I'm gonna buy quite a lot too leh.. I have about 15 or so downlight points and about 10 T5s.. LOL... Hmm.. Dunno wor, gonna ask him change to Osram.. When I asked him abt Osram, he say nwadays Osram alot from China one also.. So he using the other brand.. Can't remember liao.. :/

For me I preferred Sin Lek's more.. But have to agree the brown one is classy, but dunno whether fit to my theme or not.. Hahaha.. Should be ok right? Most of my furnitures' black, kitchen cabinet will be white with black galaxy top.. And I'm afraid it wouldn't match the kitchen.. :/

Lights Lights.. I was doing some lights shopping in Geylang, went to a few shops to get quotes for downlights, found out Geylang's prices are generally around $28-30 for a white framed downlight with 2x18w bulbs.. Very ex! I went to Extreme Lighting at Balestier and was quoted $22 for the 2x18w, but den the bulb wasn't Osram or Philips, can't remember liao.. Any1 got Philips or Osram bulbs for the downlights 2x18w for $22? LOL... $18 for the 2x13w ones, I think need to top up for Osrams bulbs.. Anyways, this was our initial selection for the dining lights, the SA told me it's called teardrops or sumthin.. He say very nice new design.. I actually agreed but after we thought about it, I thought I wanted the ice cube types, those 3 to 4 lights hanging down one.. This looks more classy, while the other looks timeless, neat, simple and clean which is what we want.. Most probably forgoing the teardrop design.. I think this lights have a cleaner look than the one above.. Anyways, I understood one thing from all this shopping, be it whatever thing you're buying.. Nowadays SAs will do anything to get ur business.. I can go to 2 different shops and they tell me different stuffs.. For eg., I actually placed a deposit for a Rega Fan at Geylang (I knew it wasn't a popular brand). The SA tells me very popular so many places selling, somemore say Rega has 24 yrs history in Sg, while Crestar only 5years.. Keep telling me Rega made in USA, Crestar in China.. Extreme lighting told me maybe Rega might be their in house brand, then Crestar is from Taiwan (I think I heard from more shops and ppl that it's from Taiwan) They told me to be wary of servicing for this kindda brands.. But den the Geylang guy tell me Crestar servicing s**ks, and their Rega servicing ah, warehouse ah, blah blah blah all bigger den Crestar's! Say Crestar small brand, not many ppl carry.. I think it's BS cuz I know alotta ppl has Crestar at home.. After I listen to both sides, I still dunno which one is better.. LOL... So what I can conclude is, there is only so much u can listen to, everyone gives a different picture, in the end, it's up to you to believe.. And maybe see which SA is more convincing lor.. I also think that there is no confirm thing in this world.. MAybe Crestar is good, but when I buy I become the suey one get the 1 in 100 with alotta problems.. And maybe Rega mostly has lousy fans, but I heng heng get a good one last me for 10 yrs? I think alot goes to heng suay one.. So well, I will just go with my heart.. Crestar most probably.. Hahahaha.. I'm quite sick or going around asking liao.. Hahahaha.. I think alot of you guys are too.. Sometimes I feel the effort spent is not worth the $10-20 u save, unless u're talking about few hundreds difference lah.. So, if the price is affordable for you, just go for it.. (And yeah, like a lotta ppl say, buy liao dun go other shops see again, arbo you find a better design or better deal sure heart pain) Hahaha..

Tile Selections Went to Hafary on Thursday and Sin Lek yesterday (Friday) Actually our ideas is quite simple la, no fanciful colors, probably sticking to grey, white, black and maybe dark brown.. I saw the set up of the green and white tiles which alotta u guys have in the common bath, was told by the lady serving us that there was a new color in stock.. Yellow!! Which happens to be my wife's favorite color.. LOL.. But alas, have to forgo it as our toilet's structure does not allow us to do as per the set up and I think if I don't place it at the corner not nice liao... Anyways, here are some of our selections... Pardon the pics, using my lousy N82.. LOl.. Somemore the lens dirty.. Common Bath (this one headache, can't decide) From Sin Lek, Main wall tile will be the white one with the darker grey with the lines(looks brown in the picture hor?) From Hafary, my wife I think likes this better.. BUt I duno whether it'll fit into the theme.. LOL.. Master Bath From Sin Lek, I think most prob will be going for this.. The left tile will be the floor and wall tiles.. Wall will be 30x60, whereas floor will be 30x30.. The feature tiles will run most prob behind the WC. down on the floor, forming an L shape.. From Hafary.. This one was our initial selection, but decided against the glossy feel.. Top 2 tiles are combi 1, middle row is 2nd combi, and bottom is choice of floor tiles.. My wife was the one who liked the top one with the circles, (ok, she likes it better den I do), but den 2day, she told me if look at it for very long sure get headache.. HAhahha... Kitchen From Hafary.. Should be using this.. I think kitchen should be more glossy look.. LOL.. If not might get the white wall tiles as per the Hafary common bath selection which has a more matt feel, (my wife likes) LOL.. Floor tile should be choosing the lighter left tile over the right one.. Haahahaha.. Very plain and boring hor? HAhaha.. Any Comments? Hahaha..

