  1. ar....I found their website..Hope this help. heehee http://www.ccm.sg/LocateUs.htm Si mi locations also have....hmmm...I must go and see also. heehee.
  2. I google and found this. Hope it helps. Choo Chiang Marketing Pte Ltd Address: 10 Woodlands Loop Singapore 738388 Telephone: (65)-63685922 Fax: (65)-63635922 E-mail: ccmpl@singnet.com.sg
  3. If there is no other choices.. I might need to go for the window unit. I will chat with some air con companies and seek more opinions (if any). Otherwise....might just consider the natural wind.. depend on the weatherman up above us. heehee
  4. hmm....But my current flat which was done by an ID use another company which is a contractor to apply for permit. Likewise, my sister's who engage a contractor instead of a ID uses another contractor to apply for permit too. Hmm...so piggybacking for me seems fine...I think so long as the permit is paste on the reno flat is fine?
  5. thanks jam. Mine is Your block has not been provided with higher electrical loading. You will need to apply for an HDB permit to install new 15 Amps power points for air-conditioners or other higher capacity equipment/appliances (e.g. high powered IT equipment).
  6. Yup. I think so. Mine could be 30 amp since it is a old flat. I think what HDB suggest is to ask people who has this problem to install a window unit air con instead. F4, sorry...hijack your t-blog...
  7. Yup. Definitely going to seek an second opinion. I don't quite understand it also. hee..I need enlightment also man. haha. But apparently something to do so with the electricity power. Could be because EM... the gas or BTU can't run... my speculation. But is interesting.. I am going to find out more on this.
  8. I would want to use a system 4;but the shop told me that the age of my resale flat cannot use or rather not advisable as the BTU will not be able to run. mmm...but I need to find out whether is it a fact...But do have a feeling is true.... So was thinking of system 3 + 1; which again I think 2 compressor isn't allow.
  9. Hi Gardeline, no problem. We suppose to share information with each other.. so all our house will be"mei mei de". heehee. Forkie! Thanks. This is one piece of information I need...I was wondering about this also...cause I am not sure whether it depend on the flat whereby is new or old flat... I will tried to find out more also...but I think you are right....we might be restricted to just a compressor. Familyof4: Haven't leh.. Maybe over the weekend, I take a look at the quotations I received. Having headache these days...must be the weather.
  10. 你们真的是很“lor sooooo"! 第九页了,还在说。 老妈常说“公说公有理,婆说婆有理。再说下去可以演 TVB:家好月圆 part II liao. It depends utimately on your life experience you encountered....luck....how you define workmanship against your own yardstick...how u view risk.... your tolerance level and many others, before you conclude to an decision. If not, everyone would be engaging Ah Soon isn't it. which is not true....some of us choose IDs or other contractors like Mr Yeak. There are always some threshold factors in every individual decision. If "you like to diy design completely and participate in it" <- cause this is a fun process. engage a contractor. else engage a ID. End if This is one of the fundamental you need to agree before engaging a contractor. And then u decide later which contractor to choose.
  11. Familyof4...forget to ask u ; are you using system 3? I was thinking of using system 3 + system 1. You got any idea if is against HDB's rules? Which means I will have 2 compressors.
  12. undermount is like this....http://www.askthebuilder.com/artman212/uploads/1/662.jpg from my past experience, undermount look nicer. and u don't see the silicon gel....around it. Another way is topmount, meaning the basin will sit on top of the counter. You will see the gel sticking around the basin...Only advantage of this is if your basin is spoil...you don't have to tear off the counter...just buy a new one and replace it..
  13. Hmmm..I think you misunderstand her statements ba? "There's no need to post everyday since u already completed reno. After and b4 pics will do enough justice for your contractor." I think she means.. How about posting before and after pics to share; so we can see the contractor work. and to MrsPiglet...."I think those who give daily updates are just devoted to renotalk, and eager to share their joys and woes abt reno and their new house. To each his own.". Yes!....I am one of them...heeheehee...Will get a t-blog soon to share since I learn and gain quite a lot from the forum.. heehee
  14. Perhaps you can..... 1. SMS the agent that you might make a police report. Would required his assistance as the witness since there is no voice recording on the threat. 2. SMS the owners that there is no room for negotiation for extension of stay; do not call I suggested. But sms, and if he sms u back with threating words. It can be shown to the police. 3. Notify the HDB officer who liase the resale transaction, and let him know your suituation. Utimately, after the second appointment, the flat is legally yours. You have every rights to seek helps from the police. Usually, I think the police and HDB will go up to the flat with u if the family still insist their way. There is still MP who u can seek help. Hmm...I think police report on the threat is impt... be a real or false threat by the old couple...it will be recorded officially to safe guard you in the near future also.
