Didn't indicate what is the max. limit for the price of tiles u can choose? U can choose any company tiles, just bring the ID along can liao.
-
First, did u select the tiles or your ID select it for you?
-
U see, using concrete with tiles, maintenance of the grouting is one of the issues. Using wood, that mean every 10-20 yrs need to change the cabinet. Still exploring the ideas on using glass concrete.

100% acrylic or 35% acrylic +65% polyster, porous or non-porous. Pricing. All this are some of the pros and cons. As I had written in other forum and its quite long so don't intend to write it here.
-
It black and grey for the table n chair. My bad, I remember wrongly ya is $210 per chair.
-
Had u visit the furniture shops at Sungei Kadut Ave? Cos there maybe a better and cheaper than u vanish and upholstering it for $380 per chair. My feel is this type of colour may suit your lighting.

Its the price and the material used is different. Imperial (TUV certified) beside solid surface, also have wall paper, etc...and its been in the market for a long time. Both brand material are not locally made, but was fabricate and install by their own installer here. Corian, LG, Samsung, Gloria, 3S, Imperial, Montella, etc.....so many brands in the market....in chinese there always a saying..."u pay 1 cent, u get 1 cent of goods"....Know their pros and cons and maybe u can decide on what u want to use. The ID maybe trying to save some money for the owner as the owner may have budget constraint.

wood scare of water, cement absorb water. There is pros and cons for both. Individual person have their owns liking on what material they want to use. As there is no perfect man in this world, there won't be perfect material too.

4 Room Model A
jaskel replied to cbson's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
If u like it, go for it. Cos u will be the one staying, not ID/contractor. -
Ask your town council for it, they will have it.

Its not necessary to do the entire length, some owner do it only at the hod area. Doing the entire stretches is look nicer and also easier to clean. No more cleaning of the dirty grouting on the wall tiles. Glass is not necessary more ex compared to stainless steel, cos stainless steel using also have grade, cutting, etc.... 6mm coloured tempered glass should be ard $20~25psf.
-
Actually mine is using white coloured tempered glass rather than the normal glass. If painted with aqua blue, it should look nice too.
-
Ya its true, normally quote 20-30% more than HDB, but there are still some quote the same as to HDB owners. Beside there is the deposit they need to put down to the management, the timing of the works able to carried out is different from HDB also. Ever came across the reno work can start from 9.30am to 11.30am, then 2pm - 4.30pm...so u see its will take double the time for the work to complete, how not to charge more?

15 Defu Ave 1 also have while their warehouse is at Defu Lane. Balestier is their branch.

Led Cabinet Light Strips For Kitchen / Bathroom ?
jaskel replied to new_home_maker's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
No, no, no...that's not what I mean. The electrician should laid down the electrical wiring to the nearest point where your LED strip going to be, and your carpenter should be the one thinking on how this wire going to pass thru to that point. Then your electrician will connect the wiring and fit your LED strips. Btw, I think your contractor or ID should able to advise the carpenter on that. -
Ya...the light don't goes well with the table. This type of lighting which is so call a "family" of chandelier (a design modified to be less heavy, less expensive and more compact but still have those "blink blink" effect), its more suit for a modern theme than with a mixture of wooden furniture. U was like mixing a Victoria style with Bali style. If really want to match with wooded furniture, modern zen or modern Balinese can maybe suit the lighting. My recommendation is to paint the table to a more darker tone. Both the chairs don't really match at all. Sorry about that, this is my personal point of view on the lighting, chair and table.

Maybe its just a small reno works....we can't compare items by items this way, its totally different pricing when doing major reno works.

Will You Buy Lunch For Your Contractor's Workers?
jaskel replied to Reno145's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
Cos your contractor don't want u to spoils them and in future they will take it for granted that their lunch, tea breaks will be provided. And by doing so, also make them have more excuses to take too many breaks. Relax, normally after a hard day works, the contractor will treat them to a good dinner, rather than all the breaks make the momentum of works not flowing smoothly. -

jaskel replied to new_home_maker's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
