  1. My reno started 3wks ago. The bathroom tiling has already been completed but I don't have photos as I've not been able to go down to check much. I'll try to take some photos soon. But I'm sure if you can stagger the tiles the effect will be nicer. Kind of disappointed mine wasn't staggered.
  2. Hi AJ! 1st time posting in your thread. I didn't use Mr Yeak or Uncle Ah Soon in the end. Mr Yeak rejected me immediately & I don't have the time to oversee the reno. So used my friend's ID instead. Prices quite high....sigh... Yup I think it'll look nice if you place the tiles vertically at staggered intervals. My bathroom tiles are 30x60cm sandstone pattern and my ID suggested tiling that way. Unfortunately the tiles could not be staggered in the end as they were ?wavy (not sure what he meant) but they are still vertically placed. Quite nice.
  3. My ID just passed me Tag hardware trading catalogue. They have a webpage but can't see anything on it! Not much choice but they have the trouser hanger & also tie hanger. It's made of aluminium and comes with soft motion silent system. I asked for the price of the 900mm trouser hanger and it is $60 inclusive of sliding rails on both sides. Sounds very reasonable. They will deliver if purchase is more than $100. If you are keen to see a picture maybe I can email it to you. You can pm me your email address. I am having trouble putting up photos here!
  4. Looks like we both had no luck. Strange...but I just read that one forumer managed to buy the wirebaskets with the rails from them last year. Haiz haiz haiz...now got to wait and see what my ID has managed to source but I'm sure the price will not come cheap.
  5. I agree with you. Let me know if u are able to get the trouser hanger.
  6. Hmmm that's what I told them but they refused still.
  7. No they refused to sell to me. Can only get the fabric type storage boxes which do not come with rails. I even tried to beg them. Yes can find similar ones from carpenters who can do wardrobes but I find the Ikea ones nicer especially the trouser hanger. The space between each hanger is further apart. If you don't need the rails maybe you can look at the Ikea Stolmen system instead.
  8. Unfortunately I think Ikea does not sell the fitted Komplement accessories (e.g. trouser rack, pull out wire basket) individually if you don't order their wardrobe system. I went down a few days ago to the Alexandra branch to ask. You can only get those boxes which do not need the attached rails.
  9. It's a really nice place. I almost bought a similar sized unit there last yr if not for the small kitchen. Lots of potential for the roof terrace though!
  10. Actually the sample I finally saw isn't the same as that shown on the website. I was just told it is called rubber strip flooring and it clicks together like laminate flooring also. Not sure what it's made of.
  11. Which area did you use it on? Can't seem to find it in your t-blog. So how has it been so far?
  12. Anyone has used rubber flooring? I am referring to does interlocking rubber tiles that look like wood. Take a look here http://www.rubberflooringinc.com/interlock...-wood-tile.html I was told that it is easier to maintain than laminate flooring. Is this true? Will appreciate any comments. Thanks!
  13. Thanks so much for the boxes! Hope to return you a favour one day. Thanks again!
  14. We have been using gas cylinders for years. My mum changes the cylinder when it feels light (i.e. when she's able to move it without much effort). She also notes the date when it was last changed and the interval is pretty regular as she cooks fairly regularly. Try moving the new cylinder & compare it to one that's almost empty and you'll be able to tell after a while.
  15. Like I mentioned to Wendy, the KDK fan was legal in my friend's HDB flat. They have the HDB permit for it but I'm not sure if the age of the flat makes a difference. Theirs is a new flat. I emailed KDK website for a quote & the price is super $$$! I was quoted $350 to buy & install one ventilation fan!!!
  16. I was told by an ID that condo reno more expensive as working hours are shorter (can only start after 10am & stop at 4:30pm) so need to take longer to finish the reno. In other words, workers got to work more no. of days & they are paid daily wages.
  17. Thanks for letting us drop by tonight. Really really appreciate it. Your house is really well planned & well done!
  18. I just saw the article on the Renotalk homepage. Any one has used them before?
  19. Can share who your contractor is? Can't wait to see the photos!
  20. The bay windows look fantastic after the paint job! Where did you buy the duracote paint? Do you know if it can be used on bathroom or kitchen walls?
