Mrs Piglet, Sayang sayang! Hugzzz~~ we were at Kenzo Lightings / Designer Lights at Balestier, when we chanced upon it.. i ALWAYS love the BLINKs BLINKS.. FH din allow me to get the crystals lightings, esp no budget, so i happily settled for this.. mai tuz liaozzz.. we have decided to take Celtic White c/w Square Edge as well, to really materialize our White White House, Alan also suggest likewise... we will be doing the silver backslash as well, still deciding if we should do full piece from the hood to the sink or juz specialize at the hood area and the sink area...

Born Again, Yap! we fell in love with it the first time we visited my uncle's flat whose JUST BEHIND US! thus we set up our minds to source for units within these four blocks 41* .. heee.. i REally love the night view, the flats are very nicely upgraded with a touch of Class! .. and by faith, we found an agent specializing in AMK units, eps these 3 blocks, and we took decided OVERNIGHT to grab this unit, which is 2nd highest floor, with near unblock views and good winds

Main Door - To be Revanished since the main door is a new one from the Main Upgrade Programe, we have decided against to change it to save some costs ~ $480! Just need to retouch up and revarnish, also pending for them to saw off abit of the door as we have leveled up the flooring in the living room. Study/Utility Room Door - To be Revanished Previous tenant chose a total different color for the door in the utility room, which we are ALSO not changing Windows in the house - Not changing as well total savings - about $3.5K

Sanitary Ware in the MBR Bathroom Again, due to space constraints, noticed that we have avoided having a wash basin in here to make way for the shower screen. Uncle previously suggested we have the wash basin outside the bathroom, but we decided against it after some discussions.

Sanitary Ware in the Common Bathroom - Small & Squeezy Since we have very little space in the common bathroom room, we could only settle for a small wash basin (apprx width 43cm) and it has to be positoned in front of the w/c after very careful planning. The only corner for the heater was to place it above the wash basin. No additonal area for a shower screen as the water pipes are in the way, we have decided to settle for shower rails from Ikea

MBR light from Chuan Huat - c/w dimmer , they had quite a few nicer but pricer ones too! we settled for this light for about $260s before gst.. think it does the job pretty well.. at least i really do not need to recolor the 3 other WHITE walls bisque

Quickie for Everyone! Eat abit of snake as i need to see the installation of lights. Could see the hollow tiles being replaced with no grouting yet, the deko floor laminates arrived, the utility room door fixed back, lights & bulbs all in the living room as they needed space in the rooms for installation. Power Deko Floor Laminate - Java Teak Double-tube Downlights from Chuan Huat View from Living Room - you can see the small outline of Singapore Flyer at a far distant After our discussions with Kelvin, we realised we had to change the downlight above the Aircon as its the height of the light & box is 4", we need to change one to a 2". Thus we quickly dropped by Balestier to have a quick lunch at Fa Qi Ren Bak Kuk Teh , yummmyzzz.. before proceed to exchange the bulb.

Ya lorz!! i was drooling over it too... its one of the reason why i like the unit, the utility room has bay windows! since we are paying extra $9k for the Main Upgrade Programe, i really find it a total waste to use this room as store room. Hence, we are going to convert it into a study room, except no aircon, but waiting for the floor laminates to be done tomorrow. Maybe can use as MJ room too! i have yet to figure how to squeeze 4 pax into this room ... Asked around to do up the baywindow with customized seat.. kinda ex... configurations about 160 x 80.. so think i have to do with an IKEA's kid's mattress and cloth it up.. or just add cushions, going to put our telescope there, the night sky view's excellant at night!

I've yet to take the side of the wall with shelvings from ikea..
-
Merryman, oh.. due to limited spaces , we are converting the utility room to our study room where all the lappies, printers, modems, will be at i think its really a waste to use it as store room, esp so when its has a nice bay window

Installation of Floor Laminates will be postponed to Friday for the electrical guys to run smoothly..... We have selected PD doors for our bathrooms - in Off White Frame & Acraylic Brown to match the wall tiles in the bathrooms. Alan just passed a catalogue from Bellus for our solid surface. Wondering if i maintain ALL WHite concept for the house..it is too BLEAH picture a all white kitchen cabinet, with white top, white wall and floor... hmm... the only blacks are the cooker hobs and silver platterings of the silver backslash, hood, sink etc.. (no budget for black glass blacksplash ) CELTIC WHITE - tint of white specks OR PEPPERMINTY - tint of black specks OR ARTIC WHITE

Tinted mirror at dining area will ALSO be delayed because of this! My furniture's coming in on 27th !!! which gives me only 1 day to clean up?????

We bought our remaining downlights and T-5 lights(with casing) at Chuan Seng Huat last nite, which cost us another $600plus. Each downlight, with double tube, is about $31 dollars le! T-5 with casing about $12 for 4" i think. Cant wait for them to be fixed up tomorrow! We too, bought this dinning light (grabbed from Family of 4's blog). Btw, does anyone have problems with uploading of the pictures to your blog? i kept getting this error message saying i have uploaded more than allowed pictures in one mail.

Sons' Bedroom - Before Sons' Bedroom - After (Sunny Lime Feature Wall, which i felt its too light now especially so against the sunlight, looks kinda YELLOW. think I may want to change it to Celery Green! ) Our initial plans was to paint the feature wall with green stripes like Klipp-Klapp, but, due to too much hassle, we scrapped the idea However, i still feel that the Sunny Lime is too light, cant really tell the green when the sunlight shines in. May want to change the wall to Celery Green instead.. wonder if Alan will flip. Utility Room - Bisque Recolor the water pipe to match the wall tiles in the toilets

L-Box for Living Room Next, MBR Before MBR After- Our mocha brown feature wall surrounded by mass of whites, FH, knowing my fickle-mindedness, secretly ordered a small can of mocha brown in anticipation of changes as my initial plan was to keep the MBR totally white.

Updates for Noon A day of general cleaning up before the overlaying of floor laminates tomorrow, fixing back all the doors they took out at the beginning of renovation, fixing up all the toiletries, wash basin, toilet bowl and stuff. We even managed to get one of them to help fix 2 ikea white shelves in the utility/study room. The tiler Ah How is back to fix up the rest of the skirting and flooring. the ah neh today is a much better one compared to the other other yesterday. He's more pro active, remb Uncle complimenting that this is the Best Ah Neh he has, thou i do find him overly dressed for cleaning workz in his rugged jeans, white Tee and earings! ahahah... I had to rush back to work, and left them there. Hopefully, the glass divider can be fixed up today, if not tomorrow. Also, we realised that 4 panels in the living room being hacked, think they have generally tested for hollow tiles. Living Room & Kitchen - Before Renovation Living Room & Kitchen - After Renovation Black Wall at the Foyer of Two Bedrooms - notice we shorten the entire entrance to only 850mm and the misalignment of the Aircon Unit?

Merryman, basically to save cost, try to minimise any hacking or too much carpentry workz as they are the ones that build up the bulk of the cost of the reno. For ceilings, no LBOX or cove lighting as you end up paying a mountain for the lights, depending on how many points. If you wan simple cornice will do, which is about 200 per bedroom. For TV consoles, go buy the ready made ones, think every where's sale now. Flooring wise, over lay is definitely much cheaper than hacking up all.. just some two cents worth.. for us, we ended up topping up 8K because i added quite a bit, like partionboards to flush up the whole wall, L-Box / cove light, extension of wall , buidling new walls, tons of hacking, basically, major overhaul, so gota pay the price of it. for our kitchen we have very little top cabinets. Only one side. Do anticapte top ups, in that way, you wun be caught by surprise.
