  1. We went back to buy the 2 way tap for the instant heater last weekend and the guy also recommended this to us as the turning handle matches my instant heater switch the best. End up, we didnt buy it as the water outlet (the water to flow downwards) opening is flat. Because the guy reminded us that such outlet cant fit hoses and in the event, we want to fit those long hoses to wash corridoors / kitchen, we would not be able to fit on this. Hee.. luckily for his reminder, we selected one with long stick looking handles at the sides but round water outlet for the downward opening. Else, we will have the same 2 way tap.
  2. Hi Jesslyn, We also bought a similar shape kitchen sink. May I know what is the width of your sink and where you get it from? Hee.. curious, cause we spend some time hunting for it. We bought the basket too, but look slightly different.
  3. Wow.. your furniture also all white white. Look very clean and nice. We choosing our laminates now, but no courage to choose white. But white is still the nicest colour.

Hb also arranged for Gain city to dismantle the existing aircon unit on WD 1. They were fast and efficient. Within less than 2hrs, they took down all the trunking, aircon unit as well as the compressor outside. Mbr after taking down the aircon and they 'block' the hole with a wood board. Look filmsy, and they told me this is the usual practise and also for the ease of their colleagues when they do installation. And yes, the whole unit is pink in colour when we bought it. We painted it white ourselves. The pink resurfaced again after the removal and hb still can tell me, last time is pink meh.. The holes left behind after removal of the trunking. Had told Henry, and he said will settle the holes for us. One unexpected thing happened though. During the dismantling of the water pipes next to the balcony, the gain city staff called me over and showed me the broken marble skirting. He said the previous aircon installers had broke it while installing and tried to 'paste' back and hide under the trunking. Hence, can see the cement along the breakline. So he wanted to show me so that there is no misunderstanding. Aiyo... but seeing that still broke my heart.. my poor marble skirting... Hb told Henry about it already. He will settle that for us too.

hee.. yes yes, think our neighbours quite important. But we didnt get to see them before reno. Went during the evening around 8pm also no one at home. Luckily my block still doing the upgrading now. So the noise from the reno, people might thought its from the upgrading.
  7. I pm you the shop name that we bought our stuff. Don't dare to recommend yet as we hasn't receive our loots. Anyway, you can try the stretch along jln besar, I think I saw quite a few shops selling.
  8. Hi Jesslyntan, Welcome welcome. Did you have another blog? I think I saw that picture of the purple living room before.
  9. Hi elane1311, We saw 1 that is exactly like BD's microphone at the shop which we bought our stuff. Think around 20++ for that shower head. Infact when I bought mine, we have the option to choose either that or another one. The owner even opened the 2 of them and brought us behind to test the water pattern for us. But we chose a 'penquin' shape one instead. We also saw several other shop along Jln Besar having that showerhead. Hee.. Think you can just go down to see.

WD 1: The workers came around 9.30am and start to load their stuff first before laying those papers. The 2 rolls of papers which they brought up.. Close up of the papers.. Last time, I thought they are just those flat cardboard that are used for carton boxes. Didn't know that they have wedges inbetweens. Very fun to step on them to play with the 'sinking' effect. Hee.. They covered the whole place (less the area which we placed our barang barang)..

Hee.. here's the renovation permit pasted by Henry on 26/Jul (Sun). Close-up The 'phamplet' which Henry helped us to prepare.. hee.. He specifically told us to 'talk' to our neighbour which is directly below as they are the ones getting the most hit from the noise. And to distribute the phamphlet in a 'diamond' shape using our unit as the center. We went down and knock knock... but no answer. The area that Hb hacked on the 1st Day early in the morning around 6.30am... He tried hitting on the floor first, but the 1st hit was like... ermm.. abit too loud at this time right.. soo we went for the easier one. Just 1 knock and the tiles came off.

Hee.. thats' smart. Okie~ But I think still have to wait at least 6weeks before I can feedback, cause my reno just started. Umm.. but my contractor said can ask them to delivery already as they might want to measure on the real thing. So I am arranging all the deliveries for Kitchen (oven, hob&hood, sink) and for bathroom (w.c., basin, taps, heaters, shower sets) to be on 11 Aug.

Np. Actually I think the Panasonic one also can bake. Infact it is somehow of better 'stats' than the Sharp oven, hence the higher cost. The other time when we was at one of the stores, the sales was telling us, the advantage of Panasonic over Sharp, such as bigger water 'tank', the inner coating, controls etc... hee.. but we were quite fixed on Sharp already. Do check out the Panasonic one, think quite good.

Yah, you are lucky.. escape the lengthy draggy procedures for the purchase of recess area. We also shifting the main entrance outside. I remember your recess have a window or something, are you keeping a space open with window? Then it will be much brighter than ours. We went to look at our neighbour one, quite small and dark.

Hee.. some updates on my reno.. The 2 of us got up 7 early 8early yesterday morning and took a cab back to our place to finish up the final wrapping and for Hb to perform the symbolic hack before he report for work. Hee.. the night before (tues night), we also stayed til past midnight to finish up the covering. In case you are wondering what's the wrapping / covering about, we have quite a number of furnitures that we have to put there during our reno, so got to do some protection for them. Tiring tiring~~ Poor hb still got to work. Luckily I managed to take leave. The hacking guys came at 930am and started to lay the papers first. Actually I was quite surprised to see them laying the floor protection as we are polishing the marble at the later stage. So I thought most contractors will just leave the floor expose since polishing will be up later. Hee.. didn't expect Henry to arrange for such protection. Really . Hee.. Oh, and about the tiles confirmation, hb phoned Henry on Tues and the dateline to confirm the tiles was pushed to Thurs (which is today) instead of Mon/Tues. Hee.. don't know how my hb did it, but he told me Henry is cool about it. Phew! Finally can catch some breath... at the same time, hb also went to get the EDL catalog from Henry on Tues. So now got the Lamitak & EDL catalog to browse through. Discussed the tiles and laminates with hb last night, most prolly we will kept the tiles selection intact, meaning the tiles backing at the kitchen cabinet to remain same as the rest of the other walls. Hee.. too stress on Mon, I forgot to mention that Henry also pasted the reno notice on the outside wall on Sun as well as passed a stack of 'phamplet' to Hb. He had helped us print out the note to our neighbours to inform them of our impeding reno. Hee.. very ... the note is 1/3 size of the A4 size paper, he also help to cut them already. We were so busy and being 1st time reno that we totally forgot about this. Luckily, he took the initiative to help us on it. Im uploading the pics. Will share some pics in the next post.
