Personally, I think the way u did it is correct. Those things that are deducted or added should be taken out/in right from the grand total (cuz u paid the 90% aly), then take into account what u have paid so far. If going from the way they do it for u, that means u are paying for things that u took out during the reno (i.e. the 90%). Get what I mean? For example, u took out an item of $100 during the reno. But u paid 90% of the grand total (before taking this item out). That means u have paid 90 for this item that u did not do. So, if going by the way he calculate for u, he’s including this 90 in. by right, u shouldn’t be paying for it. And, about the stainless steel piping. He said that when their supplier supplied them with the stainless steel piping already oxidized. That’s his problem. Not urs. And by no means u should be the one cleaning it. Get him to change it for u before u pay the remaining 1K+. Hope this helps u

make them write it down. even for cornice, there are a lot of type. which one are they refering to? there's a catalogue for cornice as well. tell them to show it to u then write an example in the quote mm..my gypsum board (i.e. my divider and bed board) are finished with laminates. check with them. cuz normally they dun do cornice for gypsum board. maybe this ID has a new way of doing it? mmm...i dunno abt the way u nego, merryman. but together with my gf and her fiance, plus my fiance and me, we managed to get Eric to give us 10 free electrical sockets. depends on the way u do it le..

remember the labour of installing appliances in your house. some appliance supplier will charge for installation. get ur contractor to do it FOC for u. (thats what i did) and, mirrors and bomb shelter shelves (if u have) - get them to give u FOC and the gypsum board - does it come with laminates? what kind of finishing?

i think it depends on how comprehensive your quotation is - i.e. is everything that u want in the quotation aly. and it also depends on how tempted u are to add things. for us, our VO is only 1.2k cuz of the last min decision to have custom made bookshelve. if u wanna minimise ur VO, think hard of what u want in ur house first
