Hi Mickey, Cheer up! Its just the beginning of your reno, so still in time to put thing right. Hope your reno will go smoothly from now onwards. Me also looking forward to your circular design.
-
Er.. usually shower screen door is open inward one, so won't hit the w.c. But I think the space might be quite jam to put the screen. You may want to consider doing those swing glass door that are slightly angled inside (meaning the area of the shower is like a rectangle short of a corner). Or do sliding glass door for both side of the glass at corner between the basin and w.c.
-
I like this layout more compared to having the basin infront of the w.c.

I see. I went back to see your floorplan. The angular corner is really weird. How did the ex-owner do up the corner? If they expanded, then should have an angular corner poking inside your common toilet. But didn't really see any of such in the common bathroom. So weirdy. So your basin will be right infront of your w.c., as in facing the w.c. or facing the door direction? Err.. I thought will be quite tight in space to place there. If you're building a cabinet to hide the 2 pipes, you might want to consider putting the basin back at the same location, with 2 door cabinet at its sides. But, personally I don't like to box up pipes. By the way, got any 2-d layout plan to show us? Heehee..

Hee.. I hope you guys can stick to the weekly cleaning of this wall tiles. I think will be very tedious. And the gaps of this tile made it even challenging cause the gap is quite 'random', so cant really brush in straight lines etc. Hee.. we belong to the ai mia mai swee kind. Heehee.. but I believe the effect of this tile will be very nice.
-
Good Morning Danny, Nice tile combination. I like the black pebble-looking tile also. But is the black pebble 'pop' out kind? I'll be concern about the cleaning part as dust/dirt/mold will form at those gaps.

Hihi Kopi, Just saw your flat pics. I think your mbr toilet pic is the winner of all, with the basin inbetween the pipes. Hee.. are you going to have bathtub in your mbr toilet? I think very challenging to plan/design the basin area if you intend to have a bathtub.

Hihi Amrasenelya, Yup, mine is mid dec. So we are 1.5mth apart. Hee.. Cheer up! I also have a bifold door in my kitchen. Quite neat and simple design. Most importantly... very easy to clean. Hee.. we request for the 2 vertical panel design for my bifold door, cause I think got the neater look. You might want to consider that design.

Hihi Princessdella, Wow, you managed to find my blog from the whole stack of blog on top of it. Hee.. Yup yup! We shifted back already, waiting for you to shift back. Heehee. Didn't update cause alot of stuff lying around and yet we're still lazying our bum infront of the tv every night. Just have my curtain installed last night, will try to clean up soon and hopefully post some pics to update. So happy to hear that your reno starting soon, so you guys will be back probably before xmas. Yea~ Umm.. designs, you mean the layout? or just the carpentry design? For us, the overall layout (ie. those hacking and construction of wall) is confirmed before we start the reno cause they need to know which wall to hack and build. For the carpentry, its a rough guide, e.g. the length and location of the kitchen cabinet, length of tv console etc. to sign the contract. By the way, which contractor did you went for?

Good Morning Amrasenelya! Hee.. finally see your blog. Nice squarish layout. I like your design plan, especially the spacious mbr. Hee.. im curious, is the door for the corridoor a fs requirement? I thought its a very unique concept to have an enclosed area for the corridoor, gave more privacy to the rooms too. Err.. don't mention it gal. My place is pretty simple, so glad to hear that you guys like it after seeing it. By the way, we're starting to love our common bathrm wall tiles cause we realised that almost every worker (window installer, laundry installer, plumber, etc etc) will pop in to view it after walking past it. And all their comments are very nice and special. After moving in for 1wk+ and bathing there, we are falling in love with it too. Hee.. so I guess its a blessing in disguise to have those white lines. Do let me know if you need any help.

Hi Feimei, I think the cabinet measurement are usually taken after the tiling are done. Because the wall tiles and cement screed will take up some space. Are your wall tiles done up for the measurement? And the big pipe which you mention that take up 5ft, 5ft = around 1.5m, er... is the pipe really so big? For us, our kitchen pipe box up is around 10-11 inches (28cm). For the cabinet handles, it'll depends on the preference of you and hb. You might want to go to some showrooms to try out the feel of opening the cabinet with handles and those without, to see which one you guys prefer.

