  1. yah. get chkbook bah. don't be like me so dangerous. carrying thousands of dollars in cash around very "ti xin diao dan" leh... Heng that that part of my reno process over le. Dun nid to carry so much cash on my person le... >_<"
  2. me too, my greeting goes "uncle ah, toa payoh de ah liang ah." Then he say, "Ah liang ah, lai she me shi?" Lolz
  3. gratz pet! look forward to seeing your reno part 2!
  4. hdb afraid we anyhow drill holes and kena the piping mah =p @rierie: heh, i know cannot box up the heater lah. but thinking of covering the piping only... *headache*
  5. i know, but it still makes a difference to the pricing (some places will charge you higher for class 0 right? ). As for the brand of insulation, i'm not sure whether it matters at all but it didn't matter to me in my final decision. (on a sidenote, having both a piece of armaflex and thermaflex in hand, realised that the armaflex is super easy to tear in comparison.) Anyway, bought it weeks ago liao but thanks for your attempt to help!
  6. check with him abt his materials. If he gives he 3/8" thick insulation, gauge 23 copper piping and 1 year installation guarantee, it's not a bad price. If he give even thicker insulation and lower number gauge copper piping and longer guarantee then it is a very good price =p.
  7. yup, they are 1 and the same =)
  8. it means the configuration of your fancoils. 9+9+9 means 3 fancoils each with cooling capacity of 9000btu. There are other possible configurations of ME inverter sys3, eg. 9+9+12 (2 x 9000btu and 1 12000btu), 9+9+18, 9+12+18, 9+9+22 etc. So when u mention the system mz also tell us the configuration of fancoils quoted. else very hard to compare =p
  9. might be good to check with joseph also, as he's actually the main "go to" guy for uncle when it comes to plastering/cornices.
  10. you want to test then you mop lar. why ask her to mop? ok ah fannie, b_d volunteer to come and mop your house test your mop for u already ah. =p
  11. first, sniffles, then sore throat now difficulty swallowing. you sure you not suffering from a mild allergic reaction? Take care leh ivy. just moved in only, must have health in order to enjoy new place! =)
  12. she got 2 storey worth of space to stock leh, what u think =p
  13. jia lat, he come back, makan and showered le. now sitting at his pc. it's about to begin le *scary* =p. yah la yah la, missed you lah. without u arnd, haunting the t-blog forum not as fun lah =p
  14. wat configuration of fancoils are you getting? 9+9+9? Better to post in the aircon (latest quote) thread for fastest response but nvm. Oh yah, don't assume abt the bracket. If bracket too old, may not be safe to reuse, especially if using different sized compressor...
  15. i remember when we were staying in an EM, my parents bought a vax vacuum cleaner for the house.... can you imagine lugging that monster up and down the staircase everyday?? I don't know what possessed my parents to buy that man.... .. . heng he's at ppp or buying his lights today. Can catch a breather on the t-blog updates =p
  16. cannot box up the heater lah. it's mounted on a wall that's protruding out. boxing it up is just going to further cut the walking space in my already super mini kitchen... think really have to paint for that one. Think i recall seeing applefreak's heater's pipes being painted white.... Boxing up the rest of the pipes i'm seriously considering.. If uncle can do FOC for me, i'll be 1 happy man =p
  17. Are you doing a complete overhaul? If you are then i think you'll be looking at the sort of timings that ivy et al are experiencing. I'm not doing overhaul and it's gonna take me 7 weeks le (estimated some more... )
  18. yah, that one i know. Megaman also has a whole range of dimmable flourescent lights. Just non for tube-types
  19. Dun on all bon07, the colour effect will be very weird. Also agree about using T8 instead of T5. Additionally, T5 is more expensive. b_d, u can consider not buying holders for the flourescent tubes leh. I did my cove lights with strip installation. Just naked tubes, ballast and starter lying in the cove. Cheaper (i think), and you can build you cove closer to the ceiling (think no longer an issue with you cz built liao =p ). rierie: flourescent light tubes can dim meh? all the shops i visit tell me cannot leh. Lighting temperature 101: I lazy to retype so please go to this post to see my take on this issue hor b_d =)
  20. After our "shopping spree" and a quick dinner, sent the wife to her sister's place to sleepover then went off to check out the gas piping over at our house. They followed me and joseph's written instructions very well. but still the piping looks **** ugly. Now i have gas piping encircling nearly the whole of my kitchen ceiling... >_<. Plus that ugly lot of piping that is the water heater. Sigh. Should i ask uncle to box up anot? Wondering if possible for me to buy pvc casing from hardware store and do the boxing up myself anot...
  21. Ok. Had a sort of bathroom/kitchen fixture spree yesterday at Alexandra Ikea, IMM and Tradehub21. Bought from ikea 1x Blanken 3-tier chromed shower rack, 4 x Sagan chromed double hook, 1 x Lillholmen chrome rack of hooks, 1 x 40 cm Grundtal stainless steel towel rack, 2 x Grundtal s/s kitchen rail and hooks. Then went to IMM asiaexcel to collect my franke fremont tap (which i rejected upon delivery yesterday as a bit of the chrome had chipped off). While we were there, also picked up 2 x Fidelis handspray, 1 x Fidelis s/s toilet paper holder, and a Crizto 2-tier tempered glass shower rack. After that went to take a look at Adamas bathroom at Tradehub 21 and drooled all over the portable bathtub we're aiming for if budget permits and ended up buying a venetian-mirror type of toilet mirror cabinet from them. Total spent around $307 in a night. *phew* glad that's over... ...
  22. I realised also that the fan supposed to wobble abit le. Electrician came over yesterday to tighten it. Now it doesn't wobble on startup but wobble abit when it hits a good speed. Looking at the base design, i realise that it was designed to wobble. Variable center loading... dunno what the engineers are thinking... >_<" aiyah so long as still covered warranty i think we're good lah =p
  23. b_d? Poor?? Guy, don't given him ammo, later he yi fa bu ke shou shi le!! =p
  24. "the original" aka the 290ml one ah? or the small 60ml one?
