Understand that Goodrich has beautiful wallpapers http://www.goodrichglobal.com/english.htm Anyone knows of anyone who used Goodrich wallpaper for whole house? I know it is not going to be cheap. but have no idea how much is will cost. Wanna do wall paper cos it gives a different feel compared to paintings on wall. Hope to hear from all of you. Now is really doing homework time, so that once i get my keys...i will know what i want =)

Another Ah Soon fan =) can PM me his contacts? no harm meeting out with him and see if he can work within my budget. cos now Im considering the contractor who did my place 5 years back. he did a good job, but we still wan see look and see who can give a better deal. Once awhile, my dog will dig the floor, as if looking for bones. hahha.... we tot of this....but if parquet/laminate in rooms, then at least still safe. cos he always ard us....if in room, we can keep eye on him. we can't do away with a dining table le. cos hubby's fengshui shifu say....a home canot be without a dining table. Dining table is the place tat brings everyone together... more complete... so now have to source a nice nice one. Saw your set of stackable tables and chairs. looks cool. You are really a practical person...hee will show hubby the pictures tonight =)

my initial idea to have aircon is to on it when friends come over. we will look at our budget and decide again. so living room aircon --> KIV currently my mum and I are using glass hob. so far the miantenace quite oki. have seen pple with stainless steel ones and they dun clean it, so it looks but definitely induction hob is out. cos i dun wanna be blamed for high electrical bills and yeah..i'm looking for white/creamy bifold doors with glass...saw one in a magazine...but duno where to find. oh...i din think about opening thekitchen cabinet door and drawer. totally forgot about it. guess it will be cramp. i will just stick to one long kitchen cabinet....haha....so at least my kitchen looks spacious. We will go look around for dining tables le. cos hubby say i wont wan to climb a high chair if im preggie in future...and old folks dun like high chair. since we will have family gathering, somehow gotto consider that point.

mrspiglet & Metalsubzero both of you engaged Ah soon to be your contractor..erm...is it convenient to share your quotations with me?

Thats what hubby say, if the weather is hot, we probably hide in the study room or bedroom since there's TV there as well. hence no need for aircon in the living room. We will have friends coming over every now and then. so a dining table will probably be appropriate. but it takes up space leh. cos if wanna get, will get at least a 6-8 seater, cos both side of our family rather big ... and we love having parties and gatherings at our place. And true, i agree that overlaying might cause the tiles to pop. We will probably do parquet in the rooms. so hacking will be recomended else rooms and living rm flooring will be uneven...hmmm.... currently i'm staying at compassvale lane. then new place in rivervale. my friends jokingly mentioned that in another few years, i should move on to anchorvale then fernvale, so to stay different part of sengkang.
-
Yah... feel it is safer and should mount on original ceiling thankx for the great advise. will get our contractor to quote us, then we will decide if we want hacking anot. of cos we wana the best reno....but oso must keep a l@@kout at our budget. btw, my new place is near rivervale mall. =)

hi Zerochristy yah...many told me laminates gives a hollow feeling. we are doing false ceiling in living area. if installing a ceiling fan, means there's a holle in the ceiling? cos 2 IDs told me ceiling fan must be direct from actual ceiling. i do see before pple overlaying, and indeed...it looks thick!.. Thanks for the feedback. =)

Will be meeting up with my contractor this saturday morning. After discussion with hubby, decided the following: (do give comments) 1. we will go ahead with white gloss laminates and solid top for kitchen (our dog will probably let him station elsewhere in the house) 2. we are looking at homogeneous for living area and parquest/laminates for rooms. -- can anyone enlighten me, parquet or laminate is better? 3. Wanted to have aircon in the living area. But we will not use often...so wondering if we should go ahead. 4. Will go for glass or stainless steel hob. induction hob consumes more electricity - hubby say no no 5. balcony door, bifold door or sliding door? - anyone seen any nice white/ creamy white bi fold doors? 6. i want to have a island in the kitchen. but it will result in 60cm walkway on each side. isit too narrow? 7. i wanted a bar top counter at the kicthen entrance, so we can just have meals there. But hubby say a dining table is more appropriate. 8. this is a resale unit. wondering if we shld overlay the tiles of the kitchen and toilet or should we hack then tile. Really appreciate all the feedbacks. cos now really HEAD BIg BIg

I got the picture online. Where did you get it from? Went to Best Denki and courts, didn't see this induction hob. hmm...$$998, still trying to convince my hubby to get this. Can share how much is your electrical bill?

My dog will stand and scratch, so even suspense, he can also reach. did ask about quartz. this ID quoted be rather high, more ex than granite. whereas when i ask other IDs, some same quote as granite. decided not to do up an expensive kitchen top since I don't really cook often. so decided to save the money on other areas.