Good Morning TB, Yah.. we are also glad that we got a good plumber. Our bathrooms pipes and drainage pipes below the basin are also nicely done. Hee.. I'll try to share their pics soon. So did you managed to settle those issues with your plumber, esp. the cracked tile. We have shifted back last week. But our stuff are still scattered around the whole place. Hee.. Will try to post some pics after tidying them up.
-
Hihi Amrasenelya, Thanks. Yah.. just went to print our cards over the weekends. Hee.. when's your wedding? Okok, I'll try to take a pic of it. They are those common ones that can be purchased from the d.y.i store or daiso. We just went daiso to got the cushion for the corners to prevent the wall from 'scratching' the fridge. Hee.. we didn't realised that the wall will scratch the fridge front until the nice delivery uncle told us and help us to temporary paste those styrofoam at the wall. When are you guys starting the reno? Confirmed the renovator already?

I think you need to roughly know the number of tables you need, cause different hotels have ballrooms to cater for different no. Then you can shortlist those hotels that have ballrooms for the table nos. that you are looking at and call them to check availability. You can also email them and usually they will send you their package at the same time. Yes, the pipe is around 1 feet away. Hee.. think thats the last thing we will get bah.. still got alot of things lying around for us to pack. Same for us, they also want to package the sofa. dining and console to us. But we only wanted the sofa. Hee.. Umm.. after sitting in it for 5days.. I think the sofa is pretty bouncy. Hee.. not bad. Did they tell you that you can sell the sofa back to them infuture if you decide to change your sofa? The sale person who entertained us was telling us that they usually re-package these sofa and ship them overseas. I was slightly worried that they will sell us those 'repackage' ones. But like what you mentioned, we will never know unless we cut them open to check. Hee..

Is it for the wheelbarrow?

Hi Nekorin, Are you doing rewiring of the whole house? Actually the DB box can be changed and infact the location can also be shifted either upwards or to some area near the original position. There are some people who shifted their DB to be inside their shoe cabinet etc. You might want to consider this option if you must have the veggie pic there. Hee.. However, if you go for pub testing, it will not go through if you have shifted the position too high etc. I think boxing up the box and putting the continual pic will still look slightly different as only the last one is 'pop' out. And there will still be casing running down to the DB box. Otherwise, maybe relocate those veggie pics to another place so that they won't highlight the DB box at its original site.

Hi momo13, I think I can get the address for you tonight as its on the invoice. But if you just need to know the rough location, you can refer to the map posted by kopi in the link below. GR link is very near to Royal Franco, just walk down slightly more. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;#entry456134

Hee.. yup. We actually had a book of auspicious dates for both of us from our fs master. Hee.. so we just used those dates for our reno, moving in, an chuang, gdl and wedding. Very useful. Next yr June weekend... think you got to increase your speed already. Cause I think most couples booked 1yr in advance for the banquet venue. The big pipe is just outside my flat. Hee.. I took it before and posted in the earlier post.. so after shifting my entrance out, the pipe is right outside. The space outside is quite spacious as we are door-to-door unit at the lift lobby column. Hee.. I have repost them below for your viewing convenience. By the way, our sofa had arrived yesterday. Think our 'structure' of sofa is the same, just the cushion part abit different. So far, it look ok, except that the colour like abit sala. But hb think that should be ok and correct since the showroom was with orange downlights. Oh, how much did they charge you for the additional set of covers?
-
Wow.. think yours really big project. Hee.. you can consider not doing the plate, cause I think its nicer and sleeker without that big plate. We did it cause hb want to cover the lock. Will share the pic soon. By the way, one thing about this gate design that we heard from some sellers was... young kids like to climb on it as the horizontal bars look like ladder to them. So some parents didnt want to do it/ change from this design to others.

Hi feimei, Yes, you can find them at the shops. I saw them at the d.i.y shop also. But seriously, they only reduce the 'sound' impact. The doors will still 'bang' if we didnt close them properly. The 1st few times when I try to play the doors, it always ended with a loud 'biang'. Hee.. but now, kinda of use to them, no more 'biang' sound.
-
Hi Newnyew, I just saw your pics. Very nice console. And though not suspend, it gave the feeling that all your gadget are suspended in the air. Very interesting and cool design. By the way, how do you open the 2 drawers? Got gaps to put your finger?

Hihi JandG, 2 more weeks to go... will pass in a wink. Can spend your xmas at your new place. Umm.. I got your point, but water will flow downward, so I doubt the water will seep into the cabinet on top. Most of the time, the 'musty' smell is from underneath the kitchen sink due to high level of activity (washing etc) and the water from the sink seeping to the cabinet via pipes below the sink, through the gaps between the doors, backing support etc. Anyway, its good to have the precautions to rest your hearts. Im just curious, if there is any extra charge for the bases waterproofing?
