Yes for ID/contractors, that can be use as a reference but also must depend on what material they give.

What are the free normal cabinet top(kitchen top?), post-formed or solid surface? $190 pfr for top and bottom is dependable when u asking for price reasonable not. It was the material that decide on the pricing. If using post-formed for your cabinet and drawers, then is expensive. If using solid plywood then is reasonable. And also what type of laminate they providing too. Regards jaskel

And by the way hor, the conceal piping will not be damage by the hacking machine if the workers know what to do. And if it do damaged, actually contractors are to repair or replace it. House owners are not wrong to question or ask when in doubts, alternately they have the right to know as they are paying for it. I believe if he talked nicely, everything still able to go smoothly and u all can come to a compromise or win-win situation, but not behave in such irresponsible manner. Is it because he didn't earn much profit from u that why he felt rather than to waste his time, he can concentrate more on other projects as heard he fully booked till mid oct? Yes, I had done it for a friend on the whole kitchen and toilet. Got to do floor protection and cover all his furniture while his family still staying in. Took about 1 month. For living room, u can consider vinyl flooring, just paste over the cement screening can liao, took only 2-3 days only. As for kitchen, need to dismantle the old cabinet and disposal and also need to hack the wall and floor to receive well for the tiles when applying on it. (Hack & disposal, 1-2 days jobs) Tilers to cement and lay the tiles for the kitchen and toilet took ard 7-10 days (wall & floor). Kitchen cabinet if use IKEA, might as well custom make better. Take ard 2 weeks to complete as to do measurement after the tiles are done.

Why u don't look for a few more quotations? And for 3 toilets, it only involve on hackers, tilers, plumber and a little bits of electrical works. Doing vanity cabinet and top involve carpentry, not much.

Worth it or not, u already done it...by knowing the truth fact will hurt u more only.

If he said just started, u can ask to view the ongoing projects, handover liao, if service is good, the owner won't mind letting other to view, but do he really had completed projects at first not? And I don't believe they don't sub-con out the project, the plumber, electrician, carpentry,etc...are all sub-con, not use by him only unless he paid them monthly salary. Which contractors or ID don't sub-con out and which of them don't supervise their own projects. And by the way he talked, still not fancy enough? Do u have enough stock tiles to do up all this areas? It will get quite dusty and messy for doing up the tiles, especially u r staying in. And it took around 2-3weeks for them to complete. All the cement, waterproofing agents, bonding agents, inside your house....think about it.

Yes they will help to pull the TV points to the bedrooms. How the other electrician hid the cables, is how they hid the cables. How inconvenient will it be, the contractor will coordinate the works. If you are the one coordinating the works, ask the Starhub to do first or later also don't affect anything, they are doing cables only, not power points or downlights.

This terms & conditions is totally protecting the company only. Ask them to add this in the contract; 1. Late handover, $50 per day. 2. Last 10% will be paying only after all defects had been rectified within 14days after handover. Lastly, can cancel the last terms & conditions of the contract? Havn't start work, if u cancel need to pay 45%, start work liao before carpentry u don't like it and u need to pay them 80-100%, it unreasonable. The reason why u pay 10% (on confirmation)(it their profit so u cancel or not it their earning) +40% (Commercing work)(this amount is more than enough for them to pay all wet & dry works and still have a profit of 5-15%, if u cancel half-way, those still havn't completed or started yet, they able to deduct it and also don't pay those havn't start, so they got earn liao) +40% (b4 carpentry work starts)(already cover the total cost of all the carpentry works + 20%-50% profit) + 10% (upon completion)(it their extra profit) So I don't see the point of them to adding this term at all 3. Penalty on cancellation: 10% booking fee; 45% after confirmation; 80% or up to 100% after commencement of work

He from the other forum. how pebbles is wash, or put onto. mix pebbles with cement and lay over, wait for it to set then use a sponge to clean up the cement layer on the top. this is the old traditional method which is used here.

U can check up this to know more about carpentry.

Can no problem, got to know a forumer who DIY his own 3rm flat, he himself did the pebble wash for his toilet, maybe I can ask him for help on your dropped off piece on how to mend back. He a 'prefection' type of person...the wall he done up is so straight.