  15. Oh yeah.. I agree with you on some points. Utimately, I think it depend on 1 word. "Luck". hahaha. If you are unlucky, paid a lot for a ID, or paid lesser for a contractor. You will have to bow to fate and luck. heehee. But of course, do your homework first, minimise your risk and position yourself in terms of budget, time, and of course your communicaitons with your ID and contractor. The more information u feed them when met-up. The more u know them.
  16. Wah...no time to read your thread due to work...and now already expand to page 42. "Powdeful". haha. This Samsung lock is so attractive. Who is the one who intro this lock har.... Argh... I want to kill him. hahaha. *I shall not look at this thread till this samsung lock pic disappear!" haha
  17. Is it? Hmmm... I got Ah Soon contact and details from one of the forumer and a lot of daily readings on the threads to do my homework. "Pinkpetter" She was in another forum before when renotalk was down. I pm her and she share with me the details of Ah Soon and other advices? Where got secretive. You got pm those who engage Ah Soon to reno a not for details? Cause out of respect; I think better don't publish people's mobile number in a forum mah. Later got Aunties call to disturb this uncle...jialat liao. Anyway, I tried to contact Ah Soon. As stamp + chop, I accumlated a lot of mileage from Ah Soon Airline also. ahaha.. Havent manage to get quote from him. So AZ bldg; u manage to contact him? But, I will continue to give him a call when I am free. Btw, you working in A-Z building? Can't help thinking of that with your nick.
  18. Hi Poh, I encounter sort of similiar problem as you. Although, my owner has a valid reason. However, we need to protect ourself if we decided to be soft-hearted and give in a bit. From my own view. Legal actions end up to be more expensive and time consuming and ugly if we can settle it by talking out terms with the owner. My view is to settle it with owner directly. Owner I think has no right to change the 2nd appointment directly with HDB. Both parties need to agreed upon since it is already fix during the first appointment. Do you have a property agent? Perhaps, he can be a middleman. Sometimes, a middleman would be easier to talk through and think calmly. Depending on the property agent I guess. For my case, I don't have a property agent, thus, I am going direct with HDB and owner. Another thing which I thought of is don't turn on the gas and electricity first after second appointment since you know his pattern. I think during second appt; owner need to sign something and terminate the electrcitiy and gas. You can don't turn on first... lock the door; gain access to your EM. Then, u proceed to HDB again to turn on. troublesome. I thought of this... Hmm...as in legal actions? Yes u can. As the flat is legally yours. HDB actions? I think they wouldn't do much. They would just concentrate whether paperwork is done and second appt is agreed within 2 parties. Most people would go for rental basis approach if you are not in the hurry to shift in and reno. I am not sure if you are a traditional chinese....there is 2 ghost month this years.. I think Sept is another ghost month... so you need to calculate your timeline or whether u mind..as reno EM depending on how comphrensive it is....mean X weeks. Last but not least, my priorities was listed in my mind to solve my issue was. 1. Make sure my wife is happy if I decided on any options. She is not happy. I am in deep ****. 2. I also make sure that if talks failed... I go for: agreed with 50% of his terms and 50% of my terms. For my case, I cut short his proposed second appt date. I manage to cut it back to 2 weeks and both parties agreed. I allow them to stay for extra 1 week also. 3. Friends told me why I give in... 50% of me was because I am soft hearted to be frank after knowing the owner's reason. 50% is because this period before 2nd appt, I don't want hidden problem to occurs. Like owner later hate me...start to "disturb" the stairs....the tiles....watever....since after second appt. is buyer problem. hmm..can't offer much suggestions or direct answers for u. Can only tell u wht was floating in my mind when I encounter this problem.

After numerous calls to owner and also HDB myself as I didn't engage a agent. So at least I can make my travel arrangement and on time for the second appt Your hubby also a Man-U fan?
