  2. Hi Angel81, Thanks for the pm. I think I will do mine slightly lower (pending hb's approval). But thanks for measuring for me. Hi Reiki, Thanks for sharing yours too!
  3. Hi Pbtgal, Which model are you looking at? For the one that Mitlancer posted... we saw it at $1499 last weekend at both courts and best denki.. but heard from the sales that the promotion until last sun only. We are also interested with sound bar. I saw samsung and sony having their own sound bar also. But didnt ask about it. Only asked about the Philip one. For the one that Mitlancer had bought (HTS8140), there are another 2 more models with the same look but smaller in size (HTS6100 and HBS4383). Their differences are HTS6100 does not have the touchscreen function, 6 'speakers' only and smaller in length (more suitable for 37" tv). And for the other one, its also without touchscreen function, 4 'speakers', smaller in length (more suitable for 32" tv) and its wireless. This is what the sales told me.. not sure if its correct, just to share with you.

We also sort- of decided on option c, but might change the glass door to a concrete wall.. saw a magazine design which is quite simple and nice.. but still thinking... The contractor that we met up last wkend said very sa-yang to waste the space there. He suggest that we do something like ivy's common toilet.. erect the wall inbetween and have 2 entrance.. where the original entrance is the area for bathing and the new opening for wash basin and w.c. ... he said more convenience for the whole family where those want to bath can bath, doesnt need to wait for the loo. But we thought that it might be quite crampy for the bath area.

  10. Hi bodo, Read that you bought a bathtub, may I know where you get your tub from? We need to get one to replace the current one also as well as the storage heater. Seems like you did some research about the storage heater. If you don't mind, please share your findings with me. To share, yes 30litre storage heater is really not enough for a bathtub. My current storage heater is around 35 or 32litres, but the hot water can barely fill the tub. Need to wait for 2nd-3rd round of hot water to fill... Can share the cost of the bathtub and 50litre storage heater with me?
  11. Hi Metalsubzero, I prefer the tv console that you drew. The first one seems quite plain and common. I am also thinking of my tv console recently and I think its a headache as I am not familar with those gadgets stuff. For the 1st one, do you have enough space for all your electronic gadgets?

Hi Ocheeng, That was my very concern when he told us about it. According to that contractor, it will not break if the door slam as its of a certain thickness which make it sort of tough. He passed us a sample 3-4cm thick. But I cant remember if I ask whether the door will be of this thickness. The door package will include the lockset and stopper.

Hi Angel81, I think I am not so lucky. I email Yeak the item that I want to do last week and just spoken on the phone with him this morning. He said his schedule for next month already packed. I ask him for Aug, but he sort-of hestitated, I how also. So I ask him to have a look at my email first and see how. Guess more likely he too packed to take up my reno. I too slow... I forgotten about the shadow part for Arylic. Ummm.. have to check on this area. Thanks for highlighting it. Oh ya, I wanted to ask you about your kitchen cabinet height from the floor. I am quite short, so I wonder how much to have for the height.
  14. Hi familyof4, Your reno progress look good. 5more days to your HO. Must be really excited. I also like your yellow walls and the blue balcony look very smoothing to relax there.

We met up with one contractor last wkend. And during the discussion, he recommended that we use arylic for our bedroom doors. One of their customer had install it and they shown me the pic (white arylic whole piece door). Its a swing bedroom door with the lockset. And the whole door is a whole piece of arylic and the look is quite class. I just browse through the catalog, quite a no. of colours to choose from and there are some colours are with sprinkles embedded. The cost is around the same as those normal wooden bedroom door. The advantages that he told us was.. its easy to clean, and there's no need to repaint the door again in few years time as the colour doesn't fade. And won't face the problem on the expansion/contraction of the normal wood door. I did have this expansion/contractor problem with the wooden doors at my parent's place last time, cant close the door during the colder months and have to force the door open/close as they just cant go into the frame. I have never see any one using arylic for their bedroom doors. What do you guys think of arylic bedroom door?
  16. Hi Supersimon27, I liked your living room lights and mbr toilet wall light. How much do they cost? Please share their pricings with me. Thanks!!
  17. Hi Angel81, May I check with you the height of your kitchen worktop from your floor? I am quite short and my arms aches from the stir-frying using the current kitchen cabinet from the old owner. So thinking of having a lower worktop.
  18. Hi Skyblue, Seems like you got quite abit of 'instructions' from your mom. Hee.. Anyway, I noticed that your wall fans are install just below the downlights. I wonder if the lights might flick when the light go through the moving blades.
  19. Hi Forkie, Welcome!! Your 4room is big and the balcony is interesting. Seldom see a 4-room with balcony and its open-air somemore. Very unique layout. I was hoping to see a blog of yours as I wanted to see the silestone top. Hee.. how's the selection? Got the colour you wanted?
  20. Hi Reiki, We are going to purchase our recess also. My understanding is, when you do the purchase for the recess area, HDB will require the owner to shift those electricity box etc to outside the flat. And the owner will then 'enclose' the area of their purchase, building gates / wall at the boundary. And when the owner sell their flat next time, the purchase will include the recess area already.

Yes, I also think so. My current washing machine is in that position now. A number of electricians also told us that. So was pretty determine to bring that out previously.... until I start drawing my kitchen... i don't know where to put my washing machine. hehee.. very funny right? Seems like most like the option c... hee.. ok.. tentatively settle for it.. need to spend time to plan other area.. By the way, can I check with you guys.. how long does the contractors usually take to reply on the quotation? And how many contractors did you all go to before settling on the right one for your reno? Any tips to share when meeting them up?
  22. Hi Cher, Your place look good. I notice you use glass for your common toilet door. Can those people from the outside see through the glass?
  23. Thanks XBB. I am also looking for T5 tube.. but i want those with cover. Don't know if there is any nice looking ones. Ummmm....

Hi Angel81, Reiki and Smallboy, My hubby have the same idea as you three. Seems like more organised way to do it this way. Hee.. so all the great mind think alike? The only concerns are the need to hack and build wall, any one have a rough idea hw much it will cost? Above are some of the ideas generated, which one do you prefer? Option C is the one that you four (including my hubby) thought of.. Hee.. Option A doesn't need to hack, an easier way. Option B seems to make the area very cramped, don't know if got enough space to shower and the washing machine 'room' is really just put the W/M. What are your comments?

Hi Mrspiglet, I am also not sure why my trunking 'sweat' so much. Actually we didnt expect it and never think of checking that area until that one fine day, the envelope show us the path. hee.. The trunking along my bedrm have turned dirty and yellow-looking, thou my wall painting still look white (they are painted at the same time). I hasn't noticed them until this incident. I am guessing that its the condensation. Umm.. maybe I should take a pic and show you. Thanks for drawing for me. But putting the shower area there is kinda tough as its along the window and the width of the toilet is around 1.5m only. So the 'walk' space might be abit narrow and always got to walk pass the shower area to get to the wash basin. Let me think think about it.
