i don't care who's officially managing my place. Whoever is easier to contact and meet is the one i'm going to complain to. =) So by elimination, that leaves joseph liao lor =p -
Lidat will look nice anot? Actually i'm more in favour of clear with decal lah. But my wife thinks it's not a good idea as the clear glass door will be facing a mirror and she feels weird having glass(clear) face glass(reflective) (don't really know what's her worry here lah but let her win lor).

lol, in fact he also spotted some things that me and my wife (who are both very absent-minded and blind) failed to spot and that hdb need to rectify for us. rusty fittings etc. =p Meeting him yesterday was definitely an enjoyable and fruitful session. =) -
my wife wanted to frost the entire piece of glass for our kitchen door. i told her no, cz ppl on both sides of the door cannot see through very dangerous, so my carpenter initially gave us the idea to put clear lines at eye level. Now that i think about it, doing it this way will only benefit adults, kids won't be able to see, so i was thinking of changing the design to alternate stripes of frosted and clear, something like rierie's door. but now you guys look like hour-rate hotel doors...

Actually, I was talking with joseph yesterday. He explained to me that at the join lines, between partition board and partition board or between partition board and wall, they actually place a net-like thing over it. Then they plaster over this net and paint over it. Once this is done, you won't ever see this crack. At least this is what joseph explain to me. My partition board and wall joint is cracking because the worker neglected to put the net there >_<". Also, the grey paint is showing up weirdly on two strips of my partition board as well and joseph (who spotted that) said that that was due to insufficient plaster. So he's gonna call his partition crew to come and patch up this job as well... -
thanks for the pics of the cover rierie =). When i mentioned about this to my contractor he raised the same point as you with regards to changing the light tubes. also he said that the clear glass/plastic would not be entirely flat along my cove lighting (since when it was constructed, this wasn't part of the deal =p) so dust might still get in anyway. So in the end, i didn't do it. But thanks for sharing!

the view is part of the reason why i'm resisting all my relatives' advice of installing grilles over at my place too. Super chio view you have there sohck!

hey, just wanted to ask ah. My wife is also a coffee addict. But she despise those starbucks/coffe bean coffee one. Can this coffee machine make the type of coffee they serve in ya kun/toastbox/kopitiam?? (i have no idea what beans they use in there at all >_<" ). If the machine can be used to make coffee she likes for her, i don't mind buying 1 to surprise her as well =)

manual paint? Fannie, i think B_D means the hot and cold piping will be run up through 1 wall. on opposite side of the walls there will be a mixer each. hence the hot/cold direction will be a mirror image of each other (or something like that)
-
can swop the mixer direction around anot? Something like red on the left and blue on the right or vice versa whatever the case may be... *scratch head*
-
aiyah... kena played out by my shop then =(. How much does it cost you to get KDK agent down to fix it up?
-
i start 3rd of june lor. Got MANY days NJD lor... >_<

Need Warm White Light Advise !
stormcontrol replied to talktome's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
you're talking about colour or brightness??? warmer light, means talking about colour yar? Go check your batten tube is what colour temperature. Incandescent light bulbs (standard filament bulbs that produce really orangey light ) have colour temperature of about 2700k. This is the most orange/yellow you can go. Cool daylight is about 6500k. It's possible to go up to 7000k but pointless for human beings. Only plants really benefit from that colour temp. If you want hotel type of colour, usually they choose colour from between 2700k to 4000k. If you're buying phillips or osram look at the 3 digit colour code. Usually the code starts with an '8' for flourescent light tubes. For example, '827' means 2700k colour temp while '840' means 4000k. Take the last two digits and multiply by 100 to get the temp for that particular light bulb. I could tell you what the '8' means but it won't help you for your problem. -
joseph tells me he's handling all the plastering for ah soon. i think that's why.

Question, why don't you put your tv against the far wall (from the corridoor) and place your seating in the middle of the hall? Not as damaging for your kids to run smack into a sofa right? =p
-
i was looking at your original plan and scratching my head wondering why you wrote "turtle" all over the place. Then i read your wife's correction... rofl =p Pai seh, don't mean to tease but i really felt it was funny =). Anyway, glad that your progress is so fast! . You started later than me and B_D but i think you're catching up, if not fully caught up le! B_D, we need to go and chase uncle more!!!!
