marble flooring - i like!!! another thing to convince my htb le..

yesterday, we met up with one of our potential ID to look at tiles. hahahaha.. i thought it was pretty nice of him to bring us around to look at tiles when we haven't even agree to let him do our house. anw, we went to Taugres and a few other tile shops in Balestier and one at Defu Lane. We have to say that we had a day of lecture on tiles. ***** Toilets during the tile lecture, htb and i got a few rounds of constructive exchange of opinion (in short, quarrel). we can't agree to the design of our toilet cuz each of us has our own taste and needs for the toilet. When the potential ID listened to our exchange-of-opinion-in-hope-of-synergy, he kept shaking his head. hahahaha..in the end, we concluded that we are going to use one toilet each. so, both toilets will have different designs for each of us but we are going to standardise the use of tiles. (if not, very weird ar...). 3 of us tried to search for tiles that both of us like. BUT!!!! we couldn't find any. haiz...think we are going to comb tile shops again during next week. ****** feature wall as some of you might be aware, htb dun like wallpaper and i don't like those woody feeling. and we want a Modern Classic Victorian style. so, it's been kinda of hard for us to decide on a feature wall....until.......whee!! we flipped through reno magazines kept by my cousin a few years ago - Year 2006!!! bingo! thinking to have a mantelpeice as our feature wall!! mmm...so, instead of a fireplace, it'll be the area for our tv. then the top part will be for us to put our pictures! omg! so excited!!! don't know do-able or not...

woah!!! will definitely need to reconsider this. have to tell my htb and let him decide.

washer = washing machine? base for cabinet - i gather that it's not needed if we were to do suspending one base for fridge - not doing it will give us flexibility in the size of fridge. but if there's a flood due to any reason, the fridge will be in water? then will it spoil the fridge? base for washing machine - it depends on individual? let's say if there's a flood due to any reason, will it spoil the washing machine?

suddenly feel very guilty for slacking when we are about to get the keys. so this week, we are going to look at my favourite (chandelier lights) and tiles. have been looking the forum and saw that there are basically 3 types of bases that will be built - fridge, cabinet and washing machine. do we really need these bases? let's say if we don't do the bases, will the heat (for the fridge and washing machine) be able to emit out? will the machines spoil? any kind souls can help me?

mmm...we went to look at it before. to us, it's quite small sized. but hor..maybe cuz no tiles or anything. thats why look smaller.. hey familyof4!! glad to see you here! hopefully it'll be easy after all the fengshui things that we have follow..mm... yep! luckily we are near Jalan Besar and Geylang area. easier for us to shop for furnitures and sanitary fittings. *phew* about Kelvin, will it be not nice if we approach him after we talk to that high post lady? cuz according to her name card, she seems quite big ar.. mm... woah!! their design is nice! haiz..but..htb say too girly aly *faint* mm..agree! mm...haiz...maybe hdb thinks that slanted wall is design too? hahahah..jk when are u getting married? i also want to post pics!!!! but haven't get the keys...haiz....

laminate - totally agree! but i've a "phobia" for wood materials. maybe cause we have too many word furnitures in my current home. hahahhhahah!!! usage of matt homogeneous tiles is a great idea!!! let me try proposing to other IDs or contractors. mmm... wallpaper - haiz....need time to convince this htb of mine..

time to "blog" about this ID that my htb and i met over the weekend. the worst one that i've met. She's none other but this high post lady from Darwin. to begin with, i was already very pissed off with her when she insisted us in going to her showflat in bendemeer. i called her and told her nicely (alright, at least in my perspective) that we don't want to go to Bendemeer and suggested that we meet in Town. over the conversation (for as long as i can remember), she kept insisting on us going over, while i explained to her that we've no interest in visiting the showflat because showflats will always be the most perfect, otherwise perfect. i resisted raising my voice and insisted that we meet in Town. So, we met her. we kicked off the conversation by telling her what we wanted. Modern Victorian look (something like those designed by Splendor). Minimum capentry work. Homogeneous tiles for the ENTIRE house. Minimal use of wood material. and many more. after we finished, she rebutted every single one of them. one of the many examples would be the homogeneous tiles - everyone uses prarquet or laminates. why not we try using? (hello? i thot i just mentioned the minimal use of wood and we want homo tiles all the way?). needless to say, that left me very pissed off. to top it off, she dropped my camera on the table when i asked her to look through the photos of styles that we like and don't like. any more need to said about this lady? on the contrary, i've to agree that Darwin has more than one ID. perhaps, we try to ask to talk to another ID before Darwin gets off our list.

yep! totally agree..but i wonder will homogeneous tiles spoil the look. i hate having the woody look in my home. maybe cuz my current home has toooooooooooooooo many wood le..developed a phobia for it already! muahahahah.. and they use a lot of wallpaper! mmm...must really find a way to convince my htb. u saw how against he is about wallpaper. mm...

hehe...no worries about it!! yar..i've been asking lots of questions about renovation. esp with the first contractor i met up with. we spent a good 3 hours asking tons of questions. what this term means? what that term will look like in real life? felt like a total idiot sometimes

yeah, heard that it's ex. but it's STRONGLY recommended by my htb's boss. so, well...just take a look. heard that they have good designs. hehehhehehe...

thats true..told all of them that we want a 3-d design of the living room before we decide. all of them agreed...mm...we shall see how it goes. *crossing my fingers* websites - omg!!! there are so many styles and designs there!! observed a few characteristics 1. big, nice, heavy and warm looking full length curtain 2. chandelier lights!!! (did i spell it properly??) 3. simple reno (mostly just painting the walls) 4. houses are decorated with accessories such as pictures, small "plants" 5. furnitures that look like i can sleep in them any time! hahahahhah chandelier lights - still thinking whether to have it or not. being advised against it because it will be hard to maintain and there are just too many lights to check if something were to go wrong. mm.....

heyhey guy77! yup, totally agree! you got it from the Balloting Exercise too? or Resales? pardon me. i know nothing about finding house. my htb was the one who did all the work. up till now, we have been meeting up with IDs - *****, Darwin and COOS. Will meet up with Ah Soon when we get our keys. up till now, none of them came back to us with a design. mmm..probably have to wait a while..
