  1. Nice layout.!! White really nice. We wanted a white initally, but seems like now my house concept is white n black. cos will be looking at black homogeneous tiles. but furnitures will still be white, creamy. Glass is nice. I love glass too. my study room will be a open conceopt, with glass doors and one wall glass. and my kitchen and balcony will too have glass. Living room tiles looks good. white homogeneous tiles?
  2. I think this is the sofa I saw that day. And the lady told me was more than 2k+ And you got it at $1980!!! Thats so much lower. Which sales person did you approach?
  3. wah u more chaim than me. my hubby say if I were to control the $, then i can easily spend a BOMB on the hse. so it is better that what i want, have to go through him. From planning to renovating the house, this period, i can easily go siao. haha 5 years ago i went through it...now again. Sometimes really wonder, is it i backside itchy, cos I was the one who wanna upgrade to a 5 room flat. And knowing i have to do the sourcing and searching alone... but then again, the end product is always so satisfying. cos when friends came view our current place, my hubby will say, "Oh my wife chose it. My wife source and design it" well..at least he gave me the credit
  4. erm...i also very chor lor. now is functionality vs budget. i just told hubby about pros and cons of solid top and granite. then tell him to decide for me, since he is the one controlling the $. I always say he has an easy job - just issue cheques. whereas, I have to think about the designs, the pros and cons, and the funtionality of every item constructed or buy.
  5. 17ft top and bottom means bottom is about 8 ft 8ft granite already $1k. no wonder my granite quote is $2450. you using blaxk galaxy? but using granite, will have the tile gap on the kitchen top right? really headache sial..
  6. yah, i think th wavy is not obvious if you don't tell others your mum must have taken well care of the cabinets that's why no scratch =)
  7. This sofa from IMM - St. Louis shop. beside Daiso.
  8. Ivy, I read in your renoblog, that you did consider using postform for your kitchen top? My current house, I used postform for my kitchen. CHose postform tat time cos of budget, and wanted something more practical - scratch resistant and also, 1st time doing housechores, so wanted something that is cheap and won't be ruined by be easily. 5 years le, this table top still nice nice and good. However, this time, hubby and I did consider postform again. cos it serves us real good. but solid top is really nice though difficult to maintain. After much thought, hubby say will go for solid top, since WE dun cook often. but i know, really got to be very careful....cos scratches really not nice
  9. can share your quote on your kitchen? Looking at my quote, hacking reallyy alot $$ =(
  10. Advise..... LG, Bellus, Corian Solid top - What's the difference between them? Gloss or Matt Laminates for Kitchen ? I have nothing in mind for Bedroom 2. Should I just leave it unfurnished? or put in a built-in wardrobe? Bedroom 3 - hubby converting into his study / entertainment room.
  11. so your laminates have this wave look? thats what one ID told us. And he say if we wanna do gloss, we have to choose laminates that is 2mm so that the thickness will prevent the wave. But of cos, more ex. and with anti slam, can go up to 7k+ cos the solid top he use is LG or Corian..
  12. Yours 21 ft only bottom cabinets? Mine is 21ft top and 21ft bottom.. Does your doors and drawers com with anti slam? One ID quoted me $5595 is without anti slam. the other ID quotes me $6k+ is with anti slam.
  13. We are begining to move away from our WHite concept house. it is really not easy to look for white furnitures. And sometimes, the white we see just differ from each other. Went to view THE PEAK showroom @ toa payoh tthis afternoon. the kitchen cabinets and wardrobes are using those 'wood' laminates. And i always thought 'wood' laminates not in fashion le. haha...i'm wrong. One Id commented that 'wood' or matte laminates are easier to maintain, and more scratch-resistant. And I noticed that gloss laminates are more prone to finger prints. so today was a BIG headache for me. can't decide what laminate i want for my kitchen.
  14. Yesterday morning @ 10.30am, went to meet up with a contractor. His pffice has all sorts of tiles...and all so beautiful. He recommended us a black homogenoeus tile, very shiny, can see my own reflection, but is 800x800. Anyone here uses 800x800 homogeneous tiles? as i read before that homogeneous tiles are prone to warping, and the bigger the tile, easieer it will warp. but the tile is really a beauty we also look through the tiles for toilets. saw some $2 tiles - $3.50 tiles. the $3.50 range are of cos nicer and more 'modern' but we have a budget, but it is all so tempting.. the designer quoted us a 21ft (top & bottom) kitchen @@ $5595. outside lamintes, inside finish will be white pvc. can i check if the interioir finish of your kitchen cabinets also white pvc? cos my own kitchen, inside finish is like ply, those wood 'laminate' finish. definitely not pvc. so just wondering most ID uses pvc for inside?
  15. hi Im also interested in the wall paper. You have very nice wallpapers =) can advise how much did you pay in total for the whole house? how long they take to put up the wallpaper? by showing them the floor plan, are they able to give a quotation?
  16. I guess it will be sufficient if you don't use 2 shower at the same time. cos even for normal shower using a normal storage heater, 2 bathing at the same time is not sufficient. I really can't wait to get hold of my keys. but according to my agent. I will only get it in July @ 2nd appt. That's like 3 months from now.....
  17. i read from somewhere that if we are using rain shower, then need to use Storage heater. cos instant heater dunhave enough "water power"? my 1st appt is 13th may. so now i start sourcing my items...especially mid year has alot alot of sales. so tot of buy and keep then intsall.
  18. WOW 384K for a EM!!! tats cheap! In sengkang, a resale EA is already 450k min not to mention EM. You've got a good deal
  19. try and let me know. my hubby cant understand why is it a IN thing to have rain shower.
  20. Went window shopping for some accessories I want for my kitchen and toilets. Saw these in Mayer @ PS today. And hubby say i can buy corelle dinnerware Then saw some Rain Shower. Just the shower head about $1.4k le. hubby Then i remembered seeing rain shower in Hoe Kee. seems to be less than $1k. Anyone install rain shower? Is the bathing experience good? Anyone know where to get this? Wanna have it for my balcony door.
  21. yah lor, it is big and expensive. but really comfy. so will see how it goes...since the lady say they can customise the length for us. The L part will be near the balcony.
  22. i like the highback...tats y we decided...this is our sofa..hahaha... yah..the colour alot to choose from..... hubby say get one spare one lor...incase our dog start to mark at new home and new furniture...at least can wash. haha but is 2.8-3m sofa BIG?? scared too big leh....
  23. this is the sofa which I'm eyeing. the lady say can customise the length between 2.8m - 3m (depending on my living room) it is fabric. We chose this cos the whole fabric can be removed and wash in washing machine. And can buy extra covers of different color price after discount = $2080 covers @ $980 per set. according to her, fabric from belgium...
