U needs very good contact, best if yr family member is in this line. If not, the saving might not be substantial. I try to out sourcing everything before. But end up the price is like same or even higher than using a contractor. By doing everything DIY, it might be very tiring too. U needs to coordinate everything by yourselves . And there is always a fear that number 1 sub contractor will spoil number 2 sub contractor work … but you will not sure who spoil it and no one want to be responsible . I had hear story about 3rd party painter (etc … etc) I also have a bad experience with my wardrobe sub-con (not becos it’s cheaper but becos I tot that they are specialist and their thing should be better, BUT I WAS WRONG) However this is just my feeling. Sungei Kadut there really alot of furniture shop Can easily shop whole day . Had try walking from Nova (or novena) forgot which one liao , but i know located at one of the end, all the way to IFC. tiring but good experience.
