Day One Living Room Kitchen
-
I long ago put in my sig that I'll start it and explained it that I'm starting after the 7th month mah... If not I can move in already... yalor, must be busy... shall find the 1st day picture first, some pics taken by my wife will be slower to post as she doesn't know how to upload from the phone, might be getting from her later this week via bluetooth (must remember that we still don't see each other daily)
-
Process has been smooth so far but it is the buying of the stuff that is giving us headaches, especially when Lynn herself can't remember the contract from time to time and thus, even calling up to check things with her at times can end up more confusing than before... will post some pics later...
-
it should be 'pan collar' I think...
-
yes, there are steps.. requested lynn to do some tiling on the step till the door, so there is a little gap from door to laminate.. she's charging me for that though, and yea, take precaution and it should be better.. Think mine was pergo also... Actually a bit cannot remember what design was choosen cuz that time when we chose it was like in July or something
-
ya, her organising of things is a bit messy yea, living room also laminate... due to saving on cost... guess it will be alright as I've been to another RT-er's place which has laminate for living room and she's maintaining it alright..
-
haha, had have difficulties coordinating with Lynn on the schedule of what things should be brought in when, other than that, pretty much alright, we picked the tiles last sat., well, just for both bathroom and kitchen floor, the rest of the floor is laminate... haha, excited?! having to place more and more orders for things and looking at the thick stack of invoices to pay off

Takomi, how is your progress? No updates? Mine going to start very soon, next tuesday...

Beware! Blk 255 Ang Mo Kio #06!
merryman replied to spaceboy's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
Sorry to hear about this. I'm not sure but maybe you can still file a claim against her and if she sells her unit in the end, part of it might still come back to you unless she owes more than what she possess now. -
Who's going? Where in the heck did I say about Me going?!!! You're the one who can't catch up with the pricing of private housing and arguing about the need of privacy before 35. Go rent an HDB unit then. At least I went for my 2nd best option. Have you thought your way out or just thinking that complaining will get you somewhere?! Go asking with your mouth and try to solve your housing problem with it. You yourself was sterotyping, not using an analogy. Go brush up your english before you come here to teach anyone. Besides, you can't use me as an analogy when you don't even know me. Last sentence: more and more foreigners coming in now, they survive better without the cpf and stuff initially. Then years later they become citizens/pr. It's so common to find citizens of PRC almost anywhere you go. Soon, they will become Singapore citizens.

Last Sat, bought some simple taps from Hoe Kee. More from budget point of view before looking at those designs that fit out budget. Also since we don't have storage heater, we already cut down the designs we could look at by excluding the mixer taps. Going to look at tiles with ID and maybe buy lights this Saturday.... Still yet to decide for air-con...
-
yalar, caught between the wait for 7th month to be over mah, haiz... if not I can start shifting liao... I don't know yet, still price-shopping ... you have such a good deal
-
Thank you thank you, I guess I'm giving myself more issues because the taps at where I'm getting my WC and basins are a little bit more costly than some places, so might not be getting from the same place, thus my questions... Thanks for the help... I think I will confirm the number of taps with my wife soon...
-
Haven't post in here for a while as still waiting for renovation to start... Meanwhile, still haven't order lights, taps and aircon... How many taps do I need actually? I'm confused... Kitchen, 2washrooms' basins, 2showerheads, what are some taps that I need?

Her 3D drawings look great, too bad I'm underutilising her services in terms of 3D drawings and designing as we are going on a tight budget and also not keen to spend too much on a 32 years old unit..
-
haha, what to do when that is the only choice out of all choices.. unless I go become a monk or forever stay just a family of 2 In reality, many do big renovations using loans and it is based on choice... sadly, people usually think of repayment as a problem when things are bad, not when things are good... that's why many people fall into loans/credit card traps... anyway, sad truth as it may be, part of this rising cost is because the influx of people coming into Singapore and how they want a place in Singapore has also caused the market to go up because they can afford it.. And wanting to live near amenities made the price goes up as people try to outbid one another... sad case really for Singaporeans.. I still think the really poor may not be able to afford or to have to struggle much for a 3room even with 30 years loan... I only have one drawing leh no progress, cuz starting reno late Sept

haha, there are reasons why a house need to be fast and it doesn't necessary means 'I WANT'... yes, people can choose to rent (even worse cuz paying for other people's home loan) or stay with parents (provided they have a spare room) or even marry later (and forget about having the possibility of children)... in view of these reasons, I say I need an apt fast, not I want.. You may beg to defer but different people have different needs..

What To Bring On 1st Appt?
merryman replied to francine's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
you don't actually need an agent... there are no requirement for agent, as long as you submit the paper work correctly... or even just pay for paperwork done, hope she doesn't charge you much, and bargain for below 1% if possible or waiver of GST. -
He engaged Lynn from Ideal House
-
takomi, finally get to see your t-blog... lolz... think amk uses this layout a lot?! It is possible though

What To Bring On 1st Appt?
merryman replied to francine's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
not sure of the standard procedure but perhaps the cheque for COV can be dated on/near 2nd appt?! It actually depends how much you have faith in the deal going through... why are u paying the seller agent? Did you sign an agreement with that company? If so, she becomes your agent too, then make her do work!!
