  1. Hi choppy, Do check Mega Discount at Katong Mall out. Look for Veron for washing machine and Tom for TV. For me I would recommend Bosch (the Germany model) for washing machine and Samsung LCD or LED TV.
  2. Most of the concealed is going above the false ceiling. So if you are doing a reno to your place, then you should try negotiate for a non concealed type pricing esp if you are redoing your false ceiling.
  3. A good habit is to rinse the shower screen after every bath. I've been using my Auscreen shower screen for 8 years and its' stainless
  4. Read quite good reviews on Hong Tar - surprised that their quoite is lower than Allbest.
  5. Didn't know the Samsung Series 5 Full HD was selling for $1,199 during the HN warehouse sale. That's a very good price considering the sales was a month ago. Got the AVR255 + HKTS 7BQ speaker system for $1,750. Are you planning to get this too?
  6. You have an option to buy the fan remote. The switch will turn on the fan light. And the remote will turn on the fan and control its speed. No need to run additional wires. One thing to note - apparently fan remotes spoils easily especially when they are dropped. A replacement remote will be about $80.
  7. StarHub unfortunately don't do any TV points. You would need to engage an external electrician.
  8. Hi, I can email you the Malia switches brochure. Let me know your email add
  9. Do try Bathroom Heritage at Geylang Lorong 44. They have some nice ones there costing about $20.
  10. Was at Audio House yesterday. The Samsung 40" Series 5 LCD cost $1799 with free 26" TV. Asked about if i don't want the TV - reply was I can redeem the TV (since need to show I/C) and bring back to Audio House and they will refund me $400 i.e. the 40" TV effectly cost $1,399. I called my Mega Discount, my regular hunt - got the TV for $1,199 and don't have to make the effort to redeem the free 26" TV and bring back to them. The deal at Audio House not necessary good. I did however got my harmon home theater from Audio House.
  11. My consealed TV point cost $150. Likely non consealed will be about $80
  12. I almost got a System 4 with 12, 9 , 9, 22 combination and I believe the compressor was 32K btu - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. My view on 4 bedroom apt, I might opt for System 3 and System 2. Ideally the living should have at least 22k btu. Yupe I'm in SSOG and RSeries. Are you there as well?
  13. If your unit can support 2 compressors, suggest you have A/C at the living as well - there's where all your entertainment system is and there are days you'll just need it. Since the consumption is not frequent, you can consider using non inverter. The below is my A/C combination: 1. Mitsubshi Heavy Industry System 3 Inverter (12K, 9K and 9K) for the 3 rooms 2. Mitsubshi Heavy Industry Single Split Non Inverter (24K) for the living/dining Copper upgraded to 23 Insulation upgraded to Armaflex Class 0 Total damage is $4.4k For system 4, I came to learn the following: 1. The window where the aircon ledge is may not be big enough to have the big compressor go through 2. The current supply may not maximize the full power of the compressor 3. When living/dining A/C is turn on, you can probably only turn one more air con for the room - you can't turn 2/3 rooms + living A/C together as it won't be cold enough My 2 cents sharing
  14. Here's an alternative to KDK ventilation fan http://www.armcorp.biz/greenwood.html Price wise is quite comparible to KDK. The designs in my view are nicer
  15. The electrician doing my place currently charges me the following: 1. Conceal lighting point (+concealed switch) - $45 2. 1x13A concealed power point - $70 3. 2x13A concealed power point - $80 Discount: 5% No GST Noticed your electrician charges lighting point and switch separately.
  16. Placing the additional unit at the living may not be feasible unless it's 18k BTU and above. Has the air cons been installed specifically the blowers and compressor?
  17. I intend to convert my washroom 3 into a washing machine and dryer room. The citygas technical came by and mentioned that likely the dryer will not be approved to put in there thus I've got to scrap the idea of having Citygas dryer
  18. If you're doing some renovation, it's adviceable to change the aircon at the same time. What I understand is aircon tend to give some problem after 5 years.
  19. Hi st002, how much was the downlight and where did you get it from?
  20. Due to the built in ballast on CFL, there will be a dark spot if one would to look up to the downlight. The advantage is no external ballast required. I'm too torn in choosing CFL or PLC downlights.
  21. Hi, you can try Heritage Bathroom at Geylang Lrg 44. I'll be getting mine from them
  22. Hi, can some kind soul pm me Mr Quek's contact? Thx
  23. Hi, you can try Goh Ah Bee - they can probably get you a better KDK fan quote. I'm in the same situation as you. Currently trying to decide L box for the living (in order to mount the ceiling fan on the ceiling concrete). For the rooms, it will be cove lightings
