Fridge and WM base not a necessity anymore because we dun wash floor like canteen (quote from my HTB) haha The base nearest to drain will have a opening to allow any flooding to flow out...so the floor is also lay with a certain gradient towards it. =) Tomorrow evening will be recapping requirements and finalising items with contractor! if the base depth is 80cm, the rest of the cabinet base is 80 or 60? seems awkard to have the fridge base protruding along a straight line kitchen

I also prefer the one w/o island. Island layout more suitable for bigger kitchens. Since you have two young boys at home, you probably have to consider traffic flow and how much u want to hinder them in the kitchen/laundry area. PS: Its really cool to look at sth else while washing!
