  1. haiz...luckily my ah gong is the one supplying the sand..hahahha...called him just now and he said he's going to send it over tmr. muhahahahaha...
  2. heyhey..quoted price is $4.50
  3. hey nobody!! you are really fast manz...hahahaha as for colour..depends on whether you want a contrasting colour or not le..but best not pure white ba...else those hair on the floor will be super obvious
  4. congrats!! from the feel that i've got from the forumers here, i also think that Yeak is good..depends on what you are looking for and whether you wanna have more invovlement or not..hahahh
  5. update - floor tiles is half done for the living and dining area (cuz not enough "sand"). tiling is done for the study room too. here comes the alighment issue that htb brought up. actually it's not that the tiles are not laid straight. rather, at the entrance of the door, where the kerb is, the tiles don't seem straight. reason being the door itself is not straight. mm..how to say it leh? like, the kerb line and the tile should be parallel. but now, it's not cuz the way hdb built the door is a bit slanted. took some pics aly. will upload them as soon as i can just now when i just opened the gate, i was surprised to see some kind of brown thick paper laid on the tiles. tiler say it's to protect the tiles. very happy to see them protecting my tiles. hahaha...800*800 ar...very expensive wor...if get scratched, will be very heart pain. not only did they lay the paper on the floor, they covered up the aircons too..mm..impressed. cuz i never tell them to do that. actually, i planned to tell them to do that after seeing what happened to some of us here. but i'm very glad that they zi dong enough
  6. mine is done before tiling
  7. thanks preciousjam! think will go and see later. if really CMI, will call ID and ask him to come down and see together anw...about my divider, ID say it's only 4 inches depth. my fault la..cuz i told him i dun want it to be taking too much space..tell me to think carefully if i wanna book shelve there instead. cannot have best of both worlds
  8. mmm..what's the difference between piping and trunking?
  9. uh...that means he might need to take out the tiles and redo? haiz...think will go and see later ba..
  10. preciousjam: about the tiles alignment...htb went up last nite and said that the alignment is out. called ID and he said it'll be okie after grouting is done. is that true? or is my ID smoking us? ivy: hahhahaha..htb say he bever see any cardboard. only one big sign "Do not step on the tiles. Haven't dry yet" in Chinese. then he also saw a lot of small stones at the corner of the tiles - think hor..it's to press down the tiles
  11. mmm....that one about pushing the books out...i think i throw the ID with the things that i want and the pictures first. see what he comes out with. mum called and said that ID brought all the marble and granite samples. 16 in total. *faint* he also brought the window grille sample *faint faint* think i'll be sleeping with these samples tonite le...hahahaha... ID called and said that they are laying tiles for the living room. warned us not to go up for 3 days 'cause they are 800*800 tiles - very hard to dry and lay them. so he dun want us to step on the tiles wrongly and cause the sides to "come out". weird reason but i better listen to him. so, i told him that he better help me check all the tiles are not hollow by using the marbles that we put at home and he agreed. mmm...think we better do sample checks on sunday.. now..looking forward to the different designs of the laminates we chose (26 of them in total) and see it will look like in 3D
  12. nope..no small kids at home. yet. hahahahha.. but thats a good point, esp since we intend to have a couple. woah! i like photo feature wall!! thanks so much...am going to send it to the ID to have a look. thanks ivy!!!
  13. guy77: ya..will try to. feel so much better this morning ivy: yup, understand that we've to deal with it. but we are so frustrated cuz this is obviously our house and yet we have to do things their way. esp when they are not going to stay with us....anw,i'm so glad that you gave me this suggestion! sms my ID first thing i saw your reply! absolutely a great idea! told htb and he said that it might look a bit dull..so we are thinking to have the glass at the side of the divider for the top part and full solid laminate at the bottom. was wondering for the bottom part - normally, in a book shelve, we will see a wooden partition that separates the side facing the door and the side facing the cozy corner. is it feasible if i dun have the wooden partition? then i can get the thing from either side...
  14. oops! me bad mouth! pai seh pai seh.. gaku, pai seh wor...terrorising ur t-blog
  15. mm..on a happier tone, if really need to touch up, u can see it as an opportunity to repaint the whole wall (if there's a need)...hahahahahahahh
  16. as for hard to touch up, he replied as "Almost all..except Pentalite..starting code - PL ICI paint" guess you all better check with contractor first ba..in case my ID give me wrong info then cham
  17. father say cannot...he say cannot see the window when he stand at the door. in fact, he's aly not happy tat we put the translucent glass there. **** pi**ed with my dad. keep putting restrictions on us: divider, toilet, colour, altar, window grille, the slab of tiles (or dunno what) at the door. pi**ed. i think i'm reaching my limit for my dad aly. any more and thats it sorry to be ranting here.
  18. pai seh pai seh...ID say that it's All in 1 that dun have the small can version.
  19. familyof4, muz rest well k? u still have to take care of your girl wor.. *worried*
  20. i asked my ID about 3 in 1 and pentalite too. he said it's more difficult to touch up 3 in 1 cuz after the paint has dried up and if we try to touch up, it will be patchy patchy. but pentalite dun have such problem. and, for pentalite, they have it in 1 litre packaging (smaller can) while 3-in 1 dun have (dunno how true this is. haven't check it out). so hor...if get 3 in 1 and u wanna touch up, u have to buy the big packaging one...thats what ID said.
  21. haiz...htb and i quarrelled abt this stupid divider that we need to put cuz of fengshui. yet i dun want it to be standing there for nth. like maybe for storage use. sth that i've no idea..thought that i want it for us to put pics..but hor..won't it look very weird to have a divider full of pics?what do you all think? any suggestions?
  22. went back home just now during lunch time and checked the progress.. the air con ppl are here! they were doing the casing, trunking etc. so excited to see them doing the air con cuz that will mean the workers can continue to do tiling tmr. yeah! anw, they say all the air con stuff will be done by today..mmm...will go and see again tmr..hahahahha
  23. mmm...their shop may not be as big as others but i thought that it was sufficient. cuz after going to some tile shops, we realised that actually, the designs are about the same. at least to our point of view
  24. maybe you can try taugres? it's at balastier
  25. hahaha..no choice. htb like the yellow. went to our home just now..oh my...the below are done: 1. covered up the original door of the MBR toilet 2. bomb shelter tiling done 3. kitchen tiling done 4. cabinet base and fridge base done 5. cornice at the living and dining area almost done 6. false ceiling at the entrance walkway almost done really impressed! think will go down to home home tmr with a marble to see if there's any hollow noise in any of the tiles. and now, we have problem choosing laminates. in the end, we wrote down the serial number of all the laminates that we like and intend to ask ID for his opinion and how to mix and match..mmmmm... in the end, no time to shop for chandelier
