Depend how old was the unit, the tiles ok not? To play safe, hack and retiles, only cost few hundred more. Wall can don't need to hack less the bottom last tile, but floor better to hack if you are too worry about the waterproofing part.

It depending, if for those wall that was hacked, it will be cement screeding to make it smooth then paint. For those normal wall, they just do plastering to make it as smooth as possible. Cost for plastering whole hse is ard $2000 ~ $2500, some walls don't need to plaster then don't waste the $ on doing it, cos the workmanship of plastering doesn't mean that the wall will be straight or level, look smooth only.

Yes, the $xx/psf mean a lot to you n also to the contractor. Up to $14/psf is the marble you selecting from the tiles shop should not exceed the pricing of $14/psf, so u can only choose those marble price range below $14/psf only. The contractor can't price his marble at any price he like, cos the tiles shop had already indicated their retail price for individual type of marble. Setting the limitation to the owner for the selection of the marble was done by the contractor, the lowest $xx/psf he set to the owner, the more he may earn, although the tiles shop also give him commission for bringing the customer to them. Selecting of marble should be careful and caution. In the market, there are also compressed marble, so just be careful on that.

Yes...u r able to do it...but it not easy... Deep scratches or dents may be nearly impossible to remove, but surface scratches can be blended in by using a commercial-grade abrasive pad. A 180-grit pad or higher is a safe start. The main rule is to stroke or move the pad in the same direction as the existing grain. While blending in a scratch, you may create an area that looks different from the rest of the countertop. A light, feathering stroke will tone down changes. Another option is to hand polish the entire sink for a blended finish. Deeper marks require a more aggressive abrasive pad or a backer on the pad for more pressure.

HDB do not have rules on how high the platform can be...as long as it doesn't exceeded the 150kg/msq...its ok with them... Some items A quoted cheaper than B some quoted higher, this was to make u hard to compare and most importantly, u won't want to be coordinating 2-3 contractors do different jobs. To really compare on different quotations, u must compare them on the final amount with the same items, dimension, design and material...of course, service, workmanship is unable to compare as u don't know at all. It best to let the contractors quote together with the other reno stuffs as the platform bed u want should be custom made to fix in the height, length, width and design.

What did your contractor gives u for your kitchen cabinet?...more drawers, coloured glass cabinet, blum system?? $120pfr can consider reasonable or expensive, it depend on the material, design, etc...

Any piping for the basin water inlet that are exposed? May be you can use that to do your bidet rather than hacking the wall tiles.

Ard $1K la..As I said b4...it was here few hundred there few hundred that make up their earning, they won't dare to mark up too high for every items if not when u see the quotation, u also won't want to engage them too.

U r welcome...its only few hundred cheaper here and there....that how the contractor earn...here few hundred, there few hundred...add up few thousand to over $10K~$50K.....
