why is there a need to do top kitchen cabinet? Do you need that space? your $6k only for carpentry or?? off the rack prices I have seen wardrobes - $900+ from S&C bookshelves - $380 defu study table should be quite affordable, if not use a simple foldable table first.. you can try again or get those already in contact with him to pass message to him...

you can calculate the area of those rooms, but bear in mind that there are times they need to cut the tile to fit your floor area... besides, they have added workmanship in, unless you tell them that you will be providing the tiles, then see how much they are changing you for workmanship..

ok, no wall tiles, 4k might be a little on the high side or justifiable but it depends on your floor area, and it should include hacking... My unit with 67sqm was ever quoted around 2.5k for tiling those rooms (excluding kitchen and toilets) but without hacking cost as mine has no tiles...
