  1. Ho Bee not bad as well...everything done very fast and contractor not fussy about when we pay him lol...reno has started for nearly a week and we havent even paid him the first check...actually want to pay tomorrow but he too busy to meet us
  2. I also got my bed from this place...sometimes the shop can get quite crowded and they will just leave you to flip through catalogs on your own...best if you can go during weekdays when they might be less people...
  3. Yup I experience this as well. At first all my tile price is based on $3 psf. But when I choose my tiles, the tiles for the toilets are only $2.40 psf so I asked my contractor to requote me based on this price psf. However, only a difference of $50 to $100 for me, cos the area involved not that big
  4. Yup, we have already let him know about this..he also agrees that we shouldn't sleep under the beam. So we will be moving our bed all the way to the wall and moving the wardrobe to the other side of the room, as seen in the second arrangement.
  5. More pics taken on third day of reno: Sealing the second entrance for master bedroom Constructing the new entrance for dining room + kitchen. The entrance will be covered by sliding glass door Tiling for master bedroom bathroom Our toilet + sink accessories have also arrived from Poh Joo today! The deliveryman very punctual, reached at 11am. Bathtub - Beauford 1500mm Other items from Poh Joo
  6. They are currently renovating my place for me...but no finished product yet as it is still ongoing You can take a look at pics of the hacked down toilets and bedroom in my T-blog though. But can tell you that Patrick is a very sincere and honest person (you just get this feeling from him and he has not let me down even once so far) and they are really **** fast! My reno started on the dot and today is the third day yet they have already finished hacking down everything, has finished rebuilding the entrance for my kitchen, sealed up an entrance for my bedroom and will be completing the toilet tiling maybe by tomorrow. Mrs Quek is always very courteous and helpful, I asked for their quote 4 - 5 times before finalising and she always agreed to help. So thumbs up for them and I have not regretted choosing them as my contractor, although their price tends to be on the high side. I am spending around 26 to 27k for my 5 room flat.
  7. No, he is a contractor so no 3D drawing at all...you need to design the 'look' of your house on your own. Then you need to tell him what you want him to do..
  8. When is your handover date? Mine also just finished with hacking and now they are tiling the toilets hehe. Also can't wait to see the transformation!
  9. That's what I read but didn't feel anything leh...
  10. Haha yea, I know, it has been a long wait. 3 pages before the renovation finally started Hubby went down to the site yesterday to take a look and he mentioned almost everything in the house has been hacked out except for the store room and the wall in between the main and common bedroom. I will be going down today and will post some pictures tonight :sport-smiley-018:
  11. How's the wind generated by the fan? We plan to install it in our study room, which will get quite a lot of sun during daytime (especially morning to early afternoon).
  12. The altar looks so sleek and modern! Did your contractor build it for u?
  13. Yea, we nearly missed out the shop cos it was towards the other end of Balestier Road..only when I went to look for tiles I saw the shop and went in together with my hubby...He decided to purchase most of the lights there and then...which is quite rare cos he is quite fussy haha... Hehe sure...I also can't wait to try out the fan
  14. Hehe in the end I also got most of my lights from them...this weekend going down to place more orders...for ceiling fan in study room and lights for balcony and spotlights for wardrobe area...
  15. I think the distance is only ard 1.2 to 1.4m...cos my living room length is 'shortened' due to the construction of the study room as part of the living room...
  16. I bought my hood + hob + oven for ard 1.3k from Courts Fridge + washing machine - 1.2k TV (42 HD) for 1.1k Lightings + fans for ard 1.5k (our fans cost ard 1k, so lightings is ard 500 for the whole house) Toilet accessories + kitchen tap/sink - budgeted around 1.5k (but half of it is spent on bathtub and storage heater so if you are not getting this, will be cheaper) Air-cond (system 1) - budgeted ard 1.3k
  17. Yup, we were also pleasantly surprised by the strength of the wind generated by the fans. That's why decided to get the V6 straight away. Most probably will be going down again this weekend to place the order for the sunflower fan.
  18. I bought mine on my own...renovation usually just covers...well, renovation. Usually those that offer the extra "freebies" would have calculated in the cost of the freebies inside the renovation price that you would be paying...
  19. Haha yea When I bought my flat, there were also negative comments about the house but what matters is both me and my hubby like the house a lot. We can sort of feel an affinity with the house when we walked in for the first time, that's why we purchased it immediately the day after we viewed. Luckily we did that because heard from the agent that there was another person who offered a higher COV than us the day after we bought the house...
  20. The toilet tiles really does stand out haha... Anyway as long as you are happy with the house, who cares what others say?
  21. There will definitely be a difference in cost when it comes to contractor or ID. If you already sort of have a design in mind for your new house, you can consider getting a contractor. But bear in mind you have to do most of the work yourself - coming out with a look or theme for your house, the arrangement of furniture for each room, selection of tiles and its placement, etc. So if both you and your husband are busy people, it's better to get an ID who can help you to coordinate everything so that you do not need to keep going down to your new house to check on the reno process. But of course the end result will be more satisfying if you are the one who does most of the work The house will also feel like it belongs more to you since you are the one who comes up with most of the design ideas
  22. I am also planning to get wallpaper from Goodrich for the wall behind my TV console...how much did they charge you for the wallpaper and the installation? I saw this fan when I was shopping in lightings.com.sg! Also bought most of our lightings from there
