Kitchen & Bathroom Items...buy From Where?
streamrsz replied to pda_lover's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
You can visiting 666 Geylang Road S(389594). I got all my bathroom, kitchen stuff; ceiling fan and lights from them - one stop shop. Apart from very competitive price, I value their superb service. You can look for Steven or Renee -
Don't think the ceiling height will be suitable for these 2 fans

Assessing Contractor Quotation
streamrsz replied to anetha's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
The quote looks competitive. I just completed my renovation in mid July. -
I've just used 138 Professional Movers services. They too use recycled boxes with $1 deposit per box. I would use their services again in the future. Highly recommendable.

Here's a picture of the grille in one of my rooms

Here are some info for comparison (concealed wiring) SCV: $150. 1x13A: $70 2x13A: $80

I've been using Alaska Air Conditioning for years now. You can try calling Jeannie at 64496001

In my previous place, we did not tile up our kitchen. The area that we cooked, we used aluminium backing in between the top and bottom cabinet. This saved us quite a fair bit. Stayed for eight years and we cook daily - kitchen was well maintained

I just did my invicible grills for living and my 3 bedrooms. Cost me $1.6k. It's very nice. The downside is cleaning of the window is a bit harder esp the grills are fixed and not moveable. No regrets for doing it though. You can call Legate and they can show me some pictures. I believe by now they would have a showroom in Geylang.

Flickering And Humming Of Downlights- Any Advice From Seniors?
streamrsz replied to pika's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I have about 20 downlights. They don't flicker many times before lighthing up and definitely no humming sound. Suggest you get the light shop to replace those 3 sets. Alternatively test the downlights at the shop you got them. -
Regulator For Crestar 56" Ceiling Fan
streamrsz replied to beany0811's topic in Electronics & Electricals
I'm using Franco fans (2 different models). Tried the clipsal regulator and it doesn't control the speed well. Legrand works perfectly. One of the fan comes by default a remote control - I had to remove the remote IC from the fan to be able to use the wall regulator. -
Suggest to get a second quote to compare. I got mine from J&J Curtain. If need, I can pm the sales manager's contact. He does the installation himself too.

You can try the lock shop at IMM level 2. Can"t remember the shop name but it's about 2 shops away from Gain City

If you're planning to do renovation to your place, advicable to take the opportunity to change the aircon. What I understand, aircon after 5 years will start giving problems - their lifespan is between 6-8 years.

>> I'm looking for a Mit Electric System 4 = 9+9+9+26 For this system 4, once the living air con is turned on, can one turn any of the room air con and still be cold?
-
I've checked with Natural Cool before. From what I read in the forums and hear from my aircon servicing company, their service and installation is good and recommended. Their price however is on a higher side. For me in the end, I went with my ID's recommendation but the payment/dealing is direct with Pure Airconditioning (bypassing my ID's company). Their service and workmanship is highly recommended. Pricing wise, very competitive.

My contact was Eddie too Good service!
-
I believe they would do. To confirm, you can call to ask. For me, I got my electrician to lay the rear surround speaker cables. I got the cables from KEC - $4/meter
-
There are some feedbacks on Creation. I just done up my aircon with Pure Airconditioning. Workmanship is good and delivered as promised. Pricing competitive as well.
-
I would suggest to engage KEC (http://www.hifibargain.com/) to link up your home theater. The charges is $80 inclusive of wriing and calibration.