Oh.. Latest model.. Hmm.. I'll check ur blog for any updates on the brightness of the lights.. Hahaha.. Anyways, wheredya saw this fan and how much is it ah? 60" is super big sia.. THe 56" one is already quite big, but it's only 4 blades eh?

Really ah? Then usually those light kits with 3 lights are all outside the circular area mah, so they all will get cut by the fun right? So dat will give a headache? Hmm..

Actually the SA told me that there is not too substantial a difference for electrical bills between storage and instant.. He told me people have the misconception that Storage uses more than Instant as they appear bulky.. He says the power consumption for storage is lower den instant (I'm not sure if he's rite) and there's a thermostat installed in most storage heaters so they dun overheat, and that thermostat controls the consumption of electricity.. I gong gong listen to him lor.. Dunno how true it is.. But he seems to be trying to sell the storage heater to me so that he can earn more from me.. Hahaha.. Anyways, wifey wants instant, but I want my rain shower.. Hahahaha.. *Edit: Yah lor, excited, but headache coming.. Hahaha..

Shopping time again.. Went to Hoe Kee at Tanjong Katong Complex as wifey's sister knows someone there.. Ended up blowing $2300 on a Fujioh Hob and Hood, 2 American Standard WCs, 1 American Standard square countertop basin for the MBR bathroom with KrizRoz waterfall mixer, 1 glass basin with steel support and a $50 mixer for the common bathroom & 1 Roz Kitchen sink with some ulu brand mixer(but nice) Hahaha.. Anyone has any feedbacks on the inhouse brand Roz and KrisRoz from Hoe Kee? We're actually quite impulsive in our buys.. Tried to dissuade my wife from gettin it so soon, but becuz we know the SA (Btw, it was not the friend who served us, dunno got kena chopped carrot head or not.. Hahaha) so we went ahead lor.. I think it's quite expensive though, the fujioh hob and hood is already around $800 odd before discount, the 2 AMS WCs are $320 each before discount.. Anyways, we went from 7pm until 9pm and they were already closing.. We still havent decided on storage or instant heater leh.. Really duno want which one.. If I get an instant, I would only need 2 2-way taps and 2 instant heaters, whereas if i buy a Storage, I will need 1 storage heater, 2 shower sets and 2 mixers which is almost twice the price of going with instant.. Not to forget, the pipings would be more expensive.. I was quoted by Ah Soon for hot and cold piping, do u guys think the price can be reduced if I were to do only cold piping?? Now the only major purchases I'm left with are the electrical appliances.. And I havent had the time to see the tiles yet.. My 2nd appointment is next friday, wifey says go see next thursday as this weekend will be at M'sia.. -___-"

Congrats!! I actually liked the modified layout.. Your MBR is huge!! And is that the full size of ur MBR toilet?? There's a WIW rite? LOL.. But how come there's 2 black pillars or such in the middle of the MBR? Nonetheless, wishing u good luck for your reno!!

I was looking through my quotation again and I noticed something funny.. The false ceiling is broken down into 2 parts.. One is install false ceiling, the other is supply and install 22 lightings c/w light holder.. Doesn't supply lighting and light holder mean supply and install the downlights? How much were u guys charged for installing and wiring the lights? I'm quoted at $35 per point if it's $770/22 lightings.. Is that a normal price? I think it's supposed to be only installation and wiring for lights rite?

Havent been updating my blog for sometime now cuz I havent made any progress since the last shopping spree.. Hahaha.. I realised I have only slightly more den 2 weeks, 8th May is completion, which means 15 days from now.. Anyone has any idea if Sin Lek at Eunos opens on Saturday? I think I have to decide on my kitchen hob, hood, sink, mixer, W.C.s, basins, heater and most importantly my tiles by next week or so.. Anyways, another question, my quotation by Ah Soon for the kitchen cabinet does not specifically state the length, he told me agar agar.. Should cover till the service balcony side including concealing the pipes in the service balcony.. And it includes a cabinet above the fridge.. Weird leh, when I ask him he say probably around 14-16ft.. He will confirm once we go down there to take proper dimensions ah? LOL... I just realised my quote didnt include the granite top, it's still corian top, Ah soon said it's $20 pfr more to upgrade.. So I guess that's around $200+.. So many things to do! So little time! Hahaha.. I'm trying to rush things cuz I wanna move in by mid june.. I still have to go look for aircon, and some other smaller furnitures for the other rooms.. Piang.. Headache liao la.. Hahaha..
