for whatever things we want and post them online (facebook most probably) so friends and relatives would know what to get for you. My 2 programmer friends did this (they had a proper website) and i thought this idea was brillant. Save money on your side while getting items you truly wants.