Our 1st appt on 13 May. Can't wait to get keys. Today, we meet up with our kitchen ID. Kitchen: Top (white gloss laminate 2mm) - 20.5ft - $3075 Bottom (white gloss laminate 2mm) - 18ft - $3060 = comes with 3 BLUM/Heatech drawers, remaining all swing doors Additional cupboard above fridge - $120 Stainless Steel Dish RRack - $120 Backsplash in tempered crystal clear glass sprayed white finished 22sqft - $1320 granite top 17.5ft - $2450 total = $10145 Less = 1014.50 Total = $9130.50 We almost drop from our chairs. Towards the end, we might opt for - woody laminates (reason: worry my dog will scratch the cabinets and white gloss if scratched will be very obvious) - solid top (reason: granite don't seems to go well with the woody laminates we want) The final cost was reduced to about 6.5k

yah lor, half a day abit siong, especially the aircons. If it will trip, then when all powers are on, it should trip right? don't have to wait till half a day? am i right? price in warehouse will it be cheaper? do you have the address? hows the electricity consumption? which brand? the induction you used the last time, was 2, 3 or 4 induction?
-
Anyone using Induction hob? Saw this at my ID showroom, finds it less bulky. Understand they need to use pots and pans that 'attracts' magnets. Anyway my main concern is, is it good? read some pros and cons: - heats up your cooking fast - easy to clean - consumes alot electricity - if aircon is on at the same time, or too much electrical appliances on, then power will trip Anyone can comment?

Will have to wait till after 1st appt, then can go up snap snap the flat again. got to check with my agent. but in the meanwhile, will post my home designs once gotten from ID, and the stuffs i gona add into my new home. Wana selll my current furnitures and electical appliances (washer and fridge)....hubby say can buy new one another reason cos....i'm only given a month to stay at my current flat after 2nd appt, and the owner of my resale unit will only hand over the keys on 2nd appt, means i have oni a month to reno....very worried no time to reno....then all my small stuffs + me + hubby will have to 'bunk' into my mum place... =( so BIG stuffs will have to sell off.... Realli must go take a look at their furnitures. 5 years ago eyeing their furniture...but tat time newly wed...no money so give it a miss. now realli must go see see

ivy yeah i agree postform really serves me well for the past 5 years. In fact it served my mum for 19 years and still good =) Thumbs up for scratches Angel81 we love the balcony and service balcony too. previous owner level up the balcony, we've decided to level it down, so that it has the balcony feel =) familyof4 this is the first time i have a service balcony. Like the idea of it, at least i have a place for washer and dryer mrspiglet think I'll probably go for granite black top. cos worry white solid top will be 'disfigured' under my care..hahha payretep you also have a white house concept? well...i'm actually risking when i opt for a all-white. hopefully i wont regret my decision. Maintenance is not easy, especially we have no maid =( buy hubby say he will help out, so give it a go lor googocat ohh...price drop!! will be seeing ID this sunday with his quotations for us. Hopefully price will be ok. my current kitchen has 2 big drawers with blum Think the drawer cost $250 each, will need to go back and check the invoice. but my whole kitchen cabinet in my current 4 room is 3k plus after discounts. else it was actually 4k plus. Pricey hor....

After much discussion with hubby, we've decided to engage the same company - Classic (can't remember if this is the full name) that did our current kitchen in our 4rm 5 years back. We loved the Blum drawers, and of cos not forgetting their workmanship. cos till today, many commented my kitchen cabinets is still in very good condition. However they are on the pricey side especially this time round I've decided to add on this stainless steel rack that can be pulled out upon opening the cabinet door. As for kitchen top, we are still considering to use white solid top or black galaxy granite top. My current kitchen is using the old fashion postform top =) Just wondering which is more scratch resisitant? according to the ID, granite is better. current in the market there's Quartz top. anyone using? can feedback?

hi fondue_ We don't really cook. Although still can make a dish or 2 for gatherings. So a big kitchen means we have to spend more money on cabinets. The rooms are not very big, so i can't have a big wardrobe =(
-
hi pinkpetter I've read through your renoblog. Showed hubby your white kitchen, and we both agreed it is nice!!! That's why we've decided to have a white concept. btw, your kitchen top is using solid top or granite? hi guy77 yah, a white concept means both hubby and I must make an effort to keep it clean. plan to do more cabinets so that all can be kept inside....looks nice outside, but inside..er...hahah hi Jupiter Home that's one of the criteria we looking for - balcony and service balcony, when hunting for our unit. but this is a 116sqm 5 room, not very big though =)
-
Hi all, after a long search, we've finally selected this unit. Now waiting faithfully for our 1st appt. Simply can't wait to start renovating our love nest =) Here's my floorplan: We are thinking of a white, clean and neat concept. And we will be doing a full overhaul as this previous owner's decor is a no-no for us. Hope to hear more suggestions... =)
