Hi himitien WOW! The prices your ID quoted you are GROSSLY INFLATED! Take for example, the quote i got for my full height shoe cabinet is only $750 and demolishing of walls only $100 per wall!!! How many walls are your demolishing???

Hi bluegurl82 Nothing offensive but your husband is very brave to want to undertake a whole renovation for a resale flat. Bcos its going to costs a bomb. Me and my husband just bought a resale flat, even with the nice marble living room and parquet bedroom floorings, the renovation quotations we got from some IDs are pretty hefty. As for whether there is a need to get a ID, it totally depends on your budget. Even so, it doesn't mean that a contractor will not be good enough. As long as you know what kind of style you want for your house, an experienced contractor will be able to help you do up the house in the way a ID can too. I would love to recommend my contractor to you but i can't say for the quality of his work right now as he has just started the renovation work yesterday. What i like most about my contractor is he doesn't give me starndard items yet charge me at an inflated price.

Hi Pinkiedreamy My current quote for the kitchen for my 5-room flat is also $3K plus after discounts but my kitchen super small. Try not to pay more than $100 psf for the black galaxy. So where did you get your blum system from? Direct from distributor or your ID buy for you?

Hi Pinkiedreamy I highly recommend that you pick black galaxy (from india) for your kitchen counter top. Its more durable and scratch resistance. According to my contractor, the prices psf for black galaxy has also recently dropped. Btw, can i ask you more about your blum kitchen system. How much did you roughly pay? My new place is currently undergoing renovation and i would like to install the blum kitchen system including the metal pull-out rack for my top cabinbet.
